A little white dress is a perfect item for warm seasons which explains why so many designers included interesting and fashionable white dresses into their Spring/ Summer 2012 collections. These dresses come in different shades of white, from snowy white to creamy white. And styles vary from simple and straight to girlie and cute, adorned with frills, sequins and finished with asymmetrical hemlines.

Badgley Mischka, Givenchy and Betsey Johnson decorated their little white dresses with peplums. Oscar de la Renta, Moschino and Roccobarocco played with lace and floral print. Louis Vuitton, Jason Wu and Marchesa used feathered elements to make their dresses more beautiful and unusual.

Vionnet and Bebe featured asymmetrical hemlines. Victoria Beckham, Andrew Gn and Jean Paul Gaultier opted for an open shoulder style. And Versace and John Richmond beautified their little white dresses with glittering studs.

Most of little white dresses presented by designers for Spring/ Summer 2012 fashion season come in mini lengths and will be ideal for young girls with slender legs. There are midi versions too, which are more demure but still very sexy.

Some of these little white dresses can make a statement on their own due to unique and eye-catching elements they feature. Others, simpler ones, need to be accessorized to become attention-grabbers. For example, Giambattista Valli dress with fur detail looks impressive without any bracelets, necklaces or bags. But Jason Wu frock with a peter-pan collar should be complemented with a black belt and a tiny clutch for an elegant look.

Of course, these are not all the white dresses from Spring/ Summer 2012 collection but they are the most amazing, in my opinion. Tell me which you like the most and which you think I should add to the list.

I would like to start from Emma Stone who has become one of my favorite actresses. She really deserves every award she receives and she always looks fabulous on the red carpet. At the 17th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards she wasn’t honored but The Help movie she starred in was hugely praised. Emma wore an emerald green Jason Wu gown to the event.

Kirsten Dunst opted for a chic black dress from Christian Dior Spring/ Summer 2012 collection. She looked amazing.

Elle Fanning also was in attendance. She wore a floral-printed Rodarte gown to the 17th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards.

Black color was a hit at the 17th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards. Evan Rachel Wood went for a black floor-length dress by Valentino which she teamed with shoes and a clutch from the same brand.

Young starlet Chloe Moretz turned heads with her chic Chanel dress.

Elizabeth Olsen appeared at the 17th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards in a bright yellow Emilio Pucci dress which looked wonderful on her figure.

Charlize Theron wore a luxurious black Alaia gown to the ceremony. Bulgari accessories complemented her look nicely.

Dianne Kruger looked lovely at the 17th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards in a long Prada dress. I think she is one of those celebrities who always looks good on the red carpet.

Michelle Williams, who was lucky to play gorgeous star of the past Marilyn Monroe, looked spectacular in a black-and-white dress by Chanel.

Spring/ Summer 2012 Dress Trend #1: Airy maxi dresses. Maxi dresses are always in vogue but during Spring/ Summer 2012 season it is airy maxis that will be top trendy. Made of chiffon, taffeta, organza and other sheer fabrics maxi dresses come in colorful prints. D&G and Emilio Pucci offer us multilayered dresses with scarf-inspired prints, Just Cavalli and Naeem Khan go for leopard and polka dots while Roccobarocco simply combines contrast colors.

Spring/ Summer 2012 Dress Trend #2: Mini dresses. While some ladies opt for airy maxi dresses others will definitely want to show more of their bodies and trendy mini dresses will help them a lot with this. Paco Rabanne, Balmain and other designers have made a variety of super mini dresses in different colors and designs.

Spring/ Summer 2012 Dress Trend #3: Midi-length dresses. Midi-length dresses are perfect for those who dislike maxi dresses but feel shy or inappropriate to wear mini dresses. Midi dresses look good on women of all ages and can be good for many occasions. In a dress from Giorgio Armani you can visit a red carpet event. Victoria Beckham’s tight-fitting midi will look perfect at a book launch or a store opening and a stylish Etro will make you feel gorgeous everywhere you go.

Spring/ Summer 2012 Dress Trend #4: Glittering dresses. If you want all attention centered at you just go for one of glittering dresses designers provided in plenty for Spring/ Summer 2012. Try a silver or gold dress or find a bolder option in green, red or blue. Elie Saab designed fantastic sequined gowns. Giorgio Armani made a few dresses in color of liquid metal. And Paco Rabanne worked with iridescent hues.

