Judging by the pictures the Longchamp bags from Spring/ Sumer 2011 range are very pretty, especially those large totes that look more like beach bags. The color scheme is interesting and majority of items seem to be rather versatile. What do you think?

The British supermodel claims she is “still having a wonderful time modelling” and going to do it as long as possible. As you know Kate still walks the runway and participates in various ad campaigns. Besides, she designs clothes and a range of perfumes for UK retailer Topshop. Her new venture includes the work with Longchamp, the beauty designs handbags for the label.

She tells Britain’s Grazia magazine:

I’m still having a wonderful timemodelling. In career terms, things have never been better. Modelling hasgiven me insights and experience that I can now use in other ways. Sometimes, I don’t like the fame, but then I’ve got to deal with it, so I do. You know, I just wanted to be good at my job, I never wanted to be famous, but that happens to come with it”.

We have recently written that Claudia Schiffer and Cindy Crawford stopped their careers as catwalk models because they no longer feel right to do it. To keep busy the women front photo shoots and work on their own womenswear.

Talking about career goals of the British supermodel we should remind you that Kate is very interested in designing. She already has a line together with Topshop, and now Longchamp reports that she is to launch a range of handbags for the accessory label.

The new venture is to prove Kate’s ability to create fashionable pieces.

A source said:

Kate is looking forward to the release of her work. She loves working with Topshop, but this high-fashion range will really prove her design credibility.”

This isn’t the first time the model has collaborated with the brand. She has previously modelled for Longchamp and in 2007 helped to “add the final design touches” to the brand’s Legend bag.

The stylish and unique Longchamp’s next campaign shines the limelight on the leather products house’s growing women’s ready-to-wear collection – along with those wanted handbags.

The photosets were made in Los Angeles by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot.

The striking photo series shapes models Kate Moss and Sasha Pivovarova against a retro green wall adorned in pieces from its 12-piece spring line.

Local point of row is on outerwear, the line ranges from a silk and cotton blouse to a sporty linen trench in the house’s iconic LM horse graphics.

The ideas is to create key items you can mix with everything,” said Sophie Delafontaine, Longchamps’ artistic director.

While some prior campaigns have shown Kate Moss totally naked, with only a huge Longchamp handbag for decency, Longchamp’s spring take can be compared to classic vogue editing.

Today, handbags have become so much a part of the fashion world,” said managing director Jean Cassegrain, “It’s important we have a line of ready-to-wear to express our fashion personality.”

He noticed, however, that outfits depict less than 5% of its business.

The advertizing campaign is featured in February fashion magazines, with no alter in budgets versus the first half of 2007.

“We are lucky to be a fully family-owned business. When we talk of a timeline it’s not in terms of the next quarter, but [rather] a long-term view,” said Cassegrain.
