We all know the power of accessories. And if the ones are strong and vibrant they can change the whole look of yours.
Kenzo collection of accessories for winter 2010 is a very special one. It includes unusual handbags made of fur, suede and leather, embellished with sequins and adorned with clips and rivents. The technique of patchwork is used beautifully too. The colors are bright and very fresh and youthful.

Belts come in ordinary designs but there are some eccentric ones as well. I just love those with fur on buckles!

Shoes are nice but seem to be too dangerous to walk in. The platforms are huge and don’t look steady enough. The fur trimming looks chic.

Hats are very warm and stylish, but you can’t wear them with your classic coat, of course.

Hats are nice and are often necessary to wear. But I’m sure few women really know how to choose a perfect hat to match their outfit. Though this is very important because a hat as well as any other accessory can make you look great or terrible.

There are a few things you need to do when you want to select the right hat.
Take your time
Actually few women like wearing hats in everyday life. As a result, when they really need to don one, they are up a stump. Don’t feel afraid. Choosing the style, color and shape that’s right for you and your outfit, isn’t difficult if you know how, but it takes time.
Think of a large department store that offers a good selection of hats. When you are there try on every single style. Look at yourself from every angle to make sure you look good from each side.
Opt for the right color
Hat color is significant as it can make you look sensational and knock several years off your age or do quite an opposite thing.
Don’t try to match the hat to your entire outfit. As long as the color complements one of the shades in the attire or your accessories, it will look beautifully.

Elizabeth Taylor is reported to have ordered 28 hats from the same designer, Philip Treacy. Such a huge order was made because the Hollywood legend was impressed with Philip’s quick response to her fashion query.

Treacy says:
Her assistant called me up asking for hair pin and I sent her a message back asking if she wanted a hat to go with it. It turns out that she did – she wanted lots of them!”
Taylor met the royal milliner at a London hotel. While he tried to pick flattering hats for her to wear, the 81-year-old screen star entertained him with her songs and cocktails.
Treacy revealed:
We spent two evenings at her suite at The Dorchester hotel fitting them, looking in the mirror. She even sang a song for us and ordered us cocktails. She doesn’t need an excuse to buy that many, she invented celebrity extravagance.”
Treacy hats are very popular and Mrs Taylor isn’t the only celebrity to have requested one recently. Among other hat lovers we can mention Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, and Princess Eugenie, who both wore the creations by the exclusive designer at the Ascot horse races this week.

The British like celebrating the Ladies’ Day in a special way giving women a great chance to show their imagination and wear the most extravagant, outlandish and downright add hats.
This year was not an exception and as you can see by the pictures the hats were more than just unusual.

Let’s start from Princess Eugenie’s green hat. I just don’t understand why she had chosen this one for wear. It really looks like “a giant garden pea” perched on the front of the girl’s head. And the hat doesn’t go well to the whole attire. A strange option…
Princess Beatrice wore a subtle monochrome hat trimmed with one long feather. The hat looked elegant but absolutely invisible next to her sister’s garish creation. Princess Anne looked sophisticated wearing a simple lace-trimmed hat.

Penny Lancaster, a 38 year-old model, picked a simple wide-brimmed purple hat that looked great together with her apparel. Model Erin O’Connor was very classy wearing a nice black hat.

The economic downturn has affected all spheres of our life already and fashion industry is not an exception.
Now we will speak about hat trends and you will see that hats which are in style are too democratic and slipshod. I wonder if designers wished to create styles showing people don’t care much the whole planet is in trouble.

Well, generally if you feel you don’t want to purchase something new for the season just wear your classic fedora hat, a cap or a kerchief – all those which have been with us for a while. But what you have to forget is a beret, put it deeper into your closet for better times.
Let’s turn to trends at last. Hat Trends for Spring-Summer 2009!
Panama hat
Panama hat is a new thing for us and we don’t know exactly how to wear it yet. It looks great but you should wear it with chic as if you are wearing an elegant wide-brimmed hat. Otherwise you run the risk of looking a bit silly.

