Harper’s Bazaar is the leader of best June covers. Harper’s Bazaar Spain tapped Cindy Crawford for their June issue. Styled by Juan Cebrian the photoshoot shows Cindy in a sunny California wearing designs from Roberto Cavalli, Michael Kors, and Vionnet. The supermodel attended the 2013 Cannes Film Festival opening ceremony and The Great Gatsby premiere wearing a sexy white Roberto Cavalli gown. Other Bazaars featured the The Great Gatsby star Carey Mulligan, model Marique Schimmel, model Jessica Amornkuldilok, and Sarah Jessica Parker.

The latter wore a striped Oscar de la Renta Spring 2013 gown for the cover and Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Dior, Ralph Lauren Collection for the spread.

Vogue is the runner up in our list of best June covers. There are three great ones – Vogue Japan the features Karlie Kloss clad in Saint Laurent posing to Hedi Slimane; Vogue Spain with Anja Rubik on the cover; and Vogue Russia with guest editor Dasha Zhukova.

Marie Claire has two great covers featuring Carrie Underwood in a printed fuchsia dress and a car and model Petra Nemcova showing off accessories in the camera. The model also shined on the Cannes red carpet wearing stunning dresses.

Emma Watson glamed up for W Magazine June/July 2013 cover. Wearing a Louis Vuitton blazer The Bling Ring star looks like a silver screen siren while her photoshoot brings a ton of glamour and inspiration thanks to vintage hair and beautiful dresses.

Christina Hendricks is simply amazing so, honestly, I look forward to every cover she’s on. This time the Mad Men star graces May 2013 cover of Flare magazine. Wearing a bright yellow dress the actress looks effortlessly chic as usual. She shared on dealing with rejection:

I’ve been to a million auditions and have been rejected a million times, so it’s something that I’m used to. You’re either right for it or you’re not right for it. You could leave thinking you had the best audition in the world and they say you don’t look like the person I imagined. It has nothing to do with your talent. Someone could have just broken up with a redhead the other day and not want to hire me.

Emily Blunt stuns on the May 2013 cover of InStyle, wearing a pink metallic Burberry Prorsum outfit and wet look hair. The star talks marriage, being thirty and her first action movie with the magazine, saying of Hollywood:

I see Hollywood as a bubble that you pop your head into every now and again. I never get fully immersed in it.

Cate Blanchett looks gorgeous on the black and white cover of Australian Harper’s Bazaar. The star talks fashion and arts in the interview and defends her style:

Couture is a cabinet of curiosities. It’s a place of experimentation and I think the red carpet is a great place to display it. I knew people would either hate that [2009 crochet Romance Was Born] dress or really love it. People get so worried about what everybody thinks. But I love Romance Was Born because they have a great anarchic freedom.

Carey Mulligan scored a few covers including Vogue US May 2013 cover where she is portrayed in the style of her latest movie heroine Daisy Buchanan. Mulligan talks about getting the role in the film as well as making the Great Gatsby. She also covers Flaunt Fabrication Issue and June 2013 issue of Harper’s Bazaar UK.

Speaking of Great Gatsby, Vogue Australia dedicated its May 2013 issue to the film, featuring Karlie Kloss in 20′s style look on the cover.

Kate Hudson looks amazing in red Gucci gown as she covers Elle UK May 2013. The star talks family, her fiance Matthew Bellamy and ballroom dancing. On the latter she commented:

Oh my God I love it. I’ve learnt the cha-cha and the tango. I’m having dresses made. Those colours and flounces are totally my guilty pleasure. The whole thing’s an excuse to go out on the dancefloor looking almost naked. With sequins. It’s so sexy.

Carey Mulligan in Prada Coat for Harper’s Bazaar UK June 2013 Issue

Carey Mulligan got a second chance to recover from her latest photoshoot for US Vogue May 2013 issue, where she was criticized for a boring facial expression and ugly outfit. This time the Great Gatsby actress became a cover girl of the Harper’s Bazaar UK June 2013 issue, which I fell in love with.

