Little black dress is a classic. You can wear it anywhere throw in some jewelry and other accessories into your outfit and voila. Lately little black dress has been redefined and reinterpreted in so many ways and especially into the direction of a more sexy classic dress. The low back, deep plunging neck or mini length were definitely not in the picture for Coco Chanel.

Where can you wear a sexy black dress?

Well, it depends. If you don’t have to look official but rather dressy or somewhat casual you can go with black as it is basic, it’s easy to work with in terms of creating an outfit and a sexy design that will make a certain stylish twist and help you stand out from LBD wearers.

How to Keep it Stylish?

Sexy black dress must not be very ‘little’ at the same time. Meaning – do not overdo with revealing otherwise it will look cheap and unflattering. Remember the basic rules if the décolletage is deep, the length should be long, if the back is open the front should be covered, if the midriff is bear the back and décolleté should be demure.

As I already said black is very easy to work with when it comes to putting an outfit together. Again when it comes to a sexy black dress there is no need to decorate yourself as much but since the details are essential play the contrasts with the dress. Choose a nice color to dilute the black but keep just a few accents. An ornate or embellished clutch will definitely finish an outfit and a necklace and one or two medium bracelets on one arm will do. Choose the shoes accordingly. If the dress is too revealing go with less flashy shoes, though they shouldn’t be too plain either. The color of shoes can be matched to a color of your accessories or clutch.

The one shoulder style has been Kim’s favorite for a pretty long period. And black dresses have become the most common in her wardrobe. Kate Beckinsale looked glamorous in a light rosy Grecian-style dress that wrapped around the slim figure of the actress just perfectly. The assymetrical gown was complemented with a pair of silver high heels.

Eugenia Silva went for a feminine look and donned an elegant white dress with a very low neck that exposed her pretty cleavage. A white unusual necklace and a black clutch added finishing touches to the attire.

Eva Herzigova opted for a super-short silver-white fringed minidress. The model looked beautiful and sexy.

Lindsay Lohan arrived to the event in a white coctail dress that left her slender legs exposed. The frock looked pretty but Lindsay’s hair and makeup were a complete mess.

Naomi Campbell never leaves her boyfriend alone. This time she again arrived at the party with Mr Doronin. The couple looked very harmoniously. Naomi wore a little black dress with lace side insets.

Another couple that attracted attention was Paris and Nicky Hilton. The sisters looked good but not as stunning as usual. Paris rocked a blue strapless gown while Nicky sported a cute white frock.

On her website, rachelzoe.com, she said:

Honestly, the word basic doesn’t really exist in my vocabulary – sure I have a favourite cut of denim and classic leather jacket never hurt anybody, but more often than not, I like my every day items to stand out.”

The designers named the show “Heritage,” and filled it with Dolce&Gabbana’s signatures, laced with a piece of tango.

To celebrate this little but elegant fashion invention was organized a Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival 2009. The show was hosted by Jonathon Pease and Alex Perry and presented by Diet Coke.

The Little Black Dress event showcased a range of designs by Alex Perry, Sass & Bide, Willow, Alice McCall, Alpha 60, Kate Sylvester, Kirrliy Johnston, Marnie Skillings, Romance Was Born and international Missoni.

The festival was great! All the dresses looked nice and seemed to be specially created for ladies of different shapes so that every woman’s unique curves could be favorably displayed.

Mixed colors. Solid dresses are gorgeous but sometimes you get tired of monotony (even if it a bright one!) and want something different, something unusual.

Dresses coming in two or even more colors combined look fresh and stylish. And many designers favored such color combinations for the coming season.

Strapless gowns. A woman wearing a strapless gown that fits her perfectly looks so feminine. Probably this is the reason why designers decided to pay particular attention to this style of a dress.

During the crisis many women have to work hard and often forget about how they look. To bring back that womanly appearance nothing can be better than a strapless gown.

One-shoulder dresses. This trend has been with us for two seasons and hasn’t lost its popularity. Some dresses in this style are simple and even have a casual look, like the ones in Hermes collection. But others are purely feminine and sophisticated, a style perfect for a red carpet wear.

Maxi dresses. Angelina Jolie, Nicole Richie, Paris Hilton… I can go on and on naming celebs who love maxi dresses. I guess they somehow influenced the development of the trend.

Super short dresses, coming as a huge contrast to maxi dresses. Yes and yes, there are lots of girls who love short skirts. They should feel very excited now as designers have made lots of gorgeous short pieces!

Neon dresses. Problems have been with us throughout our life but even in the most difficult periods we want to have something that helps us forget about all what is happening around us.

A neon dress is just the option that can do that and now it is trendy!

The collection includes a pretty short lemon bustier dress, a thin-striped dress with flounces, a black cut-out dress with a pleated skirt, an outfit consisting of a little black dress complemented with an orange belt and a dark violet short sleeved cardigan, and others.

The shoes look very feminine with the clear flower motif, as if Louis Vuitton wanted to bring back the floral fashion. High platform sandals go very well with short skirts thus lengthening the girl’s legs (a good choice for those with shorter legs!!!) Leather peep-toe-and-heel booties look impressive.

Bag theme is very limited in the collection but still allows watching the tendency offered by the designers. Bags are made in a boat shape with thick ropes coming as handles and decorated by an immutable LV pattern.

Not much attention is given to accessories, for the exception of belts which are presented in a great diversity: from classic styles to huge chains wrapped around the model’s waist instead of a belt.