Panama hats are charming and they remind me of the 60s and the 70s. This hat style goes well with trenches, sporty windbreakers, denim clothes, cashmere cardigans, etc.
Fedoras in men style
As we have already mentioned this spring we see fedora hats again and now they are more in men style.

This item of our wardrobe makes us look confident and modern.

Accessories for women can be both tiny or massive and they can complement the attire or distract viewers’ attention from it.

When we talk about men accessories it is quite clear that they should just complement the whole image adding sophistication, chic and elegance.
For example, a belt of high quality can be enough to create a good look. But the watch richly encrusted with diamonds will hardly be in place.
So, the trendiest accessories for men for these spring and summer are the following:
Belts
The belt is going to be a hot trend for the warm season.

And it will be worn not just the way we are used to see it but over the trenches, cardigans or any other clothing item. It can match the color of the garments or go in contrast with it.
Hats

Panamas will become 100% popular as well as wide-brimmed hats in Latino style. They will serve both as a practical headpiece and a part of your image.
Sunglasses are a must in spring and summer. No matter which style of sunglasses you prefer you’ll look stylish and hot when wearing them.
The most popular design for this season is a la Jack Nicholson’s sunglasses with grey matted lenses as well as horn-rimmed and multicolored-rimmed sunglasses.

The fact men’s fashion gets closer to the women’s one is not new and accessories such as men’s shawls and decorative beads, which were chosen by many designers for the forthcoming seasons, just prove that once again.

Still getting ready for the Spring wardrobe 2009!
Dear girls, there’s a great variety of trends now offered by the designers at the New York Fashion Week 2009. And here are 5 must-have-top-garbs for the Spring 2009.
Floppy Wide Brimmed Hat

This is the first must-have accessory in your closet in Spring! No need to say it looks gorgeous! It will certainly shape your image into the glorious and glamour one.
The trendy Floppy Wide Brimmed Hat covers you with some kind with mystery as far as it half-hides and half-opens your face! It’s forsooth so feminine!
The Floppy Hat will perfectly go with short sets or with flared skirts and slim-silhouette-cocktail-dresses. All trendy colors are available!
Ruffle Tops

I think you’ll agree with me that the ruffle top makes the ordinary grey classic costume look tender and trendy! This season they are popular even more than in the previous one.
Don’t hesitate and try the ruffle top. The sort of these tops doesn’t need extra accessories otherwise you’ll get a quite ridiculous appearance. The chiffon ruffle top with a pencil skirt or jeans or shorts is extremely trendy for Spring 2009.
Double Breasted Vest

Fashion world offers us double breasted vests for one more season. I consider this garb to be appropriate for the numerous occasions.
The double breasted vest is the must-have for Spring 2009 because this men’s garment looks incredibly nice on women combining the tender women’s nature with the strong men’s character. Put the ruffle sleeveless top under the vest and you’re ready to go to the office!

Watching models on the catwalks you probably think about how beautiful they are and everything suits them so well. And often consider yourself a bit defective as you are not so tall and maybe a bit plump. But does it really make sense in a usual life? Of course, not. And if you choose clothes and accessories correctly you will certainly look good, possibly much better than those fashion icons! Everything depends on you only!

This post is about how to choose a hat if you are petite.
Don’t think that hats make you look even shorter. If you make an effort and select the hat that fits you well you’ll look perfectly.
So, here are some things you should take into consideration:
1. Face shape. If you have a long face choose wider hats with curled or floppy brims and avoid narrow brims, which can add length to your face.
If your face is round choose hats with high brims and angular shapes, avoid round, circular, or floppy-shaped hats and always choose hats that are wider than your face.
You are lucky if you have an oval face as you can get away with almost any style of hat. Experiment with a variety of styles to find what works best for you
2. Your height. Take into consideration your height as it is very important that your headwear match your figure proportions.
3. Choose hats with a small brim and low crown. The brims should not be wider than your shoulders.
4. Avoid big hats, which can be overpowering to small frames.
