If a couple of years ago celebrities believed having their own fragrance was cool, today they all long for having their own shoe line. Following in the footsteps of Cheryl Cole, Rachel Bilson, and Jessica Simpson Halle Berry has designed a collection of sandals named the 5ths Avenue by Halle Berry.

To produce the footwear Halle Berry teamed up with German retailer Deichmann Shoes. The collection that will go on sale in March includes 40 limited edition shoes with peep toes and wedge heels, sandals with straps and high heels as well as sling sandals on wedge heels.

Halle Berry says creating this collection was important for her:

Women have always loved shoes. It’s like if your hair is not right and your shoes are not right, the woman is not right. If both of them are right, you’re pretty much OK.”

She also mentioned that shoes are indicative of a woman’s mood and plans:

And shoes are a statement. They can be very sexy; they can say something about where you are in the day; they can say what your mood is; they give you a chance to accessorize.”

The actress told she had sort of obsession with shoes:

And I’m a girl that loves to change my shoes all the time. It’s an expression of who you are really. I’m a girl if I find a shoe that I really like I like to get them in all colours. I’m big on that.

Hale Berry also spoke about the Deichmann commercial to promote her shoe line:

I like the concept of it. It really relates to my life and who I am as a person and what I do for a living. And I think there’s kind of a fun element to it. And it also speaks to my love of shoes.”

The German brand Halle Berry has collaborated with to create her collection of shoes is also more than happy to work with the star. The company’s owner Heinrich Deichmann said:

We are very pleased that Halle Berry is our new partner. She is an internationally renowned artist and a global style icon.”

Berry isn’t the first celebrity to sign a contract with Deichmann. Cindy Crawford, Pussycat Dolls and the Sugababes used to promote its shoes.

Jessica Simpson has told WWD:

I will be part of designing my own wedding gown.”

And it seems that her mother will be a part of that as well, because the two have been very close to each other.

Jessica commented:

I couldn’t do this without my mom. We have the same eye. [She's] been my stylist since I was born.”

Jessica Simpson has always used her mother’s advice in designing. They both approve items in the Jessica Simpson line.

Explaining how it worked Tina Simpson said:

It’s a three-step process. We see it at the beginning design stage. We’ll give our inspiration and our color palette. And then, mid-design, they bring to us what they’re working on, and then we have final approval.”

Then she added:

The biggest thing … is we just don’t walk in and put Jessica’s name on something and walk away.”

1. Victoria Beckham. She has never been a good singer or performer so we all heaved a sigh of relief when she left the stage and occupied herself with designing. Her first attempts can hardly be called successful. She was criticized and named mediocre but thanks God she didn’t quit.

And now she presents her fabulous collections together with fashion moguls like Marc Jacobs, Diane von Furstenberg and Oscar de la Renta. She doesn’t consider herself a professional though and says she still has a lot to learn.

2. Gwen Stefani. She is a fantastic singer but she has always been notable for her outfits as well. Very attractive and sexy her style has been imitated by her fans and even fellow celebrities. And who could think she was the person behind those looks.

Since an early age Gwen Stefani has been remaking her dresses and other clothing pieces in order to look more modern and polished. When she felt she wanted this on a bigger scale she started L.A.M.B. fashion line, which is now loved by millions. Gwen isn’t going to stop on what she’s already achieved. She longs for more and we can only encourage her.

3. Jessica Simpson. She’s built a fashion empire worth a billion dollars but couldn’t develop her own style. She designs wonderful pieces but dresses like a slob. We don’t know what her problem is but we do know Jessica is good at designing, much better than in singing and probably this is why she is focused on fashion now.

She has said the secret of her success in fashion industry is that she creates things for real women, not for celebrities, because real women often can’t look like celebrities no matter how much they aspire to it.

4. Justin Timberlake. No one could expect that Justin would become a fashion designer but in 2006 he teamed up with a friend Trace Ayala and the two launched William Rast label.

Since then on every season the duo have presented their ranges that are a big success with Timberlake’s fans and fashionistas all over the world.

5. Jennifer Lopez. She launched her first fashion line in 2003 and since then a few more ranges were presented to public. However, her fame of a singer overshadows the popularity of her fashion designs. But while Jennifer hasn’t succeeded in selling her clothes she has made good money on perfume. People love her fragrances and each year she sells loads of bottles.

This list could also include such stars as Madonna, Dannii Minogue, Beth Ditto and others but I want to stop here because the five mentioned above have made a lot and they really deserve being named the best.

Explaining the secret of her success in business Jessica Simpson says she thinks about what people really want, and that’s not always looking like a celebrity.

