Every glam event is a chance to show off oneself and often our stars use this rare opportunity to attract attention. The Oscar ceremony is one of the most expected, not only because we all want to know which films are considered the best but also to see what most glamorous women wear to it.
It is a common fact that to stand out at the Oscars is always a very difficult thing. But some women know very well how to do it. And one of these is definitely Jennifer Lopez. The singer appeared on the red carpet wearing a sumptuous strapless gown by Armani Prive.

By the way, Armani creations were extremely popular. Amanda Seyfried also wore a dress by this designer and looked absolutely gorgeous.

Vera Farmiga chose a more colorful dress from Marchesa, a real red-carpet label. The actress looked perfect.

Anna Kendrick was the embodiment of youth and chic as she wore a gorgeous Elie Saab gown to the event.

Sandra Bullock, who was named the Best Actress, sported a fabulous Marchesa frock. She opted for a silver clutch to match her outfit.

This Saturday 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were held in Los angeles, California. And as usual lots of beautiful women attended the event wearing chic dresses.
Red on the red carpet doesn’t look bad. Mariah Carey just proves that with her red assymetrical gown. Her earrings are spectacular!

Christina Hendricks was red hot wearing a magical red one-shoulder dress with golden earrings and bracelets.

Carey Mulligan rocked a sumptuous red frock with a beautiful flower brooch on the waist.

Blue color was especially popular that day. Lots of beautiful women chose blue dresses to sparkle on the red carpet. Tina Fey was one of those and she looked very charminig! Her dress was Ferragamo’s creation and looked perfect.

It’s cold outside and we all want spring to come as soon as possible with its warmth, sun and greenness. And while there is little brightness out there we can think about things that can enliven our life.
Let’s talk about bracelets now. Bracelets are must-haves in any woman’s wardrobe. And we all have so many of them! But do you know that they initially were worn only by men? Read the history of bracelets here.

Spring-Summer 2010 season sees lots of bracelets worn all over the arm, from wrists to forearms. And the diversity of styles and designs is huge.
Let me show you the bracelets I liked the most in designers’ collections.
John Galliano and Lanvin created very elaborate and chic pieces, with lots of beads, chains and gemstones.

Jean Paul Gaultier preferred plastic to other materials and made very extravagant bracelets which could be worn on forearms and elbows.

Scarlett Johansson is a super celebrity now. She works with best fashion brands and covers most beatiful fashion magazines. What her secret is I wonder.

The blonde actress graces Harper’s Bazaar UK January 2010 cover as well as a number of glamorous photos. Scarlett looks stunning as always, wearing Yves Saint Laurent, Dolce&Gabbana and Oscar de la Renta. Besides, she dons a T-shirt from Gap and Converse trainers. And of course, we cannot miss that special edition jewelry by Solange Azagury Partridge which is absolutely wonderful!
Alexi Lubomirski photographed the star.

Charity is a simple way to help people in need. It’s great if you do it not for PR but because you are truly compassionate and generous.
A group of world-famous designers were asked to help raise money for a charity organisation that deals with homeless families and women who lost everything but want to get back on their feet.
The task was easy and creative – just right for a designer – to decorate small papier-mâché houses which would later be sold on auction.
Among those who found time and desire to help were Oscar de la Renta, Issak Mizrahi, Diane von Furstenberg, Vera Wang, Donna Karan, Victoria and David Beckham, Justin Timberlake and lots of other celebrities who had hardly ever dealt with designing but wanted to do something useful for people who suffer.
The houses that we got in the result were pretty little things – colorful and spirited – which might go under a Christmas tree.

Vera Wang’s house was the most delicate and exquisite. The designer decorated it with lace, crystals, and flowers. Very nice to look at!

Isaac Mizrahi made the cutest house. He used a lot of pink and sparkle.

Oscar de la Renta’s house is simple but sophisiticated just like his clothes – nothing looks out of place.

I definitely love Oscar de la Renta! Perfect, perfect, perfect!!! What a fabulous collection for Spring/Summer 2010!
Beautiful colors combined with chic classy designs make the garments created by the designer look more than impressive.
Oscar de la Renta decided the recession idea was no longer interesting and turned his collection into a mixture of sun, fun and elegance.

Bright orange, electric blue, rich gold, pure white, fresh green, eccentric purple, luxury brown and jet black – this is still an incomplete list of hues the designer has chosen for his creations.

There are long gowns for evening wear and short nice cocktail dresses, classic frocks appropriate for officewear and romantic outfits for dates and walks with friends. Everyone will find something for herself.

Accessory line is really interesting.
There is a variety of hats including summer casual variants and a few chic classic versions good for special occasions.

Besides, lacy kerchiefs come in a diversity of shapes, most are black. I can’t say they look great because they bring some kind of negativity and look a bit gloomy.
But white kerchief looks amazing!

Oscar de la Renta is a designer whose works you can never get bored of. He is a fashion ‘superstar’ and is reported to be awarded with the Superstar Award at The Fashion Group International’s 26th annual Night of Stars.
His contribution to the fashion industry is huge and this is what he will be honored for. Beside the award Oscar de la Renta will receive a prize at a star-studded gala at New York’s Cipriani restaurant on October 22.

Margaret Hayes, president of The Fashion Group International, said:
Oscar personifies the word ’superstar’. While this award honours his lifetime achievements, it is also in recognition of the vitality and creativity clearly apparent in his current collections.”
The ceremony named ‘The Storytellers’ will be hosted by Barney’s window-dresser Simon Doonan.
Of course this is not the first Oscar’s awards. He has been honored with a CFDA Lifetime Achievement Award and the American Fashion Critic’s Award twice and also was inducted into the Fame in 1973.
He serves as a board member of the Metropolitan Opera, New York Opera House, Carnegie Hall, and WNET.
He also collaborates with several charitable organizations including the America’s Society and New Yorkers for Children.
He is the chairman of the Queen Sofia Spanish Institute as well.
Oscar de la Renta is known and respected all over the world. His designs are popular with such celebrities as Sarah Jessica Parker, Hilary Clinton and Laura Bush.

Why I single out the necklace from other jewelry trends? Because it’s so multifaceted.
Statement jewelry is back in the game.

Stones, metals, beads, massive chains and crystals are of great value for Autumn/Winter 2009-2010.
Super massive and extravagant necklaces were in John Galliano, Marc Jacobs, Thakoon and Lanvin collection.

Plenty of metals and geometrical shapes were presented in their jewelry lines. John Galliano’s Fall 2009 collection was inspired by the Tsar Russian mood.
The pendants are round and very heavy.

The more collections I see the more I am impressed by designers’ creativity and talent. Oscar de la Renta’s collection is really gorgeous!

Plenty of bright colors, chic designs, unusual styles, rich fabrics… Everything is just wonderful!

The line includes many beautiful cocktail dresses, long evening gowns and even luxurious ballgowns. Besides, there are lots of usual ready-to-wear clothes, perfect for everyday wear to work or out.
I’d like to start from clothes which are intended for ordinary wearing.
