I would start from Chirstian Louboutin shoes. They are the best for me. I know you would say it is banal but these shoes are really special. Yes, they aren’t very comfortable, and those heels are often hard to walk in but they are worth the pain we suffer. The designer was right. Manolo Blahnik shoes are fabulous. They are more diverse in styles and colors and are perfectly comfy. Maybe they don’t look as impressive as Loubooutins but they certainly do look more feminine and delicate. See Manolo Blahnik Spring/ Summer 2012 shoe collection.

Gaetano Perrone has released just one collection under his own name but it has already found its fans. It is not surprising at all considering the fact he has been creating footwear for Alexander McQueen for a few years. His shoes are spectacular – extravagant but incredibly beautiful in design they will soon appear on the red carpet as often as shoes of other exclusive brands. I was impressed with Nicholas Kirkwood’s first footwear collection and immediately remembered the name of a young but very talented designer. D&G Spring/ Summer 2012 collection seems a little out-of-place here due to the fact it is casual and shoes presented in it are far from being cute or elegant but don’t we all from time to time turn to comfier styles – flats, wedges, even sneakers? Miranda Kerr looked fabulous in her optical illusion Peter Pilotto dress which she teamed with unusual Nicholas Kirkwood shoes.

The Green Lantern star Blake Lively opted for a full Chanel outfit. She looked very stylish but it was really unusual to see her in something which doesn’t expose her even a bit.

Young actress Chloe Moretz also arrived to The Museum of Modern Art’s 2011 Film Benefit in a Chanel creation. She wore a lovely beaded dress, lacy leggings and black pumps.

Crazy Stupid Love actress Emma Stone looked amazing in a floor-length floral-printed dress.

Ashley and Marie-Kate Olsen’s younger sister Elizabeth attended The Museum of Modern Art’s 2011 Film Benefit in an asymmetrical black-and-red dress.

Olivia Wilde was also in attendance. She chose a lovely dress which showed off her cleavage for the occasion.

Nicholas Kirkwood’s inspiration for his Spring/ Summer 2012 shoe collection were the florals and tropical brights. Being on a vacation on Bali in August the designer realized he wanted to do something less edgy and aggressive. What he wanted were the softer hues, delicate patterns and comfier designs.

Nicholas Kirkwood commented:

[It] was my first holiday since starting the business seven years ago. And I came back wanting to do something more colorful and a little softer than before.”

The collection is indeed much softer than Nicholas Kirkwood’s previous ranges. It includes a variety of styles featuring sexy pumps, sandals with chunky heels and very comfortable flats.

Despite the fact Nicholas Kirkwood liked the new twist in his Spring/ Summer 2012 shoe collection I wasn’t that much impressed. I came to know the designer for his deep colors and daring shapes. And I still like him for that. I hope it was just a short break in his job, simply a more relaxed approach to work. And I do hope that he soon returns to that great energy he used to put into his creations which made me a true fan of his.

I’m really happy that Victoria Beckham was nominated for Designer Brand of the Year. And despite the fact she lost the award to Mulberry it shows that she has become important in the fashion industry. That’s what she’s been working hard for.

Lara Stone was named the Model of the Year and she deserves this. She has actually become the first curvy (not plus-size) model who’s achieved such success in the world of rail-thin models. Congrats!

Alexander McQueen was posthumously awarded with BFC Outstanding Achievement in Fashion. No comments. He was a genius.

Designer of extravagant shoes Nicholas Kirkwood received Accessory Designer award while Phoebe Philo for Céline was named Designer Of The Year.

For his Fall/ Winter 2010/ 2011 collection Nicholas Kirkwood tried to make his footwear more feminine and of course he succeeded in his attempt. He added a bit of lace, bright color, embroidery, cute buckles and carved the heels in a weird but attractive manner.

Bright floral prints make the range look feminine and lively while signature Nicholas Kirkwood’s platform and heel add modernity and glamour.

I’m a huge fan of Nicholas Kirkwood designs. Although they are rather pricey I still buy those and then wear with pleasure. By the way, you’ll have to pay $827 USD for a pair of shoes from the new collection for Liberty. And my question is: would you like to own a pair from Kirkwood’s range?

Shoes look pretty and unususal. Some would be perfect for evenings out but most of the pairs are appropriate for daily wear.

Structured heels are signature for the designer and he uses his trademark in every shoe he creates. Customers like it. That’s what important.

I love the shoes that come in classic design, they look really nice and would look even better with an office suit. Great collection.

But Christian is not only an exceptionally talented designer, he is a man who knows the world and is aware of financial instability. So he has collaborated with Payless for the third time already to create a line of shoes and bags for reasonable prices.

Of course the newly-made collection isn’t as sophisticated and edgy as the one for catwalk but it’s nice and very affordable. No pair is more expensive than $50.

According to the official press materials, the designer was inspired by the notion of luxurious Mediterranean travel, and the shoes “mirror this inspiration and are truly dramatic works of art conveying strength and textural tribal themes with the use of mottled prints and hides combined with raw metal sequins and details.”

The shoes featured a curved heel and an exaggerated platform slightly reminding us of Nickolas Kirkwood’s signature platform for the Fall 2009 collection.

Generally the shoe line is elegant and beautiful. But I’m a woman who loves expensive shoes of a very high quality. I better save some money to buy a catwalk pair. What do you think of the collection?

The new Spring-Summer collection is a parade of post-apocalyptic warrior princesses. The models were wearing unusually torn and twisted garments on hugely inked bodies. Tribal tattoos were everywhere, from the girls’ shoulders to wrists and together with fierce vampire-looking makeup created a bit bizarre impression. To add to that, the models had to walk a black sand-covered runway, through the thick fog of dry ice Nicholas Kirkwood bondage heels.

Short dresses with twisted plaid and raw-edged fabric, longer black gothic dresses embellished with feathers and strips of leather and a pair of skinny black rocker pants with silver zippers and cut outs along the thigh and calf and lots of other really weaird outfits looked unspeakable .

Kate and Laura Mulleavy said the collection was inspired by a trip with Johnson Hartig of Libertine to California’s Death Valley.

We imagined this woman who was stranded and mangled and burnt alive, and then being reborn as a Californian condor. What we wanted to say was that this person could tell a story. Their bodies would be a physical transformation, there would be scars everywhere. So that’s where the tattoos on the body come in. And the idea of having hair that looked like it still had ash on it.”

To make the collection possible Rodarte sisters had to burn, stain and sandpaper all types of expensive fabrics, then spent two months hand braiding leather, plastic and macramé to piece together the look of a stranded woman in the middle of the desert. What they got in the result was “it’s about empowerment and survival and coming up stronger for it.”

Nicholas Kirkwood prefered to experiment with geometric shapes and types, contrasting textures, sleek platforms. He makes sculptural look and breathtaking heels and his shoes are real artworl.

He mixes various elements and materials: pearls, suede, leather, sparkles, crystals and more!