Stylist of this Harper’s Bazaar photoshoot managed to catch Carey’s inner world the best way, what allowed to reflect it in the utterly soft and touching photos. Shot by the lens of Tom Allen, Carey appears on a cover wearing the light pink Prada coat with chamomile appliqué while standing under a blooming cherry tree. As for the hairstyle and makeup in pastel shades, she wore the minimalistic makeup by Georgie Eisdell, while her hair was pulled into a tousled bun by Jenny Cho. All in all. this cover oozes a truly spring vibe along with delicacy and sensuality.

The subscriber’s cover comes in the black and white color palette. In the picture Carey is laughing with her closed eyes at the same place and with the same look. However, this shot makes a totally different impression and doesn’t exude that angelic vibe as its colored predecessor.

Carey Mulligan Covers Harper’s Bazaar UK June 2013

In the many-sided interview to the magazine Carey shared her thoughts about her husband, shooting Great Gatsby, music that inspires her, etc.

Carey Mulligan on meeting her husband Daniel Day Lewis:

He wrote me this beautiful handwritten note a couple of weeks afterwards just saying how nice it was to meet me and that he’d like An Education. His penmanship was beautiful. The note was the most beautiful thing. If my house was burning down I would save that. It is so precious.

LMFAO Party Rock Anthem on a set of Great Gatsby accompanied her throughout the shoot and gave her an energy boots:

That’s what we used to dance to. It’s also the song that made me laugh hysterically and there were lots of times when I needed to go into a scene with that kind of energy.

It is the second editorial by Carine Roitfeld in the position of the global fashion director of Harper’s Bazaar. Entitled “The Animal Nursery”, the magazine features a sixteen-page spread where Irina Shayk, Kate Upton, Senait Gidey, Tilda Lindstam and Soo Joo Park model in the garments from the Pre-Fall collection as they take care of the small animals in the military tent.
Few reactions by public:

This is disgusting use of an endangered infant primate to sell clothes. This poor gibbon was no doubt ripped from its mother in the wild, just to become the play item of a dumb fashion model. Really… what is the matter with people?

Endangered primates as accessories?! Makes the model unattractive, the stylist talentless, and the magazine more valuable as toilet paper.

Animals used in the photoshoot were rented from the Zoological Wildlife Foundation, which is based in Miami. Organization that portrays itself as an “organization dedicated to educating the public about rare and endangered animal species in captivity and in the wild” is actually engaged in demising the wild animals to the distinct private parties, events and photoshoots.

Even though the Zoological Wildlife Foundation has license and is inspected by the USDA on the regular basis, the public opinion as well as PETA’s seem to run counter to the authorities’ one.

PETA’s representative made an official statement on this point:

The gibbon featured in the photographs is an infant and should be with his mother at all times. Besides the emotional trauma that he has undoubtedly suffered as a result of the separation, his delicate immune system is still developing, and he is susceptible to illnesses that humans carry. All the animals in the photographs are endangered and should be protected, rather than being treated like props.

Anja Rubik

Anja Rubik in ad campaign for her shoe & accessory line with Giuseppe Zanotti

One of the most recent collaboration collections was designed by Anja Rubik and Giuseppe Zanotti. The model and designer shared their ‘skills and ideas’ in Zanotti’s attelier creating a 5-style footwear line and a handbag. The collection turned out beautiful and as it often happens Rubik modeled the entire line herself.

It’s not the first Rubik’s designer endeavor though as she already had an experience creating an accessory collection for Quazi in 2011.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley models her Marks & Spencer Spring/Summer 2013 lingerie collection

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley expressed her desire to design on more than one occasion but thanks to retailer Marks & Spencer and its lingerie department head designer Soozie Jenkinson Whiteley’s dream came true and she already launched her second lingerie line with the store. The line is full of pink sets, robes and babydolls.

The ‘Transformers’ star also said that she sees herself ‘designing’ in five or ten years and wants to have a jewelry, lingerie and cashmere lines. Well, that’s check for one.

Helena Christensen

Helena Christensen models her lingerie collection for Triumph

Helena Christensen is an original supermodel who has been on numerous magazine covers and in ad campaigns but the model also tried her hand in design when she created a lingerie line for Triumph. The line included some printed pieces, sexy lace tops and black strappy styles.

