Despite the fact red carpet fashion choices at the 2012 SAG Awards ceremony weren’t as diverse and chic as those at previous glam events we had written about this year, we cannot say they were boring. There were a few looks that deserved your attention. For example, Michelle Williams’ red Valentino dress looked gorgeous. It showed the actress’ enviable figure and, complemented with Roger Vivier sandals and Lanvin bag, looked totally glamorous.

Lea Michelle, who has recently been announced as the new face of Candie’s, wore a luxurious and daring gown by Versace.

Jessica Chastain opted for a simple but very elegant custom dress from Calvin Klein Collection. To make her look more luxurious the 30-year-old accessorized with $2.5 million in Harry Winston jewels.

Glee star, Jayma Mays hit the red carpet of the 2012 SAG Awards in a chic Reem Acra gown.

Sofia Vergara looked mesmerizing in a sumptuous fuchsia Marchesa gown.

The Help star, Emma Stone appeared at the 2012 SAG Awards wearing an unusual custom Alexander McQueen dress which she paired with shoes and a bag from the same brand.

Armie Hammer arrived at the ceremony of the 2012 SAG Awards with his beautiful wife Elizabeth Chambers. Her dress was very simple but so lovely that it won my heart the first moment I saw it.

Emily Blunt rocked a bold one-shoulder gown from Oscar de la Renta‘s Resort 2012 collection. Maybe it wasn’t the most interesting dress on the red carpet but it turned quite a lot of heads.

Naya Rivera was also one of the best-dressed at the 2012 SAG Awards. Her delicate blue floor-length dress was fantastic.

Kelly Osbourne, who makes fashion faux pas rather often, this time, impressed us in a good way. Her white gown with eye-catching shoulder detail was lovely.

Dianna Agron is such a pretty girl. She can look great in everything, even in less interesting dresses than this one by Carolina Herrera!

Stacy Keibler, who arrived at the 2012 SAG Awards, with George Clooney looked feminine and attractive in her Marchesa gown.

Julianna Margulies looked stunning in a custom Calvin Klein Collection dress with rich embroidery.

Charlize Theron made sure all eyes were on her as she appeared on the red carpet of the 2012 Golden Globe Awards in a light rosy Dior Couture gown with a long train.

Paula Patton went for a bright yellow dress by Monique Lhuillier.

Angelina Jolie surprised both critics and fans as she appeared in a white-and-red Atelier Versace gown at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards. The actress was accompanied to the event by her partner Brad Pitt.

Another couple that drew attention were George Clooney and Stacy Kieber. They looked beautiful. Stacy donned a sexy red gown for the occasion.

Model Elle Macpherson looked gorgeous in a gown which featured a mermaid skirt.

Emma Stone who won big at the 2012 Critics’ Choice Awards hit the red carpet of the 2012 Golden Globes wearing a custom-made purple gown by Lanvin finished with an eagle belt.

Mila Kunis, who has been announced as the new face of Dior, opted for a brand’s black dress from the Spring/ Summer 2012 collection. She completed her look with Jimmy Choo shoes.

Natalie Portman was another Lanvin wearer. Her option was a bright pink strapless gown.

Kate Winslet looked totally elegant in a black-and-white Jenny Packham dress.

Just like Paula Patton Sarah Michelle Gellar opted for a chic ballgown from Monique Lhuillier Spring/ Summer 2012 collection to wear at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards.

Petite Nicole Richie looked fabulous in a glitzy Julien Macdonald dress.

Nicole Kidman attended the 2012 Golden Globe Awards together with her husband, singer Keith Urban. The couple looked lovely. The 44-year-old actress glammed up the red carpet in a suptuous Versace dress.

Monique Lhuillier dresses were very popular with stars on the red carpet of the 2012 Golden Globe Awards as three ladies opted to sport them at the occasion. The third comes Debra Messing who was all smiles posing for cameras.

Jessica Biel wore the most delicate dress at the ceremony. Fully made of lace the dress featured a train that added chic to the look.

Kelly Osbourne looked brilliant striking a pose at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards. She donned a cobalt blue Zac Posen gown to the event.

The Help actress Viola Davis finishes my list of best-dressed ladies at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards. She wore a dark red single-shoulder gown and Jimmy Choo heels.

I have always been fascinated by Alber Elbaz’s collections for Lanvin but his Pre-Fall 2012 is just perfect. I love the silhouettes (though they look a bit rough and sometimes even untidy), the colors (there is a lot of black with additions of red, green, nude and brown) and the jewelry is mesmerizing.