Spring/ Summer 2012 Dress Trend #5: Asymmetrical hemlines. Asymmetrical hemline is a big Spring/ Summer 2012 trend which extends not only to dresses but to various tops and coats, too. Mary Katrantzou made a number of fabulous dresses with trains. Missoni cut hemlines to one side, while majority of designers simply re-invented a mullet dress (which has been a hot Winter 2012 trend).

Spring/ Summer 2012 Dress Trend #6: Floral-printed dresses. Floral print is very trendy during Spring/ Summer 2012. Delicate and small or large prints look feminine and very beautiful. Every brand from Valentino to Proenza Schouler and of course Anna Sui (who nearly every season uses the print in her collections) have used it. And some, like Iceberg, even combined different floral prints together.

Spring/ Summer 2012 Dress Trend #7: Lace dresses. Lace has been a trend since last spring but it doesn’t lose its popularity in Spring/ Summer 2012. Lace has become more delicate though. Erdem, Preen, Oscar de la Renta, Bebe and other designers and brands used lace in their ranges.

Spring/ Summer 2012 Dress Trend #8: White dresses. Like in every warm season white dresses are among favorites during Spring/ Summer 2012. They come in different fabrics and styles but always look lovely.

Spring/ Summer 2012 Dress Trend #9: Peplums. Just like lace peplums are not new in vogue. They have been with us for a couple of seasons and will stay for Spring/ Summer 2012. Peplums have become bigger and bolder and now come on both casual and evening dresses. Versace peplums are long and flat. Badgley Mischka, Alexander McQueen and Jason Wu made more voluminous peplums. And Rodarte peplums are very puffy.

Spring/ Summer 2012 Dress Trend #10: Frills. Spring/ Summer 2012 collections have many dresses with frills and pleats. While some look neat and classy others are huge and eye-catching.

And of course Spring/ Summer 2012 collections abound with evening dresses which are luxurious and sophisticated, perfect for a red carpet event or an important occasion.

If you like sleek bags, classy without too many details and accessories then you would like Jason Wu handbag collection for Fall/Winter 2011/2012. Wu has went for bags with simple and clean lines yet has decorated them with one or two details to jazz up the look. If you want a bold bag there are plenty of colors to choose from. Vibrant satin clutches, deep hued leather clutch bags with metallic decorations and bold shoulder bags with big fasteners and chain straps. These handbags will definitely go well with Jason Wu shoes from Fall/Winter 2011/2012 collection.

The color range of the collection is great. You get to choose from classic black and white or monochrome combination of these two, bright blues and reds, and neutral browns. Shoulder bags and handbags feature minimum decorations, just occasional metallic and leather details.

Some clutches are decorated with same details as the shoes but in a more elaborate way so a pair of clutch and shoes will look harmonic but not entirely identical. The everyday shoulder bags and handbags are medium size and their design allows you wearing them both with casual and dressy outfits. Satin clutches are definitely for the evening but they are simple styled featuring a big fastener.

I very much liked the chain-strap leather shoulder bags with decorated corners and fastener in black, white, brown and deep red. The metallic chain looks stylish while the bags’ boxy shape looks quite sharp. Classy monochrome handbags are beautifully styled. Some can be held or worn on the shoulder, while others feature only a handle.

Overall the collection looks nice and it greatly corresponds with the shoes. The details in both are similar but not same so you can easily mix and match them as you want.

Jason Wu footwear collection for Fall/Winter 2011/2012 is gorgeous. Sleek and elegant designs make it perfect for evening wear yet there are some eye catchy details that won’t make these shoes go unnoticed. Made from satin, calfskin or lacquered leather they all have something else to show off like a spike sleek heel or a metallic detail on that spot where the heel gets scratched most of all. As opposed to Jason Wu‘s Spring/Summer 2011 futuristic footwear collection of mostly heeled platform shoes the Fall/Winter 2011/2012 collection looks classy and tamed down, yet it’s not plain.

The Fall/Winter 2011/2012 styles that Jason Wu offers us come in classic black but also in an array of bold satin hues as well as gold foil finish. There are sandals, pumps, and ankle booties that come with heel or strap details. Abby ankle boots though come with jewelry detail at the hem and same metallic detail on the heel.

The satin range Frida comes in an extensive color palette. There are classic black and nude, but also mustard, deep red, electric blue and turquoise. A nice addition to this classic evening footwear is that it comes with metal spike heels. Shoes in golden foil finish come in pump and sandal styles in Heloise and Catherine series. If you like the calfskin finish there is a pair of black pumps in Heloise range and ankle booties in Abby in deep red hue. Lacquered finish can be found in Catherine and Heloise ranges in pointed deep red sandal with a black spike heel and deep red pump (first picture above) with black heel detail.

