Knowing what she wants:
In my early 20s, I didn’t know who I was or what I wanted… I was fed up with trying to be somebody else, and got really lucky and met a great guy [husband Josh Kelley] who loved me for me. I keep telling my friends, seriously, write down what you want and make it specific. Like, I’m talking, do you want a beach house in Venice? Be specific and be creative and define not only what you want in your career but what you want in your personal life.”
Being Honest:
Now I’ve got this moniker that I’m the foot-in-mouth gal, and I keep thinking, In what way? Because I said something you don’t agree with? Because I said something you don’t like? I’m just telling you my opinion. I hate the idea that I can’t be honest about how I feel about things because it’s going to piss somebody off who feels differently. That seems preposterous to me.”
Michelle Pfeiffer, 51, looks great for this age! The InStyle July 2009 hits newsstands on June 19.
She opens up in the July issue of InStyle magazine about her hew movie Cheri as she took a love interest 24 years her junior,
I so hate that term! Men are sugar daddies and women are cougars? Men are strong and women are bitches?”
Pfeiffer details the acts of romancing her much younger men:
It was a progression. Paul [Rudd] is 11 years younger. With Ashton [Kutcher, 20 years younger], I thought, I’m never going younger than this again….”
Then Stephen [Frears] called with Rupert [Friend, 24 years younger], and I thought, Oh my god. But at my age you either play the insane mother-in-law, the wife of the leading man, or the older woman. So of the three, it’s the most interesting choice. It helps if you have a sense of humor about it. Fortunately, all three men are really smart and really funny. And really cute.”

Rachel Bilson decided to diversify her life by starting her own page named Ask Rachel for InStyle magazine.
She will write a Q&A, and try to answer reader’s questions concerning all areas of style. The actress will profile her favorite Spring items, including Lela Rose for Payless flats, Lanvin sandals, and Matta scarves.
But this is not a job that Bilson is going to do full-time:
I am not planning on quitting my day job to be a full-time fashion editor, although I am really enjoying it and it intrigues me very much, I’m actually flattered more than anything that people want to ask me questions about style. I am honored to do it.”
Rachel seems to have her own feeling of style. When she was asked if it’s OK to wear a big shoulder bag with a cocktail dress, she responded:
You can absolutely wear a large purse with a party dress. In fact, I prefer it. Of course, it shouldn’t be the size of a carry-on, and anything with an overly large strap is too casual. But a funky purse can offset the fuss of fancy.”
