Gucci Resort 2014 Collection

The collection includes tunic dresses, wide leg pants, relaxed trenches, jumpsuits, short ensembles, and and some sheer frocks. There are metallic finishes in clothes and accessories, sparkling sequins, retro prints, and simply shiny fabrics. The evening glamour in everyday clothes seems to be a running theme in resort 2014 collections.

The color palette includes such sunset hues as soft oranges, purples, yellows, but there are alsomore neutral colors like taupe, gray, and brown. Blue, emerald green, silver, and gold hues are also used in the collection.

Shiny and sparkly suits, ensembles are perfect for nigh outings but can also be paired with matte tops, skirts, and trousers for an office-friendly look. There are a few maxi dresses in shirt and kimono styles and several midi length dresses for everyday.

Some other outfits feature retro prints and high-rise trousers paired with casual tops and matching accessories. The sheer trend found its way here as well as there are a couple of dresses in sheer embellished fabric in blue and oxblood colors.

One of the standout pieces is a mink jacket paired with shiny pleated trousers and open toe sandals. Another such item is a white coat designed in kimono-style.

The line is absolutely glamorous and stylish. Accessories are designed to match the outfits. There are printed wedges, metallic peep-toe sandals, and flats with printed ankle ribbons.

First Day Of 2013 Cannes Film Festival

Nicole Kidman looked gorgeous in Christian Dior Couture Spring 2013 floral strapless dress that the actress completed with pink patent Jimmy Choo shoes and a Ferragamo clutch. Kidman will fulfill her role as a jury member during this Cannes Film Festival.

Carey Mulligan also chose Christian Dior Couture, her pale pink dress was minimalist and romantic, she accentuated it only with bright red lipstick. The star wore her hair mid-parted and sleek. Her The Great Gatsby co-star Isla Fisher went for a red Oscar de la Renta gown with a ruffled skirt, which she styled with Bulgari Heritage necklace and a statement bracelet.

Lana Del Rey who recorded the song ‘Young and Beautiful’ for the film’s soundtrack dressed in a black and white lace dress with a train, her hair was styled in retro waves. She accessorized her look with statement ring and earrings.

Naomie Harris opted for a metallic though minimalist Calvin Klein dress. The actress chose minimal accessories that included a black satin Calvin Klein handbag and a touch of silver eyeshadow on her lids.

Zhang Ziyi was yet another star who opted for Chtistian Dior Couture, only she chose a pant ensemble from the Fall 2012 collection and accessorized with Christian Louboutin striped black and clear pumps. Chtistian Dior definitely ruled the night.

Cara Delevingne once again stayed true to Burberry, wearing its black lace dress that she generously styled with Chopard jewelry and red paint on her nails and lips.

Another model who brought plenty of effortless glamour to the opening ceremony was Cindy Crawford. The supermodel wore slinky white Roberto Cavalli dress with golden neck embellishment and a plunging decolletage.

Actress Sonam Kapoor opted for a white and gold Anamika Khanna Couture gown she finished off with Jimmy Choo shoes and Sunita K jewelry.

Bringing a bit of drama to the red carpet, Fan Bingbing appeared wearing a pink satin Louis Vuitton gown with a long train and an embellished neck. The star carried a golden tassled Louis Vuitton clutch and wore Chopard jewelry.

Also with a bit of drama was Solange Knowles’ amazing Stéphane Rolland Couture dress from Fall 2012 collection, though neutral in color it featured cape and feather details. The singer accessorized who recently announced the launch of her own record label accessorized her look with Chopard jewels and Jimmy Choo clutch.

Zhang Yuqi looked definitely dramatic in electric green Ulyana Sergeenko couture gown with a plunging neckline and off-the-shoulder sleeves. The actress accessorized her look with red accents.

Finally, Freida Pinto who wore a one-of-a-kind pink Gucci dress looked radiant and playful. The dress featured a halterneck and an embellished belt while the accessories included Chopard earrings.

Christina Hendricks is simply amazing so, honestly, I look forward to every cover she’s on. This time the Mad Men star graces May 2013 cover of Flare magazine. Wearing a bright yellow dress the actress looks effortlessly chic as usual. She shared on dealing with rejection:

Karolina Kurkova shined on the red carpet in a literal sense. The Czech blonde wore a custom-made mini dress by Mary Katrantzou with a beautiful 3-D effect print. She complemented her statement outfit with pointed-toe pumps.

Hilary Rhoda combined a soft top with a tough bottom as she opted for a Wes Gordon ensemble, which included a black and gold lace blouse with a long trail and skinny leather pants. She styled her look with Kotur box clutch and strappy sandals.

Charlotte Casiraghi for Gucci Ad Campaign

The delicate feminine beauty of Charlotte Casiraghi was captured by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott for the latest Gucci campaign of “Forever Now” series. She appears very gentle, wearing the floral prints, which consist of a bouquet from 37 flower varieties. The original bouquet was created by Italian illustrator Vittorio Accornero with a “mesmerizing variety of blooms, from anemones to poppies, from ranunculi to iris, mixed with berries and butterflies, wasps, grasshoppers and dragonflies”.

The first “Forever Now” campaign appeared in 2010, which coincided with the 90′s anniversary of Gucci. Back then, the campaign was shot in classy black and white pictures. However, Flora prints have been reimagined with a help of Frida Giannini, who brought it back in 2005. And as pointed out by Giannnini herself this campaign also has a personal meaning for her, which she was willing to share:

“Today, Flora has become a symbol of the Gucci woman’s effortless fusion of tradition and contemporary poise,” as mentioned by the house’s creative director, Frida Giannini. “The print holds special meaning to me – I first discovered the scarf when my mother and grandmother would wear theirs during my childhood in the Seventies”.

The third installment of “Forever Now” by Gucci with incredibly gorgeous Charlotte Casiraghi was rumored to be out globally in newspapers and fashion magazine ads starting from March.

Lana Del Rey goes for Spanish style glamour as she covers L’Officiel Paris. The Blue Jeans singer dons Dolce & Gabbana, Rochas, Gucci, and Ralph Lauren Collection for the shoot completed with retro wave  hairstyle and red lips.

Kate Winslet is featured on Harper’s Bazaar April 2013 cover. The actress did a black and white photoshoot wearing beautiful dresses and impeccable winged eyeliner. Vanessa Paradis covered Harper’s Bazaar Russia dressed in white ensemble and holding a red umbrella.

Well, certainly the hot sunny colors would be cherished as they are appearing in various menswear collections of the season. These are the classy colors of Spring/ Summer season, and they were presented by Salvatore Ferragamo in vibrant orange and yellow and by Etro in metallic shades of orange and red, which appeared during the show of Ermenegildo Zegna.

So, the earthy tones are also abundant in collections for Spring 2013. As we see in Valentino collection, there is that rich brown hue, which is quite distinct. Browns are the theme also seen in Bottega Veneta, but these browns are more subtle. Hermes showcased classy brown in combination with moss green. Then we see ever-returning khaki, shown at Balmain, this time in a form of a summer coat, an essential thing in a wardrobe for this season.

Special notion deserve the prints and fabrics trends present during the shows for Spring/Summer 2013 season. Most in favor are satin, silk, shiny leathers, eye-popping metallic. The special attention deserves the key themes in terms of prints. There is a retro vibe and lots of abstract art as seen in Dolce & Gabbana and Burberry Prorsum collections; there are also floral prints, as spotted in Gucci show, and geometric prints displayed on the runway of Band of Outsiders.
