Majority of dresses in Herve Leger Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 collection had huge amount of metal pieces sewn in between bands of material, and covered with buckle rings and chains woven into the fabric. That looked interesting and pretty different to a few dresses which were made in the old Herve Leger tradition.

The totally new thing featured in Herve Leger Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 collection was the introduction of several non-bandage pieces—a beautiful ponyskin coat and top and a pair of chic cropped wool trousers. To tell you the truth, I didn’t like this change at all because I wouldn’t want Herve Leger to blend in with other fashion brands. They have their signature style which has to be preserved.

Orange. It’s vibrant and energetic and seems to be the most exciting color trend of Spring/ Summer 2011 fashion season.

Many designers used orange in plenty in their collections. Issa, Prada and Marni used the hottest tints of orange creating the illusion of fabrics burning on skin. Max Azria and Alberta Ferretti opted for softer hues and combined those with neutral colors like black and beige making outfits more versatile.

White. This color abounds in almost every Spring/ Summer 2011 collection. Now not only short white dresses are in trend but also mannish white shirts, skinny white pants and maxi dresses in a variety of textures.

Deep purple and bright pink. These tones aren’t among the hottest color trends of Spring/ Summer 2011 but we can’t ignore them. Designers played with deep purple, dark violet, and neon pink, and though they used these scarcely the collections became more cheerful.

Christian Dior, Gucci, Prabal Gurung, Max Mara, Victoria Beckham and a few other designers opted for purples and violets to blend the generally delicate and emotionless color schemes.

Light grey and stone. While grey and stone tints may be considered dull and boring they look incredibly good in combinations with other tones. You can do this or try a total grey look with a couple of pretty accessories.

Lemon. Lemon in all its possible variations looks great. From very pale to saturated, lemon color was represented in Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta, Missoni, Monique Lhuillier, Mary Katrantzou, Nina Ricci and many other collections.

Black. Every season I write that black is the trend, and I’m sure I’ll do it again and again. Black is elegant and slimming, and these are the characteristics we love it for.

Blue and navy. Blue is a fantastic color in terms of using it in clothing. Garments of this tone become universal pieces as it is easily teamed up with other tones and prints. While Prada opted for electric blue, Paul Smith, Calvin Klein and Vivienne Westwood used more subdued tints. And Diane von Furstenberg played with different tones of blue.

Light green. Burberry Prorsum offered us this color, but there were examples of using it in Sass & Bide, Alberta Ferretti and other collections. Like it or not, but it is a Spring/ Summer 2011 trend.

Prints are going to be very trendy in Spring/ Summer 2011.

Floral prints. (Know all about floral print trend of Spring/ Summer 2011) Everyone from a fashion expert to an ordinary observer noticed that floral prints were becoming a new hot trend. Alberta Ferretti used huge flower patterns to decorate her dresses, Christian Siriano preferred to use blurred and indistinct floral prints, Dolce & Gabbana had florettes in lace while Marc Jacobs used the motif to create belts and headwear.

Stripes. Stripes weren’t as popular as floral prints, but we see them in many designer collections. In L.A.M.B. stripes are huge and multicolored, Paul Smith used pinstripes, and Prada experimented with black and blue, and orange and black.

Polka dots are interesting this season. Tiny dots come printed on dresses and shirts, and huge dots look beautiful on gowns.

As you see the color palette for Spring/ Summer 2011 isn’t much diverse but there are interesting hues to experiment with!

The girl who surprised me was Katie Cassidy who looked fabulous in her Georges Chakra black lace dress. It was her first winning moment on the red carpet that cemented her style icon status.

Camilla Belle walked the red carpet in a demure but very elegant Kimberly Ovitz creation. The film star, who recently topped the Annual Independent Critics List of the 100 Most Beautiful Famous Faces, teamed up her option with a Maia N. clutch and Stuart Weitzman shoes.

Glee actress Lea Michele wore a pretty white dress from The Row at 2010 Hollywood Style Awards. The girl completed her look with Fendi bag, Lorraine Schwartz jewels, and Christian Louboutin shoes.

Zooey Deschanel’s fashion option at 2010 Hollywood Style Awards was disappointing. Despite the fact the little black dress always looks good Zooey wore it too simply. Total black didn’t work well.

