This Saturday 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were held in Los angeles, California. And as usual lots of beautiful women attended the event wearing chic dresses.
Red on the red carpet doesn’t look bad. Mariah Carey just proves that with her red assymetrical gown. Her earrings are spectacular!

Christina Hendricks was red hot wearing a magical red one-shoulder dress with golden earrings and bracelets.

Carey Mulligan rocked a sumptuous red frock with a beautiful flower brooch on the waist.

Blue color was especially popular that day. Lots of beautiful women chose blue dresses to sparkle on the red carpet. Tina Fey was one of those and she looked very charminig! Her dress was Ferragamo’s creation and looked perfect.

Clair Danes has announced that her wedding dress would be designed by her close friend and an outstanding designer, Narciso Rodriguez. The two have been friends for a long time already.

The actress appeared at the CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday night at Alice Tully Hall in New York on the arm of Rodriguez, saying that as a date, she finds him “very cheeky and playful and funny, kind and dear . . . one of my dear friends. Any excuse to hang out with him is welcome,” she said.
Rodriguez agreed to make a wedding gown for Clair and she feels really happy and excited about it.
He’s making it. I get weepy. .. more emotional than I was expecting,” she confessed. “It’s intimate.”
When asked whether it is easy working with a friend Danes replied:
It’s amazing. I’m so privileged. I’m collaborating a little bit, but I’m just trusting him implicitly. I’m offing my ideas, but they always pale in comparison to his.”
All we know about the dress itself is that it is going to be white.
Narciso said Clair is easy to design for:
She’s an extraordinary woman inside and out. That always comes through. You can’t hide it. I just try to make her look more beautiful,” he said. “And it’s not hard to make her look beautiful.”
Narciso Rodriguez has lots of experience dressing beautiful women. He designed Caroline Bessette Kennedy’s dress for her 1996 wedding to John F. Kennedy Jr., Michelle Obama’s attire as she made her first appearance as the wife of President-Elect Barack Obama. His other clients are: Sarah Jessica Parker, Salma Hayek, and Rachel Weisz.

As you probably know at the ceremony CFDA Journal is distributed among the attendees. This time the nominees are featured in it wearing their own creations. It is worth seeing!
For example, Swarovski Womenswear Designer nominee Jason Wu models one of his evening gowns over a suit.
Designer of the Year nominees Laura and Kate Mulleavy of Rodarte are featured with rosy cheeks. International Award winner for Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, dons a pair of the bunny ears from his latest show on.

Another Swarovski Award For Womenswear Alexander Wang also poses in his creations.

These short dresses have been presented in many collections by famous designers, such as Rodarte, Herve Leger, Thakoon, Givenchy and others.
And they surely deserve our attention as they look stylish and womanly despite the fact Narciso Rodriguez confessed his inspiration for the creation of such dresses were chains and lashes – as a result aggressiveness turned into femininity.

Bandage-dresses are not new to us as last year we saw some in designers’ lines but this season they are much nicer and more tailored.
I especially like dresses by Herve Leger. They have something from punk-style but at the same time they are so nice-looking and sexy!
Such a dress can easily be accessorized with various pieces and depending on the style of those it will look differently.
For instance, when worn with classic shoes and sophisticated jewelry a bandage dress will look fabulous even on the red.

But if you choose massive jewelry and gladiator boots the whole image will change and you can got to a party of punk-rock-music lovers.
So, everything depends on you and your imagination. Create your own look, make a stand out!