Lanvin Pre-Fall 2012 collection features amazing coats. Shapes are great (balloon one is my favorite!), styles are unexpected (just look at that military-inspired double-breasted one with feminine pleats, isn’t it wonderful?) and the shades are so lovely (love the charcoal blue!).

Dresses in Lanvin Pre-Fall 2012 collection are very different. There is a romantic nude frock with frill details, a sparkling mini paired with elbow-length gloves and a red patent leather belt, sexy blue and green dresses finished with long cameo necklaces as well as a totally chic black organza dress.

As for accessories (which are always bold and statement in Lanvin), they are very womanly this time. Cameo necklace and brooches look very stylish and have a feeling of some memory, gloves add chic to outfits, belts are rather traditional but the way they are used is unusual, and bags are exhisite and sophisticated.

Shoes in Lanvin Pre-Fall 2012 collection didn’t impress but there is one pair that I would be happy to add to my collection – the satin stilettos with huge bows.

By ‘classic’ hat we imply fedora hat or a wide brim hat. Both these style are absolute hits this season and designers presented them in a huge variety. So, we definitely have a lot to choose from.

My favorite fedoras come in Kenzo and Laura Biagiotti Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 collections. They look fantastic and are easy to wear with almost any type of clothing. Fedora is the most versatile hat style of all.

Wide brim hats are even more popular during Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 fashion season than fedora hats. Gucci, Dsquared2, Reiss, Monsoon, Miss Sixty, Christian Dior and other designers and brands have offered their vision of this type of a hat.

Miss sixty hats are made of luxurious fabric which looks similar to velvet, Nina Ricci trimmed hats with fur and changed the shape of brims. Lanvin hats have very wide and stiff brims, and Dior hats are softer and more feminine.

Wide brim hats are also very versatile. You can wear them with chic classic coats or free spirited Bohemian outfits.

If yesterday all fashion bloggers were speaking about how amazing Lady Gaga and Selena Gomez were at the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards, today we all are talking about Jennifer Lopez, who looked fabulous at the US version of 2011 Glamour Women of the Year.

The ceremony, that was held at Carnegie Hall in New York City, honored women who have achieved the most in 2011. These achievements include serious things like ovarian cancer research and discovering a supernova as well as more entertainment ones.

Jennifer Lopez was the star of the night. She was named the Woman of the Year and received her accolade from designer Donatella Versace, who created the dress Lopez was wearing. The style advice JLo gave to other ladies was simple: “My grandma taught me, always go out looking nice, because people like that.” How wise!

Lea Michele looked shining at the 2011 Glamour Women of the Year. She received The Diva Next Door award from her Glee co-star Jonathan Groff. The actress wore a wonderful Jenny Packham dress that she paired with Sergio Rossi shoes, and Tiffany & Co jewels. Jimmy Choo handbag finished the look.

Jessica Alba appeared at the 2011 Glamour Women of the Year to present designer Tory Burch with The Fashion Force award. To double Burch’s pleasure Alba wore a sparkling dress from her collection.

Emma Stone was also in attendance at the 2011 Glamour Women of the Year event. She was invited to present the 21 Years, 21 Young Women award to twenty-one extraordinary ladies who dedicated their lives to making a difference in the world. Emma looked terrific in a yellow Lanvin dress.

Jennifer Aniston arrived to the 2011 Glamour Women of the Year with a great purpose. She was to give The Queen of the Night award to her friend Chelsea Handler. Jennifer went black for the occasion. Her fashion options for the big day were: a Versace dress, Celine shoes, and Fred Leighton jewels.

Beyonce has mentioned recently that she has been planning to add a maternity collection to her House of Dereon fashion label. And now she’s explained her desire to Harpers’ Bazaar (November 2011). She has also shared on what styles she prefers to wear while she is expecting.

Beyonce told Harper’s Bazaar:

All I see now are clothes that are flattering on a pregnant woman. It’s been so exciting for me! I love figuring out designs that still make me feel edgy and sexy while pregnant. Flowy fabrics are always flattering – but I still rock my stilettos.”

The singer, who appears on two different covers for the November 2011 issue of Harper’s Bazaar, said she wanted people to know about her pregnancy from her, not from the media. So, she took her time to think it over and choose the right outfit for the announcement. It is rumored she looked through 70 dresses until she finally chose the one – orange Lanvin gown.

Beyonce commented:

I put a lot of thought into how I wanted to unveil it. It was important to me that I was able to do it myself. I was extremely nervous. It was the toughest red carpet I ever did. I didn’t want a crazy picture or gossip story to break the news, so I decided to say nothing and proudly show my baby bump. I felt it was more powerful to see the love and enthusiasm as opposed to saying anything.”