Jessica Simpson explained:

Judging by the way it goes Jessica Simpson will soon built a fashion empire worth a billion. How come she earns so much? Well, she’s got 22 lines of shoes, accessories, denim, swimwear, watches, and fragrances. Women from 14 to 40 love her and take her as a style icon but at the same time she looks pretty ordinary and close to people.

Vince Camuto, founder and CEO of Camuto Group, which is the brand’s master licensee explained:

She is the girl next door and has great product that surrounds her. People like her. People look at her as a style icon.”

Jessica Simpson’s first ever line was launched in 2007 and since then she’s made millions of dollars on her designs. She will actually become the first ever celebrity who’s earned so much from retail sales.

Let’s begin duscussing my 10 Top Unstylish Celebrities list:

#10. Katie Holmes. She thinks she looks stylish all the time. And she always talks about fashion and her young fashion genius Suri. However, here I am saying she isn’t fashionable and she can’t combine clothes. I remember just a few occasions where Katy looked good.

#9. Cameron Diaz. She is a fantastic actress but fashion is obviously not her strong point. Her dresses are often shapeless and hide the figure everyone wants to see. Cameron’s everyday style is even worse.

#8. Kristen Stewart. I love The Twilight saga and Kristen acting in it. But it seems that acting is the only thing I like about this girl. Her fashion choices are in 99% of cases fail to impress.

#7. Mischa Barton is a girl more famous for her weight fluctuations rather than style. She just can’t look good even in the best dress in the world. There is always something wrong about her look: attire, shoes, jewelry, headband, etc.

#6. Britney Spears. I used to be a fan of Britney when I was younger. I thought she was the most gifted and fashionable girl. And now I’m grown up and see that Britney isn’t that scrupulous about clothing she wears. Probably this is her family drama or something else that influenced her, but she is #6 on my list and she deserves that.

#5. Jessica Simpson. When Jess was slimmer she looked good. Now with her new curves she doesn’t. The problem is that Jessica still believes she is slim and opts for garments that hug her body too tight. Somebody, tell her to look in the mirror!

#4. Lindsay Lohan. I know I might be too cruel to include Lindsay into the list of the unstylish celebrities in this very period but it would be unfair to other women if I missed her here. Lindsay Lohan designs interesting leggings and some of her dresses look nice but when she gets dressed she forgets everything she knows about fitting and designs.

#3. Peaches Geldof. She looks bad nearly all the time and I was very surprised when Miss Ultimo invited her to represent their teenage line. She chooses unflattering baggy dresses, too short hotpants, disgusting swimwear… Well, she is #3.

#2. Amy Winehouse. I can’t deny Amy is special and some extremes are a norm for her. But wearing the same pink flats everywhere for… oh, I don’t even know how long, it is too much. Doesn’t she have money to buy footwear? And clothing Amy Winehouse prefers to wear doesn’t flatter her at all.

#1. Courtney Love – celebrity who thinks she is very good in bed but unattractive in appearance. This woman wears everything that doesn’t look good on her. I have never seen Courtney in a beautiful outfit. So, she is the winner, the top unstylish woman in the world!!!

Of course, this is just my opinion but I do have the right to express it unless it doesn’t hurt anyone. So, what can you say about these celebrities? Do you agree with me they are the least stylish? Any other stars to add?

Just yesterday I wrote about a fashion faux pas of Jessica Simpson who arrived at LG Fashion Touch party wearing one of Victoria Beckham’s creations. While the dress itself looked classic and stylish the songstress was too big to fit in it with grace.

But today I’m here with another set of photos of Jessica. This time she looks perfect. She was finally able to choose a dress that seemed to have been specially designed for her curvy figure.
The star appeared on the red carpet of the Alliance For Women In Media’s 2010 Gracies Awards in Beverly Hills, California wearing a sumptuous sparkling one-shoulder dress. She accessorized her look with a silver clutch and golden earings and bracelets.

The former Spice Girls star looked fabulous in a ‘Cloud Dress’ from her own Fall/ Winter 2010/ 2011 collection. The dress was a short version of the full-length gown Posh wore to the Oscars in March.

Eva Longoria wasn’t as glamorous as she usually is, unfortunately. Her choice for the party was a bizarre unflattering frilly mini-dress.

For the ‘night of fashion and technology’ Vanessa Hudgens opted for a cute sky-blue strapless mini and looked fantastic in it!

As for Jessica Simpson, she didn’t look good at all. I can’t say anything bad about her dress. It was pretty and stylish and there is nothing surprising in this as Victoria created it. But Jessica seems to be unaware of any rules of dressing right. Her curvy figure looked too huge in a tight-fitting classic dress.

Returning to the party we can also say that LG company appreciates Victoria and Eva’s work a lot.
