Karl Lagerfeld is reported to have found the new face for Chanel handbag campaign. And you would be surprised to know that it is the British model Alice Dellal, who is best known for her half-shaved head and being a member of a controversial all-girl rock group Thrush Metal.

Alice Dellal is said to be going to promote Chanel Spring/ Summer 2012 handbag collection. According to the rumors she has attracted attention of Karl Lagerfeld during a recent photoshoot.

If rumors confirm to be true Alice Dellal will follow in the footsteps of such big names as Vanessa Paradis, Claudia Schiffer, Nicole Kidman and Keira Knightley as well as Blake Lively, Lily Allen, and Diane Kruger who all used to be models for Chanel.

Despite being a model Alice Dellal confesses she isn’t into fashion much:

I wish I was more into clothes. I don’t know the current designers. My style used to be a tame version of me and it’s getting more and more drastic, and is probably going to get really really weird towards the end. Be afraid.”

Alice Dellal isn’t the only person in her family who works in the industry. Her sister, Charlotte, designs shoes for Sienna Miller and Kate Moss under the name Charlotte Olympia.

In the interview for ELLE UK August 2011 issue the British musician and designer, Lily Allen, speaks about how famous ladies fight with weight and her own experience of working on her body.

Without naming any names Lily Allen tells the entire truth about staying-slim struggle in America:

I hang out with models, the biggest pop stars and, you know, really and honestly, I hate saying this, but none of them are achieving those body shapes by being healthy. They’re not just going to the gym two hours a day. They’re not eating or they’re taking speed not to eat. In America everyone abuses that Adderall stuff and people aren’t normal.”

Lily also mentioned that to be thin she had to starve and to keep busy and distract herself from thinking about food she used to go out a lot:

I wasn’t eating then, you know, [I was] going out at night. I guess when you’re not eating you have to distract yourself with other things. Come three o’clock it was like, ‘Oh I suppose it’s acceptable to have a glass of wine.’ And then by four o’clock I would have had four glasses. It’s not the way to be.”

Being happily married now Lily thanks her beloved husband for helping her realize stick-thin figure was not what she needed.

To tell you the truth I’ve been following Lily Allen’ story with a sinking heart. The girl had money, her own growing business and popularity but she didn’t have the most important thing for a woman – a baby. Those two devastating miscarriages made her really unhappy but she manned herself and believed in the better future. Finally she has it all – a loving husband, who she married at St James the Great Church in the picturesque Cotswolds village of Cranham yesterday, and a baby she’s now expecting.

At her wedding day Lily Allen looked lovely. Her vintage lace dress flattered the singer’s changing body perfectly (By the way, it was Karl Lagerfeld who designed it!!!). The veil wasn’t as beautiful but it was Lily’s day and no one could judge her choice.

The wedding ceremony wasn’t too chic. Lily and her now-husband Sam Cooper invited 105 people – family and close friends, who they wanted to share their happiness with. During the celebration Sam announced his wife was at least 12 weeks pregnant.

The star looks beautiful and feminine on the cover of Elle UK August 2010 wearing a cute rosy dress from c. The white feathered coat on the photo also looks great.

Lily Allen, who became famous due to her singing career, has recently said she is going to quit music and focus on designing. And in the interview for Elle UK August 2010 issue Lily Allen already talks about having a baby.

She said:

I don’t think I’m that young to have a baby. My mother had me when she was 23. It’s difficult as a woman who wants a family. Kids take up your whole life, particularly in the first two or three years. So it wouldn’t be very responsible of me to commit to doing a world tour if I had a baby.”

Fashion is very important in Lily Allen’s life. She once said she spent too much on clothing. And that became the reason why she decided to open her own store that rents vintage dresses:

I love clothes and I love consuming clothes and it’s not ethical to do that, so I’m quite happy to turn it into a business and see other people having enjoyment out of it. What good are they doing lying in the back of my wardrobe?”

