Full skirts. For Spring/ Summer 2011 fashion season we see the return of full skirts that used to be hot in 1970s. And while some of us do not really consider these as sexy or interesting men have quite the contrary opinion. They love watching a girl walking in a full skirt and believe such pieces look incredibly feminine. Besides, they do leave a lot to imagination.

Designs of full skirts of this season are very diverse that allows every woman choosing a piece that suits her particular figure. There are long and sheer skirts or shorter and fuller versions. And Salvatore Ferragamo offers assymetrical styles.

Wide pants. Wide pants have also come to us from the far 70s. They are comfy, stylish and often elegant. But there are plenty of more modern and youthful designs.

High-waisted wide pants. Wide leg trouser with high waist comes as one possible form of wide pants which are totally trendy in Spring/ Summer 2011 fashion season. These are seen all over the runways and are already hitting the streets.

Create the retro look with floaty tops, platforms and skinny belts and get ready for the flattering attention of your fashionista friends. Find this trend in collections of Jason Wu, Marc Jacobs, Tommy Hilfiger, Tory Burch and other designers.

Pajamas. You will be surprised to know that couturiers want us to wear pajamas as outwear this Spring/ Summer 2011. They consider it as quite comfortable to don such items outside of your boudoir. See trendy pieces in ranges by Thakoon, AOS, Topshop, Paul Smith and others.

Shorts. Shorts are comfy while being very stylish, which makes them so popular with women all over the world. In Spring/ Summer 2011 designers offer customers a great variety of shorts designs, from those ready to be worn to office to quite short and daring pairs.

Shirt-dresses. While the combination of words seems to be ridiculous the pieces of this style look very pretty on the Spring/ Summer 2011 runway. Tommy Hilfiger offers a womanly variant of the dress, Viktor & Rolf suggest trying asymmetrical design while Paul Smith sees women wearing longer mannish frocks.

Sheer fabrics. Trend for sheer fabrics has been with us for a while already. It seems that long sheer skirts are the most popular for Spring/ Summer 2011. However, one can find loads of sheer dresses, blouses and tops on the runway, too.

Lace. If you want some of your flesh to be seen through the fabric you can either go for a lace trend of Spring/ Summer 2011 fashion season. Every brand from Dolce & Gabbana to Issa offers some kind of sexy lace. Some pieces are entirely made of lace, others have tempting lace insets. It’s you who can choose what to wear though. Maxi dresses. This type of dresses never goes out of vogue. Every fashion season we see many floor-sweeping gowns on the runway but in Spring/ Summer 2011 the number of maxis has increased significantly. Dresses have become airier, lighter, and more flowing. And majority of items come with prints.

Tail dresses. Welcome the new and pretty unexpected Spring/ Summer 2011 trend – tail dresses!!! The runway abounded with tail dresses – shorter and sexier, of average length and even long and red-carpet-ready gowns.

Floral print. Just a couple of fashion seasons back we celebrated the popularity of floral print. And here it is again, more diverse than before thanks to Marc Jacobs, Carolina Herrera and Christian Dior. (See S/S 2011 FLORAL TREND.)

Leopard print. Alas and alack! But leopard print is again trendy. See how Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry Prorsum and Rebecca Taylor see the pattern incorporated into our wardrobes.

White dresses. White is always one of the most popular colors but for Spring/ Summer 2011 it is one of the hottest trends. And it is most notable on dresses, both short and long. Dresses come in minimalistic style, with frills and fringing, sheer and trimmed with lace.

Bright colors. During Spring/ Summer 2011 black and darker hues are not trendy but brighter tones are very popular. Lemon yellow and orange are the best. (See S/S 2011 COLOR TRENDS.)

Fringing. Fringe is an interesting trend. It can transform the look into a real work of art or ruin it completely. Softer version of fringing looks cute and womanly. But fringe on cowboy-inspired garments looks more brutal and tougher.

Belts. Extensive use of belts has become fashionable last season and until now belts do not lose their popularity. Wear a belt with a dress to accentuate your midriff, pair it with a skirt or trousers to finish the look, or add a piece to make the outfit more unusual.

Minimalism. While many interesting details that decorate women’s clothes have been created some ladies still prefer to wear minimalistic garments in Calvin Klein’s style. It is good time to go now as during Spring/ Summer 2011 fashion season minimalism is an essential trend.

As usual some trends from the previous season stay with us for another couple of months and you can wear them with dignity. And there are a few new ones that will complement our spring wardrobe.

Platform sandals
If you are a real fashionista this trend just needs to be in your wardrobe as almost every designer paid attention to it and created truly nice pieces for us to wear. They are perfect for many reasons. First, they are beautiful. They come in bright hues and original designs, from cage look to the one providing lots of coverage. Second, they are more comfortable to wear than ordinary heels. And third, they are super-glamorous and some celebrities have already been spotted wearing those.

