2013 GLAAD Media Awards Fashion

GLAAD Media Awards that were already held in New York in March will also be conducted in San Francisco next month.

The winners that night included the show The New Normal that was nominated along Glee and Modern Family for an Outstanding Comedy Series award, Raising Hope for Outstanding Individual Episode, former President Bill Clinton for First Advocate for Change and many others.

The show hosted by Drew Barrymore and also saw such celebs as Betty White, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Jennifer Lawrence who was presenting an award to Bill Clinton.

The fashion at the carpet was mostly classic in black and white. Charlize Theron who was also a presenter that night opted for a black Jason Wu jumpsuit she accessorized with Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry and a bright pink lipstick. Golden belt added an accent to the total black look.

The show performer Kelly Rowland sported a contrasting total white trouser ensemble with a semi sheer top and platform shoes. When Love Takes Over singer accessorized her look with golden jewelry, ever fashionable top knot and peach pink manicure.

Jennifer Lawrence went for a short black David Koma dress with a sheer neck and a drop waist design. The Hunger Games star finished her look with black and white Nicholas Kirkwood open sandals, a Roger Vivier bag and David Webb jewelry.

The actress demonstrated a new haircut that night. Her waved bob looked playful with that little black David Koma dress and bright manicure.

Jewelry designer Delfina Delettrez created a UFO-inspired Fall 2013 collection full of amazing pieces that include statement earrings, bracelets and rings decorated with pearls, colorful stones, and angled geometric shapes.

The designer told Fashionista that the inspiration for it came from the fascination with unknown and the supernatural. The stones used in the designs include topaz, with which the designer worked for the first time, and quartz.

The ad campaign for the collection is also styled in a very unusual way. The jewelry pieces are floating in the air or worn by 3D created models set against the blue sky. The bright pieces stand out against the white background.

Delfina Delettrez is a fourth generation of Fendi family. After working at Chanel style department she decided to learn more about jewelry design and launched her own line in 2007. Thanks to various influences and inspiration sources Delettrez creates bold jewelry from such materials like gold, silver, resin, pearls, woods, crystals and many others including precious stones.

Her Spring/Summer 2013 collection called Infinity features bolder bracelets, necklaces and playful rings which greatly differs from this refined and still playful and trendy collection.

Take a look at the fashionable three finger ring, the style that has been everywhere for the last couple of seasons. Delettrez decorated it with stones in different colors and shapes making for an ultimate accessory. The rhomb-shaped earrings are bound to draw attention and become a bright accent in any look.

There are also beautiful earrings with big bright stones and rings with small stones molded into them as if they were part of them all along. The stones are enhanced with gold and silver metals as well as smaller and bigger pearls that add a playful touch to the designs.

Supermodel Annemara Post fronts an incredible Swarovski Crystallized Spring 2013 campaign showing off the beautiful collection of jewelry pieces from the brand celebrated for its sparkly crystals. The model was photographed by Mario Schmolka against the building wall as a background wearing exquisite clothing pieces made from flowing fabrics and lace and of course the necklaces, bracelets and beautiful statement rings.

Swarovski Crystallized Spring 2013

Swarovski is known for their modern jewelry that isn’t as conservative as jewelry of other luxury brands. Their designs are more relaxed and can be worn casually as well as there are red-carpet-worthy designs.

Besides classic style pieces there were some modern neon accessories which are perfect for the Spring/Summer season. There is a set of neon yellow necklace, earrings, and bracelets which can be used to accessorize almost any look this Spring. It’s a little more casual than the crystal-encrusted pieces as it features matte stones.

Other pieces include statement neclkaces with dark blue crystals. In one of these necklaces the big blue crystals are combined with smaller pink ones at the front while the rest of it comes in a ribbon form. The necklace comes with a matching statement bracelet and the set is finished with encrusted hoop earrings.

There is also a golden statement necklace encrusted with a few crystals that is definitely to steal attention at some evening outing. The dramatic piece is worn over a white blouse which tones it just a bit down but pair it with a gown and all attention is yours.

The collection has some nice pieces for everyday wear as well. Thin tennis bracelets decorated with crystals are perfect to wear with more relaxed outfits and they easily transforme into evening accessories as well.

Vanity Fair Oscar 2013 Party

Zooey Deschanel looked ethereal in her wispy beige Valentino gown. The New Girl star accessorized her outfit with a chain handle bag and a statement ring. The actress had her long hair up in a side-parted faux bob which made for a chic finishing touch.

The gown is amazing and features delicate floral embroidery which also outlines the neck making for faux collar. The thin matching bow belt also accessorizes the dress.

Lily Collins looked simply stunning in a sprakling blue Zuhair Murad gown with an open back and a beautiful lace bodice. The actress wore blue Takat earrings, which complemented the dress while the two statement rings with matching blue stones comepleted a jewelry ensemble.

Looking confident the star posed for the pictures showing all the elements of her stunning dress which also included a train and long lace sleeves.

Leslie Mann looked gorgeous at Vanity Fair Oscar 2013 Party in an orange red Andrew Gn dress with a decorated neck and long sleeves. The actress accessorized the look with matching Irene Neuwirth jewelery, contrasting Bottega Veneta clutch, and Roger Vivier shoes.

