It is a common fact that to stand out at the Oscars is always a very difficult thing. But some women know very well how to do it. And one of these is definitely Jennifer Lopez. The singer appeared on the red carpet wearing a sumptuous strapless gown by Armani Prive.

By the way, Armani creations were extremely popular. Amanda Seyfried also wore a dress by this designer and looked absolutely gorgeous.

Vera Farmiga chose a more colorful dress from Marchesa, a real red-carpet label. The actress looked perfect.

Anna Kendrick was the embodiment of youth and chic as she wore a gorgeous Elie Saab gown to the event.

Sandra Bullock, who was named the Best Actress, sported a fabulous Marchesa frock. She opted for a silver clutch to match her outfit.

Rachel McAdams looked uber feminine in a strapless flower-patterned dress by Elie Saab.

Mariah Carey opted for an elegant Valentino dress. The star was accompanied with her husband.

Penelope Cruz donned a ruby Donna Karan and looked wonderful in it from the waist up, but the drapes at her feet seemed too voluminous for the actress’s tiny frame.

Zoe Saldana looked funny in her lilac Givenchy haute couture dress, like a lantern on a Christmas tree.

Sarah Jessica Parker wore a cream-colored Chanel dress with silver flower detail in front. Looked pretty!

Diane Kruger also wore Chanel to the Oscars.

Demi Moore looked very womanly and sophisticated in her blush-pink ruffled frock by Atelier Versace.

The new star in Hollywood Gabourey Sidibe wore a blue Marchesa dress to the ceremony and looked very pretty!

Performing at the latest stop on her Angels’ Advocate Tour in Los Angeles two days ago (February 23), Mariah showed off her figure in all its glory in a tight-fitting strapless gold dress. The dress was a luxury but, unfortunately, it couldn’t hide how big the star was.

When the singer appeared at the stage she was wearing a ball gown. But soon the lower section of it was torn off and she remained in a ruffled mini that was obviously too small for the body it had to hold.

Sorry to say that, but you need to lose weight, Mariah.

When she started dating her husband Nick in March 2008, she was slim and toned. But after they married the star forgot about diets and enjoyed her new life. Now it’s time to remember she can’t live that way all the time. If it goes on soon we’ll see a huge ball instead of the singer we all love so much.

Blue color was especially popular that day. Lots of beautiful women chose blue dresses to sparkle on the red carpet. Tina Fey was one of those and she looked very charminig! Her dress was Ferragamo’s creation and looked perfect.

Gabourey Sidibe opted for a blue gown too. The girl looked happy being at the event. Speaking about her style I can’t say what I really think of it because all I can concentrate looking on her is her body… Sorry for that.

Jenna Fisher looked glamorous wearing a navy blue bustier dress. A glitzy clutch was perfect to match the attire.

Very feminine-looking was Christina Applegate who went for an airy Roberto Cavalli gown, a sparkling clutch and fabulous jewelry.

Vera Farmiga’s sky-blue dress looked great on the actress flattering her complexion wonderfully.

Samantha Harris went for a look of Grecian goddess in blue. The dress was nice but accessories were chosen wrongly.

The blue dress by Monique Lhuillier that Drew Barrymore sported to the Awards was a real disappointment for me. The second skirt ruined evrything by breaking the girl’s silhuette unflatteringly.

Julianna Margulies looked stunning in a floor length blue velvet Narciso Rodriguez halter dress.

Anna Paquin amazed everyone when she arrived to the event wearing a dress from (You wouldn’t believe it!!!) Alexander McQueen Spring-Summer 2010 futuristic sea-inspired collection. She looked glorious and was obviously the trendiest girl of the evening! By the way, she wore normal shoes, not those monster ones the designer created to go with dress.

Anna Kendrick looked super-pretty donning a purple floor-sweeping dress by Alberta Ferretti. I loved her bracelet!

Meryl Streep was gorgeous in her green-white-black gown. She was a perfect example of a woman who knows what heradvantages are!

Kate Hudson again opted for white. This time it was a strapless gown with a waist detail. Looked good!

The dress I really loved was Nicole Kidman’s one from Oscar de la Renta. The gown was a combination of bronze, red, and teal. And it was sequin embroidered.

Penelope Cruz wore a simple black dress that complemented her figure a lot.

Diane Kruger selected a yellow-toned dress with a long train and looked perfect in it. And what is more important is that was a real stand-out of blue-red-black group of ladies.

The singer commented:

I wear high heels all the time. Even my slippers. I can’t even walk in flats.”

However, her love of stillettos causes some problems when filming her new movie, ‘Precious‘. Mariah plays Miss Weiss, a world-weary welfare officer who gradually unpicks the tragic life story of a teenager who is abused by both her mother and father.

Director Lee Daniels said:

Mariah was born as an embryo in stiletto heels. She walks – even in her home – on her f*…ing toenails!”

Well, while writing this post I had an idea that the real problem might not be in Mariah’s obsession about heels but in her feet deformation. It happens when a woman wears high heels all the time. Probably it’s time to vist a doctor.

Previously Mariah Carey’s perfumes sold extremely well. There were M by Mariah Carey , Luscious Pink and now we can see the third perfume Forever.

The name is the same as her new single Forever.

I am in a wonderful place right now, surrounded by all the things I love, and Forever captures this moment in time.”

Forever is affluent floral perfume with notes of lotus blossom, tuberose, gardenia, exotic woods and white musk.

The new aroma will also include a parfum ($250!) and a body lotion ($28). The design of the bottle was made after Mariah’s appreciation for art deco stylings.

The price will start at $42 for a 1-oz. spray.

As a result of a competition Mariah Carey chose Julian Contreras. It were over 4,000 entries.

Contreras’ sketch will be expressed into a dress and worn by Mariah Carey at an event early next year, said Ashley Futak, a spokeswoman for Brickfish, a social media marketing company that sponsored the dispute.

The 20 year old designer said:

“Being a designer has always been my dream since I was 5 years old. I just can’t believe I won.”

I wanted to design something that would show off her figure and enhance her curves.”

Contreras dress is a form-fitting, mauve pink with an asymmetrical shoulder strap decorated with a sparkling pin.

The grand prize signifies that the Luscious Pink dress Contreras will be created in three more models:

once for the Mariah Carey to wear, once for Contreras to keep in his own line, and once as an auction item at a benefit for Susan G. Komen for the Cure breast cancer awareness.

I wanted to design something that would show off her figure and enhance her curves,” said Contreras, who still lives in San Jose. He said it wasn’t yet clear when Carey would wear the dress, but it’s expected to be completed in the next three months.

It’s always attractive to see what kind of costumes our favorite celebrities will select each Halloween. And this year, it seems Kim Kardashian was feeling a bit marvellous.