Mary Janes
These shoes are ideal for office and the girls who simply love elegant footwear. The shoes come in various colors and can be very strict or exremely fresh and colorful. What you choose depends on you! Peep-toe Mary Janes have returned too!

Sky-high Heels
Despite all the arguments this type of womens designer shoes will always exist as there are plenty of women who are ready to suffer bunions and feet deformations to look stylish like Posh. Many brands presented high stilettos in their ranges, from classic Burberry to rock-chic DSquared2.

Kitten Heels
Although we admire the look of glamorous sky-high shoes we do think about our health. In this sense kitten heel can be attractive. And lots of women have already embraced this trend and walk freely in streets and even offices. Kitten heels are small and therefore comfortable. They are the great choice for ladies who hate flats but care about their feet.

Artsy Heels
In eveyday life we all want something simple and comfy but there are occasions when you want to stand out, to be the best, the brightest, to be the focus of attention. And in these cases artsy shoes are perfect. Alexander McQueen, Nina Richi, Gianfranco Ferre – all are known for making such footwear. And this type of shoes is always in fashion. Exclusive things are always trendy.

Wedges
Wedges are a good alternative to high heels. They can be high but stylish and comfortable. You can walk in them easily and feel fantastic. New wedges are super-modern and come in chic fabrics.

Middle-sized platforms
This type of footwear may not be very glamorous but it is exceptionally comfortable. When you are in them you feel like you are wearing flats but you don’t feel all that roughness and lumps of the ground.

Flats
Yes, flats are trendy, too. Don those as often as you like! Flat thong sandals are very hot this season as well.

High boots
These might seem to be a great contrast to flats. But actually you feel nice wearing them. The can be made of silk or lace, or be military-inspired like Jean Paul Gaultier offers.

Ankle Boots
Ankle boots have been with us for a few seasons and will definitely stay one more.Often called as “summer boots” ankle boots remain fierce and funky but fabrics have a softer edge. This season we see ankle-sandals, lace-ups, bandage-style straps, wedges, and peep-toes.

Tribal Chic
A touch of tribal is necessary in any collection to add some national coloring. Wild animal print sandals with their dramatic stitching and striking shapes do look sumptuous and can be matched to bold floral dresses or any stylish pants.

Sheer detailing
This season some designers suggest us wearing shoes that come with plastic or chiffon detailing, in fact any material that can provide the shoe with transparency. It looks interesting and sexy but I wonder whether it is comfortable.

Oxford Brogues
Boyish brogues are brought to women’s fashion. It seems that men become more feminine while women tend to be more masculine. I don’t understand this tendency. However, not everything we have given to men yet, as even brogues come with frills and ruffles.

Socks + Shoes
The most horrible trend ever, for me. But we saw lots of shoes and sandals together with socks on the runway, and it’s a definitely a trend. So, if you have no prejudice against this trend which I do have, show a rebellious streak and wear socks with your favorite sandals.

But lets see gorgeous shoes trends for spring/summer 2010 from Milan fashion week runway: heels, widgets, platforms and sandals, flats and extravagant shoes!

Donatella Versace presented Spring/Summer 2010 shoes collection inspired by Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland movie. Lots of high platforms, bright and craza patterns, geometrical ornaments, the palette is bold black and white mixed with pastels.

The shoes are colorful, amazing, with an architectonic design and view, highly stylish. They were adorned with buckles, studs and cut-outs.

Dolce & Gabbana mixed pumps and socks.

D&G wants cowboy boots with fringe for spring weather.

Extravagant shoes collection launches Emanuel Ungaro.

Fendi designed footwear collection in neutral colors and materials.

Gucci opted the style of futurustic leather motives.

Sandals with fringe were demonstrated on Etro show.

Jil Sander made the mix of wood platform and iron heels.

Marni offered small thin heels and sandals.

But when we think about spring that is already with us, LBD is something you probably want to forget about. Black is great and it’s chic but it seems too dull in spring and summer when everything is so bright and lively.

What designers want to offer to us is another classic – it’s going to be called LWD or Little White Dress!

Many couturiers have introduced this optimistic color to make us forget about all those problems we are experiencing today, I mean the economic recession that is always on our minds.

Besides, white is extremely feminine and very flirty. Wearing it you will always look perfect!

But what is LWD like? Basically it’s just a white dress with the skirt no longer than a knee point. It can be of any style, with any kind of embellishment or adornment.

Modern collections include nice examples of laconic minimalism. Minimalism means minimum details of any type, a simple, modest but still beautiful dress.

