Gisele Bundchen (Check out Gisele’s photo gallery), who has again been named the highest-paid model, said in an interview that she wanted to create lingerie pieces which would be fashionable and comfy at the same time. The model, who had never worked on a collection of underwear before, found the process challenging but very interesting.

This is what the Brazilian beaty said about the collaboration and designing:

C&A invited me to create a collection that has my signature personal style. It was really cool being involved in the design side of the fashion business. It is more fun to be part of the process and not just a model. My goal with the collection is for it to look fashionable and be super comfy.”

Gisele Bundchen has not only designed for C&A, she also has her own eco-friendly beauty range, Sejaa Pure Skincare, and a footwear line for Ipanema.

The Ipanema Sandals 2011 ad campaign isn’t the best-looking campaign I’ve ever seen. Gisele is photographed sitting and lying on the background covered with colorful drawings. Her sandals are featured right beside her. For me these adverts don’t look attractive at all. But for Gisele I would never notice them.

Gisele Bundchen launched the 2011 Ipanema sandal collection on Wednesday in Istanbul, Turkey. The newly-designed range includes two basic styles Butterfly and Hot Beaches.

Gisele doesn’t only model things, she also participates in their creation. She has recently launched a flip flop collection with Ipanema. The girl says it was inspired by marine life the protection of which is important for her as she is fasinated by turtles. All profits from the sales of the footwear go to the Tamar Project, an organisation which studies and protects sea turtles.

The supermodel said:

It all began when I was at my home in Costa Rica. I saw the turtles were dying. These animals are essential to marine life. They’re part of the ecosystem. That’s why we started looking for a project that supported the continued existence of the species. We hit on the Tamar project.”

Talking about how the process of making the sandals takes place Gisele revealed:

I do as much as I can. It’s a collaboration. I’m not a designer, but I throw myself into everything else. I come up with ideas, I meet the designers, I tell them what I want and once everything comes together, I give the final approval. The shoes have sentimental value because they reflect the things that matter to me.”

The presentation of the range was held at Grand Hotel Intercontinental on Thursday (April 8) in Paris, France. Gisele was wearing a pretty mini-dress by Herve Leger.

In the interview during the launch party the Brazilian supermodel said she would never be able to become a fashion designer because has no necessary skills or the patience to create clothes and accessories full-time.

Gisele said:

I am very inspired by nature and like to use that for my ideas, but actually designing them – no way. I would be a disaster.”

However, working on her flip-flop collection was interesting for her. And she was very concerned about the fact the footwear was environmentally-friendly.

She told WWD:

Nature is very close to my heart, and it is important for me that people who buy my flip-flops are made aware of the environment.”

This footwear is a mix of various styles of life and a good blend to tired feet.
Tha PVC material is eco friendly and very soft.
