Amber Rose is a highly eccentric girl. She proved it again yesterday at the start of haute couture fashion week in Paris when appeared wearing a golden dress that totally covered her body. It even had a hood to hide her cropped hair.
And she was the center of attention! No wonder why… It’s not her humble outfit that was so striking it was the contrast with her ordinary fashion choices that amazed everyone.
Despite being fully covered the model did look very sexy and far from shy. Her dress clung to every curve.
While Amber stole the limelight Kanye West who accompanied her to the event was dressed very much to the occasion – in a smart black velvet suit jacket, a white shirt and black boots.
The suit Kanye’s girlfriend was wearing was even more shocking after the outfit she had worn to the Kris Van Assche show earlier this week.
There’s been lots of buss about Kanye West’s fashion work. Everybody knows that Kanye’s been interested in that glamorous world for a while and then we hear about his teaming up with GAP.
I wondered what they could be doing together? No one could say that for sure and guessed whether that was a collaboration over a new fashion line or not.
Us Weekly reported Kanye has been working as an intern at the GAP offices for some time already:
He works all the time, and one Friday night recently, he stayed until 12 a.m. He’s learning the fashion business from the inside and trying to do it quietly.”
Kanye’s been spending time working in Gap’s offices, working with Patrick Robinson, as he’s interested in gaining more firsthand experience of the fashion industry.”
Much was said but actually none is true as Kanye is NOT working with the GAP. A rep from the Gap said:
Regarding Kanye interning at Gap, this is not true.”
Glamour magazine was launched in the UK in April 2001, where it pioneered the “handbag size” format, with the tagline “fits in your life as well as your handbag”.
Each June, Glamour organizes the Glamour Women of the Year Awards which recognise women in the public eye.
There are a lot of popular British celebrities to come and honor the winners!
The UK Glamour Women Of The Year Awards 2009 were held June 2 2009 in Berkeley Square Gardens, London.
Guests included Alexa Chung, Rosie Huntington-Whitley, Pixie Geldof, Henry Holland, Jacquetta Wheeler, singer Adele, Ugly Betty’s Becki Newton, Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick and others.
And of course, we expected many beautiful dresses and styles. But unfortunally, there were not a lot of stylish women present. They were named Glamour women but not all looked glam enough for the title.
Ok, let’s see what fashion was presented at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards 2009 redcarpet.
The I Kissed A Girl singer picked up the Newcomer of The Year prize.
Katy Perry was in a hot silk blue strapless mini dress with a big bow on the waist, multi-strap red high heel sandals and red clutch. As usual, she had great make up and haistyle.
She was one of the most beautiful women at the party.
Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue claimed two trophies - Entrepreneur of the Year and Woman of The Year.
She arrived in a short monochrome with attitude dress and leopard print cloak. She accessoried her view with gold box-clitch, gold heels and large oval pendant necklace.
Metropolitan Opera Celebrates its 125 Anniversary with Recreations of High Points in its History with a unique gala performance on March 15, 2009 at 6:00 p.m., featuring Met celebrities in recreations of historic classic productions and high points in the company’s past.
Met General Manager Peter Gelb said,
We would like this to be a celebration of both the music and the rich theatrical history of the old and new Met, which is why we are going beyond the traditional gala format. This will be more than the typical gala parade of singers.”
James Levine said,
“This is going to be one of the most engaging and enjoyable galas that we have ever done, both for the performers and the audience. Joined by some of the great artists of today, we will pay tribute to the Met’s glorious history, touching on legendary moments we all wish we had heard, and reliving some whose memory we treasure. Yves Saint Laurent sponsors the 125th Anniversary Gala benefit.
The French fashion brand sponsored last season’s new production gala event for La Fille du Regiment at the Met.
There were a lot of celebrities in stylish gowns and glamour views.
The glam event held at Lincoln Center’s Metropolitan Opera House, beautiful ladies including Claire Danes, Mary Kate Olsen, Becki Newton and Ginnifer Goodwin all graced the red carpet.
There were Kanye West and girlfriend Amber Rose, Diane Kruger and her Dawson’s Creek beau Joshua Jackson.
Diane Kruger looked more beautiful than others. Her two-toned electric blue strapless YSL gown with details on the bodice was amazing.
Actress Claire Danes looked dainty in a silk navy Yves Saint Laurent Pre-Fall 2009 halter gown with a draped skirt and a ruck bodice, accessoried with a gold YSL clutch.
Bloody-lips Mary Kate Olsen came in a black maxy gown with a silver belt, which matched an Yves Saint Laurent gold clutch.
Rapper Kanye West is planning to go to London to follow his love of fashion.
The singer is moving to the British capital to take on an apprenticeship benefits at a fashion house to learn the foundations of his skill.
At present Kanye West is designing his own collection named Pastelle, and is said to be requesting to practise at prominent fashion houses across Europe, including Louis Vuitton’s headquarters in London.
Hip hop singer says,
I’m going to go and take an internship and just do something that’s like completely normal and just rap on the weekends or something.”
A source tells Britain’s Daily Mirror, “He’s applying at Louis Vuitton, Raf Simmons and others.
Everyone is surprised at just how seriously Kanye is taking his fashion dream. He is always in the front rows during the Paris and Milan fashion weeks. He absolutely loves London and wants to absorb the fashion over here.”

This issue is about breaking fashion and design rules. What are some you’d like to crush?
The idea of not wearing brown and black together seems so dated. The other day I wore a black T-shirt, black Nobody jeans, a brown leopard-print belt by Dolce & Gabbana, and brown Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, and it looked awesome. Also the rule about not matching your makeup to your outfit. I do that onstage, matching red lipstick to a bright red jacket or neon-pink eye shadow to a pink jumpsuit. And I also love to mix prints.

It has evolved without my even noticing it. Lately I’m obsessed with Thierry Mugler…Grace Jones inspires me…she has extraordinary style and she’s fearless. I love designer Martin Margiela: Kanye West told me about him. I also like Dsquared, Chloé, Zac Posen—he makes flattering lines.”

But you weren’t always a fashion maven? Growing up in Barbados, you were a tomboy.
I wore my brother’s clothes, dresses with sneakers, or no shoes at all. I would always get into trouble with my mom. She would say things to scare me like, ‘You’re going to get cut!’ But I couldn’t help it. I would climb trees, steal mangoes, catch birds—silly things that were fun to us at the time. My cousin and I were the only girls in the group. We would have to stand up for ourselves because the guys didn’t want us around.”

Though skinny jeans look great doctors say they can be dangerous for our health. According to some experts tight jeans might cause a nerve problem called meralgia paresthetica.
Together with high stilettos skinny jeans put great pressure on the femoral cutaneous nerve that runs through the thigh. As a result ladies often feel tingling and burning through the leg.
All that big-breast mania we have now is a complete nonsense! No matter what your bra size is, your bust can look nice if you know how to “wear” it.
And many men like girls with chest much smaller than Pamela Anderson’s! Besides, the majority of designers create their garments for ladies with smaller busts.