The look was greatly pulled together, the matching jewelry, the stand out clutch. The dress decoration is simply eye-drawing making for a great detail in a minimalistic design.

Hilary Swank opted for a dramatic red gown for the party. Consisting of sheer layers of red tulle and lace the gown has a long train and a sheer skirt. The actress accessorized it with a small white clutch and some jewelry.

Her hair was styled in screen siren retro side waves making for an ultimate chic look. Her other accessories were minimal and included a ring and a set of earrings.

Natalie Portman who herself won an Oscar back in 2011 for her work in Black Swan attended the Vanity Fair Oscar 2013 Party wearing Dior and accessorizing with Anna Hu jewelry.

The actress who not long ago became a mom has taken a break from acting but continues to fulfill her duties as Dior anbassador. The actress recently shot an ad for Miss Dior Cheri perfume.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley looked amazing in her blush Valentino dress which she wore with Alexandre Birman shoes and clear studded clutch. The model who recently appeared on Vogue Spain’s 25th anniversary March 2013 issue cover, wore jewelry designs from XIV Karat, Graziela Gems and Melinda Maria.

Gorgeous model-turned-actress finished her look with a bright pink lipstick which complemented her dress and wore her lush locks in side-parted loose waves.

The stars like Kate Beckinsale, Jennifer Lawrence, Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Naomi Watts, Jane Fonda, Diane Kruger, Rose Byrne, Diane Von Furstenberg and many others also attended the party.

New Jewelry Piece by Anna Sheffield

Anna Sheffield is a famous jewelry designer, who started out in 2002 in New York, but prior to that, when she was studyin Fine Art in San Francisco, with a concentration on blacksmithing, who would have thought things would go that good! As revealed by Anna herself in the interview for Elle, she is sure surprised how she became a jewelry designer:

“Quite accidentally. I learned the techniques for making sculptures and jewelry, but rarely used them to make wearable objects. Jewelry became a sort of aside to my creative process when making art. I’d work on little things when I was stuck on an idea or had some random scrap of material that seemed fitted for a ring or pendant. Becoming a brand, designing seasonal collections and all of that came way later and totally grew from the tiniest idea. I had no formal training in fashion merchandising or branding and marketing. That’s actually become the most incredible, exciting and inspiring part of my job. Well next to actually making a piece of jewelry at the bench”.

Meanwhile the new collection is inspired by the author’s fascination with animal nature, its fierce and incredible beauty. Now wonder that the model Zazoe van Lieshout photographed by Olivia Malone is featured wearing fur alongside the jewelry pieces. Here is what Anna has to say:

“The new campaign arose from my fascination with the opposing dichotomies of animal nature. I really wanted to capture that intensity in a silent space – like moments between – and a ferocity that is simultaneously graceful and pensive, yet alive with beauty. Olivia’s photos have those qualities in their warm diffusion of sunlight and her innate ability to bring forth a captivating elegance from the model – in this case the redheaded, feline Zazoe who was simply a vision,”

As mentioned by the designer herself the most exquisite piece in the whole collection is:

“It’s a tie among three rings, I’d say. The rosette with the stacking crescent bands and rose cut centers has garned much attention for the way they nest together and how the look separately as well. The Hazeline solitaire – either gold gem or with a black or champagne diamond – takes the cake. It’s always been a center of attention and that is great because that ring is based on one that belonged to my grandmother, so it’s close to my heart. And the two finger ring, which I wear everyday in some iteration is surely my most well loved style in the line. The yellow or rose gold with pavé diamonds are beautiful, and even more beasty when stacked in multiple.”

Brian Atwood who is known for his gorgeous shoe design has ventured in a whole new other direction by creating a jewelry line. The designer gave Elle an exclusive first look at the stylish lookbook that shows off the gold and leather jewelry perfectly. Talking about inspiration behind the jewelry the designer said:

I was inspired by the sexy shape of a stiletto heel–the same shape that is on the façade of my new store on Madison Avenue. It’s an iconic shape that I think makes the jewelry powerful yet still feminine.

The collection consists mostly of cuff bracelets in various finishes and the designs on velvet straps. There are python cuffs in black and brown python textured finish, leather cross cuffs made in 10K gold and hematite plated brass. There are also wrap bracelets and chokers with metal details and velvet ties.

The cuffs are quite stylish and are also a big Spring 2013 trend in accessories. The designer also branched out in handbags department earlier this year launching a collection of bright and bold purses just as interesting as his footwear.

Brian Atwood clutches

This line of accessories is full of stylish modern pieces that can be worn both in evening and during the day. The gold cuff bracelets are a great accessory for an evening gown as well as it looks harmonious in casual day-to-day outfits.

Chokers and wrap bracelets can too be worn both ways. The velvet straps nicely contrast with the smooth odd-shaped metallic details also in gold and hematite plated brass.

The collection that’s made in Italy is priced in range between $175 and $495. It’s already available online as well as at Atwood’s New York store on Madison Avenue.