Now Christensen has got here eyes on a bag line she is set to launch in September with Belgium bag brand Kipling. The collection will include eleven styles and focus on floral print.

Iman

Iman models an Arm Candy bag from her Global Chic line

Supermodel Iman is a true style and fashion icon so it’s no wonder she has her own fashion line. Launched in 2011 With HSN Globalc Chic is a line of statement jewelry and accessories at affordable prices.

Iman thinks that jewelry and accessories add a lot more to the outfit and thus without them one ‘can never be fully dressed’.

Natalia Vodianova

Natalia Vodianova in ad campaign for her Etam lingerie collection

Natalia Vodianova just recently launched her second footwear collection with the Russian shoe brand Centro. The model designed the classic pumps to raise money for her charity Naked Heart Foundation.

The model has also been given an opportunity to design her own lingerie collections at Etam in 2009, which she used quite successfully.

Lily Aldridge

Lily Aldridge models her collection for Velvet by Graham & Spencer

Victoria’s Secret Angel Lily Aldridge has just recently designed a thirteen-piece collection with Velvet by Graham & Spencer. The model was asked to do a line after working ten years with the brand.

The line consists of dresses, casual tops and a military jacket that can easily be introduced into basic summer wardrobe.

Gisele Bundchen

Gisele Bündchen models her own lingerie line

Gisele Bündchen created a whole empire with all the lingerie, footwear, clothing and beauty lines she launched. The world’s richest supermodel has an iPANEMA Gisele Bündchen sandal line, Gisele Bündchen, Brazilian Intimites lingerie brand, and a beauty line under her belt.

But that’s not all she’s done. The model designed a clothing line with a Dutch retailer C&A in 2011 that included dresses, cropped blazers and other items.

Sophie Dahl

Sophie Dahl models her own collection for Brora

Sophie Dahl is another model who tried her hand in design. She created a line with a cashmere brand Brora, which consists of thirteen pieces like a a tea dress, jumper, cardigan, camisole, cigarette pants and others.

Besides her modeling career Dahl has written for fashion magazines like US and UK Vogues, Harpers Bazaar, and such editorials like The Saturday Times, The Observer and The Guardian.

Kate Moss

Kate Moss for Topshop Final Collection, Fall 2010

Kate Moss has been collaborating with Topshop for three years producing 14 collections in total from 2007 to 2010. Her lines included numerous minidresses and jackets. She released her last collection in 2010 along with Kate Iconic, a capsule line of her most popular designs.

Moss’ designs reflected the models’ style – a mix of grunge and boho chic – but there were also collections in nontypical for model floral prints and more feminine styles.

We showed you the best April magazine covers featuring models so now it’s time to talk about celebs who still continue landing fashion shoots and glossy covers. Our April heroines are Kate Winslet, Taylor Swift, Diane Kruger, Lana Del Rey and many others including Rihanna, Mila Kunis, and Selena Gomez.

Diane Kruger scored two covers this month as she appeared on Flare and Interview along with Sky Ferreira. The actress posed in Spring designs from Chanel, Bottega Veneta, and Louis Vuitton for Flare Magazine. She told Interview that she couldn’t continue as a model because she was unhappy.

Taylor Swift ditched her signature red lipstick for both covers she scored this month. For both InStyle and Vanity Fair covers the singer sports her bangs and white Spring dresses looking natural and sweet. She told InStyle that her former boyfriends can write songs about her too if they want to.

Lana Del Rey goes for Spanish style glamour as she covers L’Officiel Paris. The Blue Jeans singer dons Dolce & Gabbana, Rochas, Gucci, and Ralph Lauren Collection for the shoot completed with retro wave  hairstyle and red lips.

Kate Winslet is featured on Harper’s Bazaar April 2013 cover. The actress did a black and white photoshoot wearing beautiful dresses and impeccable winged eyeliner. Vanessa Paradis covered Harper’s Bazaar Russia dressed in white ensemble and holding a red umbrella.

Tatler Russia chose Amanda Seyfried to grace their April 2013 cover. The star looks amazing in that same dress by Dior that Daphne Groeneveld wears on cover of Harper’s Bazaar Spain April 2013.

