I would start from Chirstian Louboutin shoes. They are the best for me. I know you would say it is banal but these shoes are really special. Yes, they aren’t very comfortable, and those heels are often hard to walk in but they are worth the pain we suffer. The designer was right. Gaetano Perrone has released just one collection under his own name but it has already found its fans. It is not surprising at all considering the fact he has been creating footwear for Alexander McQueen for a few years. His shoes are spectacular – extravagant but incredibly beautiful in design they will soon appear on the red carpet as often as shoes of other exclusive brands. I was impressed with Nicholas Kirkwood’s first footwear collection and immediately remembered the name of a young but very talented designer. D&G Spring/ Summer 2012 collection seems a little out-of-place here due to the fact it is casual and shoes presented in it are far from being cute or elegant but don’t we all from time to time turn to comfier styles – flats, wedges, even sneakers? I totally agree with him. I love shoes more than anything in fashion but when I can’t walk in them more than 15 minutes I feel miserable.

Manolo Blahnik told WWD about how he had to remake Kate Moss’ wedding shoes FIVE times to get them right as Moss confessed to “turning mental” for a moment while she was making all the preparations for her wedding with Jamie Hince. The customized $895 Godichefac open sandals with pretty ornate design were decorated with jewels but to get it right the shoes were remade five times.

We did them five times to get them the way she wanted.

The shoes arrived the day before and there were too many jewels on the heel because of the long train, so we had women working up until midnight to change it.

My workers are the best people. I wouldn’t be here without them.

said Manolo Blahnik to WWD. Blahnik has also expressed his delight for platform shoe trend decline as the designer has gained his popularity for his signature style in making feminine and delicate shoes.

Kate Moss’ wedding was “divine” according to designer who said Moss has “a presence” that one has to feel. Kate Moss wore her customized Godichefac sandals with a vintage wedding gown by John Galliano for her wedding ceremony in July.

I love the elegant part of the Manolo Blahnik Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 collection. Shoes come in reserved but beautiful colors. Detailing is neat and stylish and the silhouette of pieces looks fabulous. Materials are different. There is a lot of matte and patent leather, suede, fur, satin and other fabrics.

The comfier part of the Manolo Blahnik Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 collection features shorter heels and wedges. Prints are lovely and range from the trendy black-and-white leopard to playful and daring stripes and polka dots.

And there are pairs that look a bit out of place in such a wonderful collection by Manolo Blahnik. For example, the pair of shoes in a classic style looks awful with the use of blue fur. Do all talented minds sometimes create unattractive things?

The two designers are known for their grungy style. Ashley and Mary-Kate have recently explained why they love wearing baggy and layered clothing. They told it was media that made them dress that way, and… laziness.

The footwear designer is well-known in the US and many other countries but he really hates being recognised in public.

He complained:

The taxi drivers even recognise me now. Working at the New York customs there was a lady who loved my shoes. There was such a line forming behind me at passport control, I had to give her some in the end.

It’s sweet but it becomes too much and I don’t feel comfortable. I have never wanted to be a celebrity designer.”