But when it comes to buying timeless pieces Lily doesn’t save on money:

When I’m buying expensive things I tend to think, ‘Yep, that’s something timeless that I can give to my daughter.’”

Talking about her new venture Lucy in Disguise store Lily Allen gives advice on successful shopping for vintage items:

First, ignore the sizing. A size 12 now is different to a size 12 in the 1970s; vintage shops that divide clothing into sizes may not have taken that into account. If something is too big but you love it, get it taken in – we’re going to have an alteration service in our shop. Don’t go with the mindset that you want to reference a certain era. Just try lots of things on, and have fun with it – I like to play with clothes all the time.

Some eras are good for certain things – the 1920s are good for summery, beaded dresses, the 1970s are great for maxi floral dresses and the 1980s for harder-looking jackets and jeans. And don’t worry about looking too vintage – many current designers go shopping for vintage for inspiration for their lines, so you can get a modern look.”

Chanel campaigns were great experience for Lily Allen. She opened up about first meeting Karl Lagerfeld:

It was at a big party in Coco’s apartments in Paris. I was drunk and got lost in the building. I wandered into an attic room and Karl was there. I got really embarrassed and apologised, but he said, “No, come in.” We had a chat – although I can’t remember what about, I was so drunk. I do remember asking him about some shoes he’d designed that had a green ring in the heel [from the Chanel a/w 2009 collection]. I asked how they worked. He drew a diagram explaining the physics of making the shoe. I’ve still got the drawing. A week later I was asked to do the campaign.”

The ceremony that gathered together so many beautiful and famous ladies was held at the Berkeley Square Gardens in London on Tuesday evening (June 8). It was a great event that made happy lots of women, especially those who got the awards.

The main prize – Woman of the Year – was given to Cheryl Cole, the woman whose name was in tabloids almost daily. The Parachute singer arrived at the Glamour Women Of The Year Awards 2010 wearing a lingerie-style gown designed by Julien Macdonald. The dress was very unusual and looked pretty but the girl’s hair was a real mess.

Avatar star Zoe Saldana who looked fabulous and sexy in her little black dress received the Film Actress of the Year award.

Nicole Richie didn’t go home empty-handed. She got the Enterpreneur of the Year Award. The socialite and the designer looked stunning in her floor-sweeping strapless gown.

A Chanel spokesperson said:

Lily was the face, but now it is Vanessa.”

Karl Lagerfeld had not only stopped collaboration with Lily, he also broke any contacts with the star. She wasn’t invited to the recent party at the Cannes Film Festival which means she is not a part of Chanel family any more.

A source said:

Karl had a show and a party, but Lily was not invited. It was Karl’s way of making it clear she is no longer a part of the Chanel family. He instructed his people not to invite her. He is very strict about who can represent the brand and there is a feeling that Lily is too much of a party girl.”

Lily Allen is well-known for her crazy partying and the singer’s behavior at the party at Karl’s home last year was the last drop.

The source commented:

She got very drunk and had to be taken to the loos to sober up. Karl wasn’t impressed.”

The Smile singer has reportedly signed a deal with British network Channel 4 about the show. However, no details have been discussed yet.

A Channel 4 spokesperson said

It is happening. The name and how many shows there will be is still undecided. It is due to go out early next year.”

Lily isn’t new to fashion anyway. Last July she has launched her own jewellery collection and in 2007 the star teamed up with British high street store New Look to create a clothing line called Lily Loves. Besides, Lily is still the face of Chanel’s Coco Cocoon collection which is a great achievement.

It is reported that the singer has agreed to star in a TV show about the launch of her line and the shop called Lucy in Disguise that she is to run with half-sister Sarah Owen.

The documentary will also show us Lily as she starts up her own record label.

A source close to the gril told Britain’s The Sun:

Lily was approached about the TV show and thought it would help promote her new ventures as well as letting people get to know her a bit better.”