Disney star Selena Gomez, on the contrary, looked her best at 2010 Hollywood Style Awards in a cute sparkling Max Azria Atelier frock.

Just like Selena Gomez Victoria Justice and Kaley Cuoco also donned glitzy dresses.

While Victoria chose to wear a mini dress, Kaley strutted the red carpet in a floor-length shoulder-revealing Oday Shakar gown.

Krysten Ritter shone on the red carpet in an eye-catching floral Alberta Ferretti design.

Asda’s PR head Leah Watson said:

The response has been overwhelming – everybody loves Miley. When worn, the jewelry is no way dangerous for health, but if it is ingested for some reason serious kidney and liver problems can occur.

Although the jewelry collection is not intended for kids’ wear some of the pieces are very popular with younger customers. And if these pieces are “sucked, bitten or swallowed” the cadmium could prove toxic.

A statement released to E! News on behalf of all parties involved read:

To tell you the truth I haven’t expected the clothes to be so nice. They do look great! And probably Miley is partially right about the age of people who can wear these.

Actually she said:

I think some of the pieces are highly wearable by women of many ages, for example, jeans and some of the tops.

The line is pretty diverse judging by the pieces we see. It includes plaid shirts, ruffled blouses, leggings, high-waisted shorts and T-shirts with vests sewn onto them.

Though Miley says the range can be worn by anyone from 8 to 80, it seems to us teenagers will like it more than people of other generations.

I wanted to finally make something that was for girls my age. Something me and my friends would wear,” Miley tells PEOPLE.

The designs were partially inspired by Miley’s trips to Europe where she visited lots of stores and liked lots of styles.

It was Wal-Mart which unites the two for a fashion line affordable for usual customers. The line that is called Miley Cyrus & Max Azria will include pants, tops, graphic T-shirts, shoes, and accessories. All items will be priced under $20.

For Miley it is quite clear why she agreed for the collaboration. First of all she improves her own image making it more respectable and sophisticated working with a world-known designer. Secondly, she is making steps towards more serious audience, that is significant too.

Besides, her own popularity will grow along with her profits. Actually Miley is already a top-selling recording artist at Wal-Mart, where much of her teen audience already shops, so the collaboration will provoke even more interest from customers than ever.

Miley herself is very happy about the teaming up. At her Twitter page she wrote:

I love creating looks that are all about personal expression and individuality.”

Collaborating with Max Azria has been an amazing experience, and I’m really excited about launching this line with Walmart. There’s even more to come!”

Well, and what about Max Azria? Why did he decide to work with Miley? He is a designer best known for the stylish BCBGMAXAZRIA line, whose mission is “innovative, high-quality clothing at realistic price points.” But Azria’s definition of “realistic” is rather flexible: his T-shirts start at a relatively cheap $38, but most BCBG tops are in the $100 to $200 range.

Nevertheless, Max says:

Miley Cyrus is talented and approachable, so working with her sparked a line that is authentic and vibrant.”

Probably he really wants to enliven his creativity with the help of Hanna Montana star. She is young and interesting and can offer something absolutely new and unexpected.

But what definitely brings benefits to Max Azria is pairing with Wal-Mart. While Azria’s last retail partner, Nordstrom, has a far more affluent clientele than Wal-Mart, co-branding is clearly becoming an important way to widen his reach. Wal-Mart is a new territory for Azria, and thus Miley who is quite popular there can do a lot to achieve the goal.

Besides, working with Wal-Mart is important for the designer because with the huge effect of the economic downturn his ordinary customers have to economize and thus Wal-Mart is a pretty wise move.

The pairing also makes sense for Wal-Mart, positioned as a chain for consumers living in all-the-time saving. The financial crisis made the stores more popular. And though the $20 price point is high for the store, it is quite low for many new Wal-Mart customers. So, the idea of working together is advantageous for all the three partners. Hope it will work!

This is the Nastia Liukin’s first fashion campaign.

For the Max Azria campaign, we wanted someone iconic- someone timeless. We met Nastia at our last runway show, and she was everything we were looking for”, commented Lubov Azria, creative director of Max Azria to WWD.
