At the Oscars stars tried to look as glamorous as possible wearing long sumptuous dresses, expensive jewelry and accessories. For 2010 Vanity Fair Oscar party held at Sunset Tower on Sunday (March 7) they went more modest and unpretentious though outfits still looked chic.
Kate Beckinsale looked gorgeous in a shimmering assymetrical dress complimented by Neil Lane diamond earrings and a large gold diamond platinum cocktail ring.

Katy Perry returned to her glamorous side. The I Kissed a Girl singer appeared on the red carpet wearing a perfect Zuhair Murad gown, H. Stern jewels, Judith Leiber clutch and Jimmy Choo shoes.

Kristen Stewart did her best to look good but dresses definitely don’t fit her. the young actress sported a midnight blue strapless dress by Monique L’Hullier.

Natalie Portman looked beautiful in her short metallic Lanvin dress, Tiffany jewels and Aldo shoes.

Jimmy Choo shoes are legendary. Fashionistas all over the world treat them with awe but what do they know about the designer and his way to fame? I’m sure not much. This article will give you some interetsing information on how Jimmy Choo could achieve such success.
Now the designer has lots of wealthy clients but it wasn’t like this all his life. The 51-year-old revealed some facts about his childhood and youth.

Choo grew up in the Malasian province of Penang. His father was a successful shoemaker who used to create fantastic pairs for his customers. The craftsmanship was so interesting for the young boy that he watched his father with fascination. Young Jimmy was eager to learn the basics and work on his own shoes. With his father’s guidance, Choo made his first pair of shoes for his mother when he was 12.
The designer feels very grateful to his fasther for the skills he got from him:
My father was an artisan, and he taught me so many of my skills,” he says. “He told me that if you have a skill, you can travel the world with it.”
The renowned shoe-maker considers it right to pass skills from generation to generation, from fathers to children. He even teaches young shoe designers while taking on apprentices as often as he has time for that.
Britain is the best place for an education – that’s why I came here. It taught me the rest of my skill. It also has a strong history and tradition for shoe-making, but it is dying or going abroad to Italy, where there is more manufacturing, or China, where labour is cheap.
In the old days, parents liked to pass their skills on to their children. They still do in my home country and much of Europe, but not so much here. I had dinner with Gordon Brown a few weeks ago, and I told him all this. I said we must support the young people. He agreed with my message.”

She’s rock ’n’ roll, a little punk.” The designs are available from 14th November and she admits that it hasn’t been easy. “It was a challenge for us to create high-quality pieces at an H&M price point.”

Jimmy Choo are going to release a scent.
The work is planned to be under the collaboration between the legendary shoe company and Inter Pafrums SA.
The deal has been signed this week for a period of 12 years and will start next January. Jimmy Choo already has fragrance licenses with Burberry, Lanvin and Paul Smith.

Jimmy Choo founder and president Tamara Mellon commented:
It has always been my vision to fully accessorise the woman, and fragrance is an integral part of the modern wardrobe. I look forward to bringing this important aspect of my vision to life.”
There is no specific information about the details of the first scent and the date it will be made available.
But what we know is that the French company will create, develop and distribute Jimmy Choo perfumes.
Jimmy Choo have been trying to diversify the range of goods they produce for some time already.
For instance, in June, it was announced that Jimmy Choo were to create a range of footwear and bags for high street chain H+M.
Tamara said at the time:
Jimmy Choo will bring to H+M a sophisticated, fashion forward, accessible and glamorous collection – the perfect party pieces to buy now and then wear out that night!”

Jimmy Choo is one of those designers whose works are highly appreciated and admired. This was not easy to achieve, and only the talent which can never be hidden helped the shoemaker become so popular and called-for.

The new fall-winter collection is just another range he can be proud of. The designs are beautiful and liked by women worldwide. Fabrics are luxurious and the colors are classy.

The collection includes footwear for different weather conditions: from sandals to wear in early autumn to warm high boots to don during the lowest winter temperatures.

Although the whole collection is great there are some pieces I’d like to have in my own wardrobe. These include: open-toed high-stiletto shoes, perfect ankle boots with reptile leather embellishment and patent-leather high boots, which I love the most.

Tell me which pairs do you like the most, which will soon become your favorite?

The new fall 2009 Jimmy Choo campaign is fantastic!
It was shot by Terry Richardson and features Angela Lindvall wearing some terrific sexy staples no one can remove the eyes from.

Despite the fact the collection is intended for fall the model is wearing sandals and open-toed shoes.
This makes me really happy as I always feel much frustrated when placing my favorite summer footwear back in the closet.

I’m sure lots of ladies have been waiting for the upcoming range of shoes – the result of the collaboration of Jimmy Choo and H&M – to open their purses wide.
But now I think some will do that a bit earlier to have a pair of perfect Jimmy Choo Fall shoes.

Jimmy Choo will creat collection for H&M! This is the first time H&M will be working with an accessories brand.

We adore Jimmy Choo’s shoes and bags. They are glamorous and sexy, and they add instant style to the simplest of outfits,” said Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor, H&M.
The popular footwear designer will make a limited line for men and women which will be on sell in 200 H&M stores around the world.
I like the way we have worked with clothes to accessorize the shoes and bags rather than the other way around. This collaboration is particularly exciting because it’s our first shoe designer collection. It’s a joy to be able to offer top end designer shoes and bags of excellent quality to our customers.”
Founder and President of Jimmy Choo Tamara Mellon is in great mood about the collaboration,
“We are privileged to be among the fashion greats who have been affiliated with H&M so far, and to be designing a collection appealing to fashion savvy, street smart women, and to be including some great pieces for men, too.”
“Jimmy Choo will bring to H&M a sophisticated, fashion-forward, accessible and glamorous collection – the perfect party pieces to buy now and then wear out that night!” she added.
The collection of Jimmy Choo shoes, handbags and accessories will hit stores this Autumn on November 14 and to celebrate the event the designer is also going to design a one-off outfit range too.
