This season collecton was fully and officially created by Peter Copping, ex-right-hand man of at . And to tell you the truth, I do like the pieces a lot. They are very cute, very womanly. Flower motif was obviously dominant and it was good. First of all because flowers are all about femininity and secondly, because flowers in various forms are a hot trend for Autumn/ Winter 2010/ 2011.

The range was quite different from usual collections and it means Copping took the plunge to go his own way, apart from Theyskens’ influence. No more high-drama dark Belgian romance is expected then.

Pretty, just below knee-length satin slipdresses, chic little black , lacy tops and skrts of elaborated designs were all the new hot things for the brand. No pants were in the line and it seems none of those would really fit into the cloud of feminine luxury.

Gloves went above the elbows, belts embraced the models’ waists and perfect classy shoes finished the glamourous picture. Some fur was used but it was good and beautiful.

understands that to extend the market for his creations he needs to attract new customers to his shows but as nearly all places are taken by A-list celebrities this can be a bit difficult. So, at his upcoming show at the designer doesn’t want to see stylish A-listers.

Besides, the acclaimed designer thinks it’s “boring” to have all the same audience again and again,

He revealed to the New York Post:

I’m not into the celebrity thing . . . like we used to. That’s boring.”

Marc doesn’t want to see famous fashionistas even backstage. Once Madonna came backstage after his show and made the couturier feel “awkward”.

He said:

She came backstage, and I was like, ‘What do you do with her now?’ Because it’s not like she was invited.”

Not being invited to the show, celebrites will be able to watch it on the internet as Jacobs and have announced they will be streaming their runway shows on the web. Rodarte and Alexander Wang will be following in the footsteps.

An industry insider said:

The industry is really suffering right now, and there’s a need to reach a bigger audience in order to increase sales. Having Fashion Week online makes these designers universal, which is a huge benefit to their lines.”

has been the latest to receive one of most important French awards in culture. He was named a Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) at a ceremony in Paris on Friday (22Jan10).

Marc Jacobs

The award was given to Marc by Culture Minister Frédéric Mitterrand for his contribution to the fashion industry. Marc was called “an iconic designer, a gifted person, but also a hard worker.”

He has really done a lot for the business. Jacobs has been the creative director of French luxury label Louis Vuitton for many years already, since 1997, and since then the company has quadrupled its worth.

Together with Marc Nathalie Rykiel was honored this award. The fashion designer has long been a part of her Mother’s brand.

The Ordre des Arts et des Lettres is an Order of France established on May 2, 1957 by the Minister of Culture. It was later confirmed as an Ordre national du Mérite by then-President Charles de Gaulle in 1963. The aim is to recognize significant contributions to the arts, literature, or related fields.

The people awarded don’t have to be French exclusively. But the government require that citizens of the country must be at least 30 years old, adhere to French civil law, and must have “significantly contributed to the enrichment of the French cultural inheritance.”

There are three grades – Commandeur, Officier, and Chevalier. The latter, which both Rykiel and Jacobs received, stipulates that a medallion is worn on ribbon on left breast.

Among those who have receaived the Order are: Kylie Minogue, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Redford, Ella Fitzgerald, Bob Dylan, Meryl Streep, Jude Law, George Clooney and others.

Louis Vuitton collections have always been very unusual and different from others. But this season Marc Jacobs has gone too far, in my opinion.

louis vuitton animania collection 10

The Spring-Summer 2010 collection looks weird, especially those huge brightly-colored wigs. The Christmas ad campaign for accessories is also something fairy-like and far from reality. (Though I must admit the pieces look good). And now the new thing to make us surprised – Animania collection of accessories.

louis vuitton animania collection 9

The range is named Louis Vuitton Animania. All items are adorned with the famous monogram and should look chic but actually they look funny.

Little rabbits, birds, squirrels – all look too childish. And scarves that are to be worn by fashionistas are not sumptuous-looking.

louis vuitton animania collection 3

The collection is said to be inspired by Gaston-Louis Vuitton’s wooden toys collection. His wife used to collect the mini wonders in the early 20th century and now, in the early 2010, Marc Jacobs made those mini creatures bigger and fashionable!

All-the-time-confident Victoria Beckham confessed she felt embarassed to show her debut range for her label to Marc Jacobs, who is her good friend.
Victoria launched her line last year but had been terrified to showcase it to the acclaimed designer because he’s so talented and she knew so little.

victoria beckham

She commented:

When I came out with my first collection, I didn’t even tell Marc. Well, I felt a little bit embarrassed. He’s Marc Jacobs. What else can I say? I never really told him, and then we went to dinner and he said congratulations on all the reviews and the quality of my work. I’ve learned so much from him. I am such a sponge whenever I’m around him. He is one of the most intelligent, interesting people that I have ever met.”

Victoria’s collection was received warmly but the sales didn’t go well. However, this wasn’t enough to stop Posh from designing a line of dresses. By the way, Victoria says she feels grateful to fellow designer for advice and inspiration.

She told WWD:

I have utmost respect for Roland. I think he is incredibly talented. I love what he does. He’s a great businessman. When I very first started working on the dresses, he gave me advice when it came to putting my team together. He doesn’t have anything to do with the design of anything that I do. But he taught me about how to turn my dreams into reality, if you like. He told me I needed a production manager – he helped with that side of things. I do what I do, and he does what he does, and it’s incredibly separate.”