There are quite a few trends in Jason Wu Fall/Winter 2011/2012 collection. Spike heels are definitely on trend the upcoming season as well as satin and calfskin. The models at Jason Wu Fall 2011 RTW fashion show have worn these shoes with dotted pantyhose or bare feet with such outfits as classic creased trousers, midi A-line and full skirts, cocktail and evening maxi dresses.

Alessandra Ambrosio arrived at the ceremony held at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall in New York City wearing an impressive red Prabal Gurung gown. She expressed her joy with the fact the designer had won the Best New Designer Of The Year award by twitting:

Omg @prabalgurung just won best new designer of the year!!! I feel so lucky to be chosen to wear his amazing dress!!! Love him!!”

Chanel Iman looked fantastic in her turquoise dress.

Karolina Kurkova probably decided it was too boring to wear a classy dress to the 2011 CFDA Awards. So, she opted for a glittering emerald-green hooded gown. She accessorized her look with Atelier Swarovski by Hariri and Hariri ring and Atelier Swarovski by Rodrigo Otazu cuffs and collar necklace.

Miranda Kerr opted for a chic Michael Kors floor length skirt and a matching cashmere black strap bodysuit.

Eniko Mihalik opted for a black look, too. She appeared at the 2011 CFDA Awards in a simple black halter gown.

Karlie Kloss was accompanied at the ceremony by Jason Wu who had also designed her sexy dress.

Doutzen Kroes opted for an asymmetrical red gown which she teamed up with a pair of lace Louboutin ankle boots.

Hana Soukupova was traditional in the choice of her attire for the 2011 CFDA Awards. She wore a luxurious Marchesa dress.

Celebrity fashionistas hesitated for a while and then took the plunge. Since then on everyone from Salma Hayek to Rachel Zoe wear turbans and look and feel wonderful.

The brightest turbans for Spring/ Summer 2011 you can find in Issa collections. They come in a variety of neon colors which range from lemon yellow to magenta. The designer suggests us wearing her turbans with chic evening gowns, romantic dresses and high-waist pants teamed with cropped tops which leave the midriff bare.

Jason Wu’s turbans were in two tones only – black and blue. Pretty simple and versatile, these looked great with any outfit the designer created.

Giorgio Armani also stuck to black and blue but made his turbans different. Some were ordinary and could be worn to any events while others were smart and would work perfectly for special occasions.

Andrew Gn used the ’70s-era Bianca Jagger look to design his turbans and matched those to colors of the garments.

Milly’s turbans come printed which gives you certain restrictions on how to wear those. If you go for a colorful turban your outfit should be simple. Be careful with the balance. Too much of color or patterns doesn’t look good.

As you can see turbans were represented in many Spring/ Summer 2011 collections. And each designer has his own vision of a modern woman wearing turban. Some prefer the classics way of wearing this headpiece and of course there are those who offer us unique ways of rocking this accessory. It’s all up to you what to choose.

Full skirts. For Spring/ Summer 2011 fashion season we see the return of full skirts that used to be hot in 1970s. Shorts. Shorts are comfy while being very stylish, which makes them so popular with women all over the world. In Spring/ Summer 2011 designers offer customers a great variety of shorts designs, from those ready to be worn to office to quite short and daring pairs.

Shirt-dresses. While the combination of words seems to be ridiculous the pieces of this style look very pretty on the Spring/ Summer 2011 runway. Maxi dresses. This type of dresses never goes out of vogue. Every fashion season we see many floor-sweeping gowns on the runway but in Spring/ Summer 2011 the number of maxis has increased significantly. Dresses have become airier, lighter, and more flowing. And majority of items come with prints.

White dresses. White is always one of the most popular colors but for Spring/ Summer 2011 it is one of the hottest trends. And it is most notable on dresses, both short and long. Dresses come in minimalistic style, with frills and fringing, sheer and trimmed with lace.

Fringing. Fringe is an interesting trend. It can transform the look into a real work of art or ruin it completely. Softer version of fringing looks cute and womanly. But fringe on cowboy-inspired garments looks more brutal and tougher.

Belts. Extensive use of belts has become fashionable last season and until now belts do not lose their popularity. Wear a belt with a dress to accentuate your midriff, pair it with a skirt or trousers to finish the look, or add a piece to make the outfit more unusual.

Minimalism. While many interesting details that decorate women’s clothes have been created some ladies still prefer to wear minimalistic garments in Calvin Klein’s style. It is good time to go now as during Spring/ Summer 2011 fashion season minimalism is an essential trend.