Nicki Minaj ditched her extravagant style for Elle USA April 2013 cover. The rapper wears her blonde hair in wet styled hair completed with natural makeup. She said she ‘felt naked’ about her cover look since she is not used to go sans her signature pink lipstick and false eyelashes.

Last but definitely not least is Olivia Wilde who covered Marie Claire April 2013 in a beautiful blue dress. The actress talked about meeting her fiance Jason Sudeikis and about their first date. She also says that she cannot wait to have kids.

Lately celebrities have been elbowed by fashion models that used to grace magazines before the trend of putting celebrities on covers became widespread. Update: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley posed for Vogue Brazil’s April issue second year in a row wearing a fur jacket and a wide-brimmed hat. For the photoshoot the model changes into designs from Saint Laurent, Rodarte, Chanel and other designers.

Gomez is close friends with Taylor Swift and Emma Stone, besides she keeps communicating with her old friends from her home state Texas.

Gomez is probably the most successful young singer on the music stage. Besides finishing the upcoming album and getting prepared for the approaching word tour, she can boast the role in the Spring Breakers.

Selena on her style:

I do not give a damn what I look like, I don’t. I wish I could pay attention because Gwen Stefani, say, looks flawless. Of course, when I’m on red carpets, I’m nervous, sweaty, and weird.

Harper’s Bazaar UK March 2013 Biggest Issue Ever

Rachel Weisz covers Harper’s Bazaar UK March 2013, Biggest Issue Ever in a red Gucci dress and a matching lipstick. The actress talks in the interview about Daniel Craig, teenage years in London and playing the wicked witch in her latest movie Oz the Great and Powerful alongside Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams and James Franco. The star also poses by the pool wearing a gorgeous white Ralph Lauren dress with black frill sleeves and the designs from brands like Prada, Fendi, and Salvatore Ferragamo.

On playing the Wicked Witch of the East: “Because Evanora revels in her badness, she revels in Machiavellian-ness. I guess being bad is a lot of fun. I just watched ‘What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?’ for the very first time in my life last week. It blew my mind. It’s one of the most terrifying things I’ve ever seen, it’s psychological horror isn’t it? Terrifying. I love Bette Davis.”

On letting go while on set: “That’s what’s so great about acting, you’re not really responsible. I mean, I’m polite to everyone on set and I’m not a struggle to work with, but in terms of how you get to treat people, it’s carte blanche, because it’s fiction – no one’s really going to get hurt. And it’s a very joyful place to let go.”

The actress looks amazing as ever but that is not limited to the editorial, the star has a great red carpet style. She pulled off a sheer polka dot dress at the Golden Globes and demonstrated a string of stylish outfits while promoting her movie The Bourne Legacy.

Anne Hathaway For Harper’s Bazaar UK

Anne Hathaway covers Harper’s Bazaar UK’s February 2013 issue wearing designs from Alexander McQueen, Louis Vuitton and Dior. Since this is a film issue the editorial styled by Leith Clark is inspired by silver screen and old Hollywood.

The actress shared about her vision of herself, her marriage and being thirty. Her latest role of Fantine in Les Miserables won her the Best Supporting Actress award at 2013 Critics’ Choice Awards and an Oscar nomination on which she said:

I’ve received an extraordinary and unusual amount of love for playing this character. I’m still processing it. I’m so very grateful for every second. I had hoped to achieve an Oscar nomination in my life but to be 30 and have two — I don’t know what energy to thank.

On perception of herself: “I’m not Rihanna. I’m not cool. When people come to me in the street, they often want a hug not a photo, and they want that because they like my work. For a long time it was me and [my manager] against the world. I was seen as this bizarre-world good-girl cartoon that I in no way identified with – very vanilla, very sweet, very accessible and not interesting. I had no grit, no sex appeal.”

On being thirty: “It doesn’t help that the new crop of girls is so gorgeous and so 22 years old. But I’m excited about it.”

On marriage: “He walks into a room, and I light up. I can’t help it. A few days into [filming Les Misérables] I said ‘I’m having too much fun. I just want to play with you and I need to be really sad right now.’ I knew from the second I met him that he was the love of my life.”