’s collaboration with was successful for both sides. But fashion changes and faces should change too. As we have mentioned before Lara Stone was invited to represent the brand in the new season, Spring-Summer 2010. And these photos are the first results of the work with the model.

Lara Stone embodies youth, sex appeal, chic and sophistication, that’s why have chosen her.

After our successful collaboration with , we are very happy to be working once again with Steven Meisel on the fashion campaign,” says Artistic Director .

Because the collection loosely took its cues from the idea of the New Age traveler, we decided to create a green, outdoorsy set that would evoke a spirit of peace and love. To model the clothes, we wanted a modern, iconic, sexy beauty… It had to be Lara Stone.”

The shoot is really sexy and luxurious. Lara is featured on a bed of moss and ferns, surrounded by white doves. The fresh background helps to accentuate the brightness and vividness of ’s collection and beautiful accessories, including ‘metallic Monogram canvas, sun-bleached Monogram denim bags, furry foxtail charms, hardware-inspired jewelry and wooden clogs embellished with rustic tufts of fur’.

It was a wonderful shoot,” continues . “Doves were flying, the atmosphere was sexy and magical, and the result is a set of images that are desirable, colorful, whimsical and, of course, luxurious.”

This is a very strong campaign, reflecting the vibrant, optimistic mood of the show,” agrees Antoine Arnault, Head of Communications for Vuitton. “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Steven Meisel, and to welcome Lara Stone as the voluptuous new embodiment of the woman.”

The will be published in February 2010 issues of glossies worldwide. Can’t wait to see the full set of pictures!

As soon as Marc Jacobs mentioned he would like to star in reality show he’s got lots of calls offering him that. Even Bravo executives, Frances Berwick and Andy Cohen, confessed they are desperate to have the designer for their program.

marc jacobs

The two didn’t reveal many details but they do have a lot to work on:

Oh, there’s loads. We’re increasing our original hours every year, so we have a lot of things coming down the pike. We can’t tell you, though, until they get on the air.”

When asked about the dream reality show Berwick said:

Oh, we’d love to persuade Marc Jacobs to do one. That’s what I was just going to say!”

Then Cohen added:

We love Marc. I think he got calls from everywhere. And we’ve talked to him about it so many times, and we’re grateful enough that he’s appeared on The Rachel Zoe Project for two seasons. But we are desperate for Marc — to get him on Bravo.”

If Marc agrees to work with Bravo his life won’t change much. He would just “live his life, his amazing life”.

And Cohen finalized:

I mean, just go. Just go! Open your eyes, let us put the tape in the camera, and let us go.”

Now we all wonder which reality show will Marc Jacobs choose.

Among all Glam Events Scream Awards are usually the most popular with young generation as these honor the best in sci-fi, horror, fantasy and comic-inspired movies and TV shows.

This year the Award took place on October, 17 at the Greek Theatre, and was one of the most attended shows of the year, not only by crazy fans but stars as well.

I wasn’t surprised to know that four films including Transformers, Twilight, True Blood and Star Trek took lots of trophies. And their role actors were nominated too. However, this isn’t what we are going to talk about. We are interested in and of course I have something to tell you about those.

megan fox spike tv scream awards 2009

Number one person in our list will be . The Transformers star looked absolutely stunning in a red slinky dress by Martin Grant and black shoes. Despite the fact she was voted best sci-fi actress I think she has no talent in acting. But what she is really good at is dressing!

anna paquin spike tv scream awards 2009

The next comes and her plum-hued Marc Jacobs dress. The actress looked fabulous. By the way, the dress looked very similar to the one nne Hathaway wore in May 2009 for The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion Costume Institute Gala.

Eliza Dushku goes number three with her simple but gorgeous clinging dress and black pumps. And her makeup is great too!

The Spring/Summer 2010 collection Marc Jacobs sent down the runway during was all about confusion.

Huge doll-like dyed wigs with little nice bows, fur tails attached to satchels and backpacks, shoes with fur additions together will clothes that didn’t seem to match to each other a lot – all these looked impressive but hard to understand.

marc jacobs for louis vuitton spring summer 2010

Clothes were all short, nothing went down the knee. And they came in restrained hues. There were no too bright or vibrant tones.

The color was mostly in the wigs. Plain patterns were incorporated into the along with some elaborate ones. signature sign stood conspicuosly on some designs.

louis vuitton spring summer 2010 1

Although the were fantastic I can’t say the same about the clothes. They looked a bit childish though some pieces were interesting.

I liked a dark fuchsia ruffled blouse, a lettuce-green summer frock with straps, and a jacket with dark-green pockets.

I have never thought the crazy idea of Playboy bunny ears will go any further than the catwalk show. But as we see those mad ears ARE trendy now.

Since launched the headwear celebrities have tried to adopt those into their outfits. Of course, these were very bold ladies, like , , the Olsens and .

According to Marc Jacobs, who is to blame for the new trend, he got the inspiration from a member of his design team wearing fabric tied around her head in a bow that resembled ears.

I still think they ears are not wearable, at least in everyday life. What do you think about it?