In the interview for Harper’s Bazaar Beyonce has told about her attitude to her husband Jay-Z:

We have been together since I was 20 years old…’ she said. ‘I respect him so much; he is a great man and a great artist.”

She continued:

We focused three years on our marriage and found that it brought us an even stronger bond and connection… The best thing about marriage is the amount of growth you have because you can no longer hide from your fears and insecurities. There’s someone right there calling you out on your flaws and building you up when you need the support. If you are with the right person, it brings out the best version of you.”

Beyonce says now it’s just the perfect time for her to become a mother:

It was important to me that I gave myself time to focus on becoming the woman I want to be, building my empire, my relationship, and my self-worth, before I became a mother. Now God has blessed us with the ultimate.”

If you wear red with basic black then black pieces don’t necessarily have to be too plain, but also make sure they are no overdone so you don’t look garish.

Red outerwear makes you instantly noticeable so keep the rest of your outfit tame while placing the focus on the red outerwear. The black and red combo is hard to beat but you can also try midnight blue or gray in your outfit if you want to try something new.

An all-red outfit is hard to pull off but if you must let it be a flowing evening gown or a streamlined pant suit or stylish jumpsuit with a cut that makes you look taller. A flowing midi dress is also a great way to sport this trend. Don’t be afraid to match your lipstick to your outfit but be sure your shade of red lipstick suits your skin tone and hair color as well.

Beyonce looked super chic in a bright orange dress from Lanvin Fall 2011 collection. Its flowing style made her look very very graceful. Despite announcing the baby news Beyonce still went to perform at the show sporting Dolce & Gabbana outfit with a purple glitzy tuxedo jacket from their Fall 2011 RTW collection.

Beyonce friend singer Kelly Rowland has opted for black mini dress from Falguni & Shane Peacock Fall 2011 collection with gold appliques and feathery front. It looks great on Kelly who has paired the dress with Christian Louboutin peep toe shoes.

Another best-dressed celeb was Selena Gomez who looked great in black lace Julien Macdonald mini dress with a long train. The bodice embroidery is amazing and the gold accessories add a bit of shine to the outfit. The gold gold Brian Atwood shoes perfectly match the Judith Leiber clutch and Ofira jewelry.

Katie Holmes looked relaxed and playful in her Azzedine Alaia in an intricate print that she paired with brown Proenza Schouler shoes with black lacing. I would opt for other shoes here but she still looks great.

Zoe Saldana looks gorgeous in her mini Barbara Bui dress from Fall 2011 at 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. The dress/tunic has an embellished top and a plunging neck. The actress also wore Barbara Bui reptile skin sandals, black Lanvin clutch and Ofira jewelry.

Hats are everywhere this season. Whether you are a man or a woman hat trend applies for Fall/Winter 2011/2012. As the cold season approaches you’d think a hat would be more of a necessity but some of these hats are really worn just to complete the look, get a certain style, or jump on a bandwagon with other fashionistas who dig the hat trend. Today we feature the trendiest hats for men and women for the Fall/Winter 2011/2012 season and ponder on how to wear them.

Wide brim hat: (also dubbed Amish hats) are really trendy for both men and women. Complete your boho or retro style outfit with that hat and you are high on trend. Think flowing flared trousers, loose blouses with bow-tie necks, and 70′s-style double-breasted jackets to create the right mood. Gucci has created some stylish vintage wide-brim hats that can be worn with pencil skirts, fur and high boots.

Men can wear wide brim hats with tailored suits and coats in style of 1930′s gangsters. Lanvin has created wide brim hats in both collections for men and women. Men outfits worn with the hat included velvet jackets in bold or deep colors, gray suits, and more casual wear. If you like Amish hats Missoni has created some for men and women.

Fedora hat: You can’t really do wrong with wearing a Fedora hat. Celebs wear it with literally any outfit. There are so many styles and fabrics and finishes you just have to coordinate it with your outfit or accessories. Men and women can wear sport Fedora hat. For men there are wide brim Fedora hats that can be worn with suits and more casual outfits. Women try to sport it with a meswear trend – tuxedos and other men style clothes.

Vintage hats: With the 60′s being one of the hottest trends of Fall/Winter 2011/2012 pill box hats had made their appearance at Marc Jacobs’ fashion show. These tiny hats come in various shades and prints in his Fall 2011 RTW collection and can be easily worn with modernized 60′s-inspired wear from such designers and brands as Alberta Ferretti, Fendi, Prada and others. Cloche hats so popular in 1920′s can be seen in Ralph Lauren’s Fall 2011 RTW. These can be worn with evening gowns and furs in a flapper-style. Though less trendy than wide brim and Fedora hats vintage ones can be used to create some interesting outfits.
