Claudia Schiffer, Helena Christensen and Eva Herzigova are known as supermodels of the nineties. But they make another comeback with their cover of September 2011 issue of Spanish Vogue. All three supermodels are dressed in Dolce & Gabbana star-printed dresses and are showing off their mild long legs in towering heels. The trio of supermodels who are in their late 30s and early 40s look great on the magazine cover shot by Tom Munro.

Supermodels get their own separate spreads in the magazine each named with the models’ names and shot by different photographers. Helena Christensen poses in a series of shots by Miguel Reveriego wearing some hot pants, bras and open button denim shirts. Though the outfits don’t look quite wearable.

Eva Herzigova poses in a series of shots by Paola Kudacki with a head of curls in some classy outfits. The 38 year-old supermodel wears almost no makeup and looks beautiful in her photo spread “Eva”.

Claudia Schiffer dons wide-brim hats, fur, and dresses looking stunning in her black and white photo set by Tom Munro.

The fashion insiders say that the models are making comeback to fashion magazine covers  because the economy of today doesn’t let mags spend more money on inviting a celebrity. So don’t expect to see only celebrities on fashion magazine covers this September. The faces you will also see are those of Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford, Natalia Vodianova, Heidi Klum, and Karlie Kloss.

Cindy Crawford has spoken about the industry changes that had less and less job opportunities for models these days as celebrities become faces of collections, brands, and campaigns. Although no details are given in the press some rumors started buzzing as early as March 2011. The couple was reported to have problems and spouses spent a lot of time living in different countries. And while we had still hoped the Russian Cinderella would do everything to save the marriage the result was announced yesterday – Vodianova and Portman split.

Natalia Vodianova doesn’t comment on the details of the split. All she says is it is all ‘sensitive’:

It’s really sad. It has been a while. We didn’t want to talk about it. We still don’t. Our children are very much aware of it. It’s OK. We’re still in a very sensitive position right now, and trying to do things as amicably as possible, so I wouldn’t want to talk about it at all. I don’t think I ever will want to, because it’s strictly between my husband and me.”

Tom Ford sent his models down the runway in chic and sophisticated clothing, that I’m sure will sell out pretty fast. It seems like Tom Ford has spent years planning and researching the need and the trends of the market not for nothing.

Carey wowed fashion experts at the Oscars when she appeared on the red carpet wearing a luxury Prada gown embellished with hundreds of jewels. However, the 25-year-old doesn’t think she deserves such a status. She says she has a great stylist who dresses her for glam events and in life she prefers rather simple clothing. She also made it clear she wants people to appreciate her for her acting rather than fashion choices.

She said:

I was at a press conference and Woody Harrelson was answering questions about how he felt about his character. I got up there, and they said, “What are you wearing?” And I thought, “There was a time when I was an actress. Not just someone who wore dresses.”

Nevertheless Harper’s Bazaar experts consider Carey Mulligan worthy of being named The Best Dressed Woman of the Year. Fashion designer Erdem Moralioglu, who was on the judging panel, said of the actress’s style:

So Sixties French New Wave – like a Godard starlet – but totally modern.”

Both women and men arrived wearing chic and stylish outfits. Majority of celebrity guests wore masks to mark the celebration. By the way, the Vogue anniversary issue features Lara Stone wearing a lace mask, too.

The party was grand and everyone had a good time, but that’s not what I’m planning to talk about. The clothing is far more important for me, as usual.)))

Gisele Bundchen looked fantastic in her strapless black gown with a pretty bow in front. She had lace mask covering half of her face. Beautiful!

Natalia Vodianova also opted for a black dress. Her mask was very sheer but looked great.

Alessandra Ambrosio decided to go bright for the event. Her scarlet dress looked really sexy. However, she wasn’t alone who wore red. Lily Donaldson arrived in a luxurious gown with sheer top.

Tyra Banks surprised everyone with her mask that she claimed she had made on her own.

Lara Stone donned a dark green party dress to the Vogue celebration.

Kate Moss looked stylish but her hair was far from perfection. Nothing amazing actually.

Styled by Stella McCartney herself Natalia Vodianova looks sexy and beautiful. The garments she wears are pretty and very similar to Stella’s personal style.

Nevertheless, the pictures for Fall/ Winter 2010/ 2011 ad campaign look uninteresting. The grey background makes the photos look gloomy. And even funny letters with cartoon top hats and hands don’t chage the dark mood the campain casts over us.

For the next season Jacobs is very enthusiastic as it is going to be a “manifesto for beautiful, ladylike clothes”. The designer made these comments as the new Louis Vuitton campaign was shot by photographer Steven Meisel.

Models Christy Turlington, Natalia Vodianova and Karen Elson grace the advert together. The three are featured sitting in a dressing room conjuring up a Hollywood retro-glamour feel.

The ad campaign was praised by Antoine Arnault, Louis Vuitton’s head of communications:

In his fourth campaign for Louis Vuitton, Steven Meisel has produced another richly evocative set of images. What better way to celebrate eternal femininity than with three of the world’s most beautiful women?”

The adverts feature the ladies dressed in retro-inspired garments sitting in a New York studio made to look like a Hollywood star’s old-fashioned dressing room. All looked exquisite and sophisticated.

There is even too much of perfection in Louis Vuitton Fall/ Winter 2010/ 2011 ad campaign. It looks a bit unreal and too beautiful. But I do like seeing it.
