Gorgeous redhead Karen Elson is the new face of St.John. The model has replaced Angelina Jolie on the position and seems to be reviving interest to the brand.
Karen looks chic and glamorous wearing perfect outfits. Most of the garments come in black color which plays a great contrast with her extremely white skin and red hair.
I love the black gown with a low neck. It looks fabulous!
Angelina Jolie does not represent St. John brand any more because her image is too strong for them.
The actress, who is considered one of the world’s most beautiful women, was dropped as the face of the brand and replaced by Karen Elson. It was said Jolie ‘overshadowed’ the brand.
The label’s chief executive officer Glenn McMahon told WWD:
Angelina overshadowed the brand. We wanted to make a clean break from actresses and steer away from blondes and cleanse the palette.”
No more blondes or actresses but red-heads and models – welcome! Red-headed model Karen Elson was invited to represent the Spring/Summer 2010 range.
McMahon explained:
We needed to show a modern point of view of St. John. We have evolved.”
And Karen was named the “epitome” of St. John.
He said:
Karen is the epitome of the modern day woman…the St. John woman… strong, confident, sensual and approachable with effortless glamour.”
Chanel’s Cruise 2010 catwalk show was presented at Venice and now the new ad campaign has been revealed.
The HQ photoshoot was made by popular designer Karl Lagerfeld and featuring models Karen Elson and Baptiste Giabiconi.
The theme of this shoot is the woman in the dark. The models pose in a dark antique hotel room with rich bordeaux bedsheets and curtains. All collection is inspired by the old fashion and glamour.

Nine models are featured in the issue of Vogue May 2009. Three of them are on the covers, while others are on the inlay of the magazine.
