Every glam event is a chance to show off oneself and often our stars use this rare opportunity to attract attention. The Oscar ceremony is one of the most expected, not only because we all want to know which films are considered the best but also to see what most glamorous women wear to it.
It is a common fact that to stand out at the Oscars is always a very difficult thing. But some women know very well how to do it. And one of these is definitely Jennifer Lopez. The singer appeared on the red carpet wearing a sumptuous strapless gown by Armani Prive.

By the way, Armani creations were extremely popular. Amanda Seyfried also wore a dress by this designer and looked absolutely gorgeous.

Vera Farmiga chose a more colorful dress from Marchesa, a real red-carpet label. The actress looked perfect.

Anna Kendrick was the embodiment of youth and chic as she wore a gorgeous Elie Saab gown to the event.

Sandra Bullock, who was named the Best Actress, sported a fabulous Marchesa frock. She opted for a silver clutch to match her outfit.

It was a big event yesterday (February 21) – British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards (BAFTA) 2010 – held at the Royal Opera House in London, England. Lots of celebrities attended it and some got their trophies. (Read the list of winners!) But everyone looked beautiful. And my task now is to show you the dresses I liked the most on the red carpet.
I’ll begin with Kristen Stewart. She wasn’t the best-dressed and her look seemed unfinished but she is the star of Twilight, the saga I liked so much, so she is the first on my list. Kristen looked good in short white strapless Chanel dress and a pair of matching heels. I do think she looks better in jeans.

Kate Winslet couldn’t miss this exciting event and appeared on the red carpet looking elegant and classy. I liked her black dress with lacy insets very much!

Vera Farmiga looked brilliant in a white assymetrical Marchesa gown. The dress was so cute that Vera was an absolute stand out for me!

We had been waiting for Critics’ Choice Awards 2010 for long. This event is important not only because it praises acting talents but because it is a huge fashion demonstration which allows lots of beautiful women to show off and see what others are worth!
This year the Awards were held on Friday, January 15 at the Hollywood Palladium. Everything was fantastic but weather. For some reason the sky decided our celebrities needed to go through some difficulties. But we are the people of the 21 century and what can rain do to us? Nothing! Plenty of special assistants were walking with the celebrities carrying umbrellas for them – really nice picture!
Well, in fact I’m more interested in dresses at the moment rather than weather problems. So, let’s begin.
The event was attended by a myriad of beauties, not only actresses but also singers, models and other socialites. Lots of glitz and glamour filled the red carpet. And it’s really hard to make the list of best dressed. But I’ve coped and here you can see it:

#1. Anna Kendrick. The girl looked very feminine and very chic at the same time. The assymetrical light-colored Marchesa gown accentuated her gorgeous figure perfectly. The clutch and the ring complemented the attire well.

#2. Chloe Sevigny. The soft lilac Valentino dress was the best choice. Ruffles are hot for the new coming season, so we can say Chloe is in trend! But she does need to smile!

#3. Halle Berry. Very sexy dress with a low cut looked fabulous on her! Men just couldn’t tear their eyes from her!

#4. Heidi Klum. This woman lives to be admired! She looks perfect. No signs of recent pregnancy!

Glam events are important for us to see what celebrities like about fashion. While desigers offer a great variety of styles and trends, celebs show exactlly what looks good.
Now let’s speak about fashion and style of AMA 2009 attendees. By the way, the event was held at L.A.’s Nokia Theatre yesterday (November 22).

My top pick is of course Rihanna in a strapless Marchesa gown with sexy floral cut-outs. The dress is truly special. It comes in an unusual shape and is black outside while being white on the inside. Fabulous white shoes and simple jewelry completed the attire.
What also deserves your attention here is Rihanna’s makeup. I think it’s crazy, not inspiring as the star might have hoped.

I love Versace and that’s why Shakira and her bright yellow strapless mini is the second on my list. Gorgeous figure plus absolutely marvellous frock and accessories make the 32-year-old beauty one of the best-looking on the red carpet.

Alicia Keys is the third with a hot blue dress embellished with gemstones.
She opted for beautiful blue shoes of the same hue, a tiny clutch and a set of sparkling jewelry to match the apparel.

Vivienne Westwood’s fan, Leona Lewis, comes next.
The dress she wore to the event was very like in style of the designer – royal luxury mixed with eccentric form in addition to simplicity of the idea. Robert Anthony ring fought for the attention of its own.

Red-carpet-event label Marchesa presented a gorgeous collection of evening dresses for Spring-Summer 2010.

The line is perfect as always. Even hard-to-please women can find a piece or two they will like a lot.

Talking about colors the designers chose for the collection we can say the focus is obviously on pastels and black-and-white combination. Spring is a delicate season and probably this was the reason for selecting reserved tones: pink, beige, peach, pretty light greens and violets together with vibrant purples.

Special attention should be given to black-and-white dresses which look classy and sophisticated.

Luxury house Marchesa is world-known for their exceptionally feminine dresses which have become frequent options for various red carpet events.
And now the brand is going to launch their first accessory collection that will debut for Spring 2010. The presentation of the handbag range will be held on Sept. 16 at The Chelsea Art Museum in New York.

The collection includes 28 clutches and evening cases which are elaborately designed to match glamorous evening gowns.
We had never done accessories,” said co-founder and designer Georgina Chapman. “So we thought, ‘Let’s approach it the way we approach a dress.’”

It comes as no surprise that most of the clutches in the upcoming line will perfectly match the spring Marchesa collection of dresses. The bags are glitzy, detailed, overtly feminine, and look like they are meant to be worn to black tie events.

Despite all those problems caused by the economic downturn some designers still prefer to use rich fabrics and luxurious details. New York Fashion Week has seen plenty of those and now we will speak about one more brand that is highly unpractical in our tough times – Marchesa.

As you know Marchesa’s bread and butter is gowns, so even when others feel too wasteful to create chic dresses this season, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig are going ahead full-force.

If you’ve already seen the collection you would probably ask what the inspiration was for that sophisticated line.

The answer is: an extravagant fairy tale involving girls walking through the woods in beautiful ballgowns.

The result is stunning: a tulle-d, lace-d, sequined, and beribboned range — sometimes too fluffy or too simple, but always hot and carpet-ready.
