The 706-page tome tells about 30 years of innovations and experiments in fashion, art, architecture, cinema and communications.

The book is aptly named “Prada” and is published by Prada Progetto Arte. The price for that is 100 euros ($150). You can find it in Prada stores worldwide, in select bookstores and on prada.com.

She explained:

I’m working on a men’s collection right now and someone at the office worriedly asked me, ‘You’re not going to make short skirts again, are you?’ So I’m now pushing it even further, just for revenge!”

The 60-year-old designer likes inventing things. She prefers to work on unusual fashion styles as these stop her from being bored.

She said:

Menswear should take cues from womenswear, and not just the other way around. Menswear is so limited so I’m free with my ideas. Otherwise I’d die of boredom.”

Miuccia also noted that she hates “cliches” associated with the work of designers.

She said:

I hate the cliche of fashion designers since the beginning. And so because I came from another background – and actually being a feminist at those times, not that I’ve changed so much – I didn’t want to do anything that fashion designers were doing.”

So, men will be soon advised to wear super-shorts skirts. Well, probably this will look interesting on some of them.

Short, high-waisted dresses with nice prints, quirky but elegant pantsuits, cutouts on the torso – were the designs Italian designer Miuccia Prada made for young and fashion-conscious.

I was questioning innocence, questioning youth,” Prada said backstage. “What do they mean today in a world that’s the opposite?”

The prints and embellishments were interesting enough: the cat and bird and dog patterns, as well as holographic paillettes and crystals embroidered on sheer nude mesh insets.

Some dresses looked too childish to wear as well as a few blouses. I can hardly imagine some stars like Madonna, Kate Moss or even Lily Allen wearing any of these.

The accessory line was very limited. Shoes came all in the same style but in various colors and different detailing. Handbags were simple, though some of the clutches were nice.

And as in many other designer collections we saw a braid – the top hairdo of the next season!

Two models fell down right on the catwalk wearing high-heeled reptile-leather shoes. The designer didn’t get upset, she even felt pleased (!!!), as this falls made her show at Milan Fashion Week last September memorable.

She said:

I liked it. It made the show more interesting.”

While Miuccia was enjoying the success her models were terrified about walking out in those skyscraper-heels.

One beauty said:

I was having a panic attack, my hands were shaking. The heels were so high. Some of the girls were crying backstage they were so scared.”

Well, maybe the designer wouldn’t agree with me but no fashion is worth people’s suffering. This has to be stopped.