Look at Calvin Klein and MaxMara dresses shown below. Very simple designs, no pleats, ruffles or embellishments, just pure sophistication.

Another good example of a little white dress is a nice plain dress with tiny prints or little embroidery: Alexander Wang and Diane Von Furstenberg. Despite the fact the dresses may seem too ordinary they look very elegant.

Rich floral embroidery adds femininity to the dress you wear. And florals are a hot trend for spring-summer 2009. Diane Von Furstenberg created nice pieces using this fabulous detail.

Badgley Mischka used much exquisite patterns in their dresses making them look womanly and a bit fairy. When paired with nice jewelry and a good bag such a dress will look superb.

Next example of a perfect LWD is the one with a puffy or richly ruffled skirt that always reminds me of a princess dress. For those who like short voluminous dresses Balmain’s dresses may be a good choice. They are made from luxurious materials and have an embroidery and crystal embellishment.

If you want something unusual or even extraordinary I can suggest you Alexander McQueen or Betsey Johnson’s dresses. I’m sure you’ll never find anyone else wearing such a piece.

The last few dresses I want to tell you about were created by Gianfranco Ferre and I love them the most. I like the silhouette, the form of the sleeve and the belt that emphasizes the waist. Looks very elegant and classy.

These are just a few examples of a little white dress that will soon become very popular not only among designers but also with fashionistas worldwide.

There are plenty of other designs and styles and you can surely find something that will make you the queen of the party!

Giorgio Armani looked to update 1980s fashion with glossy fabrics and shiny patent black caps and long gloves at his show.

“I wanted a strong, determined woman,” Armani was quoted as saying by Italian paper MF Fashion. “I played with proportion, with credits to the ’80s to define a new classic.”

Gucci’s collection also seemed a throwback to the 1980s. The clothes said to be inspired by “a glittering, glamorous time, when going out was a way of life.” The line was rooted in the style of fashion icon, Tina Chow.

Blumarine represented predominantly dark collection with the flashes of scarlet, leopard and grey tints. Long gloves, plenty of satin and ornamented necklaces were so characteristic for the Autumn/Winter 2009 Blumarine line.

“The ’80s movement has certainly moved across the pond. A strong shoulder is going to be an absolutely necessity for women and their wardrobes for the coming season.”

Gianfranco Ferre chose small waists and square shoulders together with a puffed shoulder bolero.

Roberto Cavalli fixed the short dresses and skirts and teamed them with very high skin-tight suede boots with steel heels.

“You need to attack in order to win. I have declared war on the (financial) crisis,” he said.

Cavalli is surely right! Fashion hits the crises! Beauty hits the crises!

Let’s ponder over what to choose first!

Marc Jacobs presents his extra feminine coat-dress. It’s completely sensitive! Scarf-belt is an excellent decision for special evenings.

Comme des Garcons’s coat and dress are covered with the black petals that add some mystery to the image.

The trenches and coats from Yves Saint Laurent are a tender femininity. Black elegance decored with ornament or belt as an obligatory accessory stressing the thing waist. It’s always trendy!

Akris’s coats are classic for all seasons. Silhouette simplicity impresses with austere style. Minimum details. Gucci offers us the sort of youth collection full of short trenches in beige, white, khaki, grey palette. Lots of trendy details like sliders, fasteners, buckles and clasps.

Paul Smith created the thrilling image of an enigmatic woman using the silk, mousseline, pleats and flounces.

Vivienne Westwood’s structural rain coat is in Vivienne’s vision. It’s complicated, strange and sexy! Appropriate for the red carpet and office day as well.

Chloe take us back to childhood with the flower prints and soft fabrics: flannel, cotton – fingering for the romantic and sentimental girls. MaxMara developed the collection of one-color & colorful ensembles with plain straight lines and knees-up-length.

But in my opinion glam trend leaders this season are D&G, Oscar de la Renta and Versace. They combined greatly the sense of modesty, complexity, elegance and new fashion waves.

Short trench from Emanuel Ungaro impresses much or in other words nothing-excessive. Calvin Klein presents the line of light colors and structural lines for Spring 2009, so does Ralph Lauren.

Gianfranco Ferre offers us the pleasing elegant trapezium coat in a grey palette that is for everyday and special events! “Flowing” coats and rain-coats are tremendously trendy Spring 2009 season. Giorgio Armani’s silhouette is exactly a flowing one. Pastel shades of his Spring line suits look great at the warm sunny day! Nina Ricci is the adapter for extraordinary trenches for extravagant ladies. The half-trench is half-dress looks terrific with orange and complicated light pink and grey hues.

So, it’s you to choose!
