While we did expect Emilio Pucci’s signature military-sharp blazers the brand’s designer Peter Dundas flooded the runway with airy gypsy dresses. Those dresses were so amazing and sexy that we immediately forgot about everything that had seemed significant before the show. We dipped into the boudoir fashion, the new world of Pucci.
Dundas revived the boudoir fashion which was unfairly forgotten by both fashionistas and designers. But it was not the fashion we saw back in Fall 2010. The new approach was more demure but truly womanly.

Emilio Pucci Spring/ Summer 2012 collection unveiled during Milan Fashion Week abounded with flowing sheer fabrics, seductive lace and summery prints. Floor-sweeping skirts, cropped tops often in shape of a bra, chic cocktail dresses and summer suits were all made with huge attention to details and looked mesmerizing.

Accessories didn’t come in plenty as outfits could say all for themselves. However, we have to mention the unique way Dundas used scarves to finish his looks for Emilio Pucci. He didn’t only tie those around models’ waists to make accents, he also put those around girls’ elbows to bring attention to these parts of a woman’s body.

Red was a really hot color at 2011 Emmy Awards. And it was Nina Dobrev who wore it best. The Vampire Diaries star opted for a luxurious Donna Karan gown from Resort 2012 collection.

Lea Michele also sported a red dress. Her perfect choice is Marchesa. Those rosettes on sleeves look so feminine!

Kate Winslet’s Elie Saab floor-length gown is simpler in designer than the two previous designer creations but it looked no less glamorous.

Kerry Washington‘s dress by Zuhair Murad was the reddest of all red dresses at the 2011 Emmy Awards. It looked like it was burning!

Sofia Vergara decided to go for a softer hue and chose caramel pink to wear at the glam event. The actress looked fantastic in her asymmetrical attire.

Pastel tones were also popular at the 2011 Emmys. Heidi Klum’s Christian Siriano dress turned heads at the ceremony. The supermodel looked stunning in it as she posed with her husband – Seal.

Christina Hendricks arrived at the 2011 Emmys in a shining Johanna Johnson dress.

Jayma Mays’ gown was the most feminine and cute on the red carpet.

Mad Men’s Elisabeth Moss appeared at the 2011 Emmy Awards in a sumptuous Marchesa dress which she accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and Christian Louboutin shoes.

Zooey Deschanel was one of the presenters at the 2011 Emmys. The actress wore Monique Lhuillier’s orchid silk faille gown from the Resort 2012 collection.

Gwyneth Paltrow, who is usually wise at choosing red carpet dresses, for the 2011 Emmy Awards mae a slight fashion faux pas by wearing a see-through number by Pucci.

Kelly Osbourne looked wonderful in a J. Mendel full gown. But something was definitely wrong with her hair color.

Katie Holmes opted for elegance at the 2011 Emmys. The Kennedies star arrived at the ceremony in an blue Calvin Klein dress.

Olivia Munn’s emerald green gown looked beautiful.

Halle Berry looked stunning on the red carpet at the 42nd NAACP Image Awards held at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The actress wore an unusual Pucci dress accessorized with a pair of loop Bavna earrings. Love the look!

Among the best-dressed female celebrities who attended the Robin Hood premiere was gorgeous Kate Beckinsale who opted for a blue draped tulle gown with a ruffle skirt and embroidered detail by Marchesa. The actress looked wonderful!

Cate Blanchett went for the late Lee Alexander McQueen gown, which the designer had personally selected for the Aussier star. The dress features a silver eagle in flight.

Eva Longoria showed off in a while silk Pucci chiffon ball gown that had a long and glamorous train. the dress looked perfect but it definitely made Eva look smaller than she really is.

Salma Hayek went for a brighter look and arrived at the event wearing the very first couture gown from Gucci Première collection, a floor-sweeping Bordeaux silk georgette assymetrical gown.

Aishwarya Rai looked like a princess in at the premiere in her violet blue fully embroidered tulle and mousseline gown created by Elie Saab.

I liked two more dresses. They were worn by Oscar winning actress Dame Helen Mirren – a classic black dress – and an Australian singer-and-actress Natalie Imbruglia, who donned Alberta Ferretti gown.

Kristen Stewart was one of those who attended this event. The actress wore a Pucci Origami Strapless Wool Dress that looked good on her. Kristen felt happy at the ceremony as she was named the Woman of the Year.

Naomi Campbell looked fantastic in Alexander McQueen’s dress and a pair of perfect black heels. The supermodel received the Outstanding Contribution award for all her charity job.

Leona Lewis looked classy in a black frock complimented with a black hat, lace fingerless gloves and beige shoes. The attire was gorgeous but it seems to me Leona looks older in it.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen looked beautiful and trendy in their outfits probably created by themselves.

Carey Mulligan didn’t sport a dress on the red carpet but appeared wearing a black pencil skirt and a blue blouse with a black belt.

Sisters Kylie and Dannii Minogue were together at the party. Kylie looked fabulous in her strapless LBD. Dannii rocked a yellow one-shoulder gown that covered her baby bump beautifully.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley opted for a red sexy frock that flattered her figure a lot.

Donna Ari went for a chic sparkling black dress, a yellow clutch and a pair of silver shoes.

Sophie Ellis Bextor looked stunning in her navy Grecial-style dress.

The women that didn’t impress me with their fashion choices for the evening were Daisy Lowe who looked horrible in her Miu Miu dress with cut-outs, Claudia Schiffer in her shapeless total black dress and Nicola Roberts who chose a bright pink outfit that was too short.

I’ll begin with Kristen Stewart. She wasn’t the best-dressed and her look seemed unfinished but she is the star of Twilight, the saga I liked so much, so she is the first on my list. Kristen looked good in short white strapless Chanel dress and a pair of matching heels. I do think she looks better in jeans.

Kate Winslet couldn’t miss this exciting event and appeared on the red carpet looking elegant and classy. I liked her black dress with lacy insets very much!

Vera Farmiga looked brilliant in a white assymetrical Marchesa gown. The dress was so cute that Vera was an absolute stand out for me!

Another Twightlight and New Moon star Anna Kendrick wore a yellow Pucci dress to the party and looked lovely! The embroidery in front was beautiful.

Joely Richardson who arrived to support her mother showed off her beauty in a blue satin Katherine Walker gown with silver shoulder details. She matched her dress with a pair of black shoes and a pretty little clutch.

Claire Danes opted for a silver frock that looked a bit too elaborate in design. Jewelry pieces she wore to match the dress added glamour to her look.

Carey Mulligan dazzled in a flower-prited dress that revealed her shoulders. A pair of black sandals completed the attire.

Anne Marie Duff blended with the red carpet wearing a scarlet dress by Alberta Ferretti that covered her baby bump beautifully.

Kristin Scott Thomas went a simplier path and chose a black classy beaded dress by Louis Vuitton she looked fabulous in. As it was rather cold she took a fur boa to cover herself.

Audrey Tautou looked so much pretty in her pink frock by Lanvin.

Meredith Ostrom wore a black one-shoulder dress that looked ageing on her though was sumptuous.

Jamie Winston went for Marylin Monroe look in Alexander McQueen’s creation.

While some were burning with anticipation of who was to win, others, including me, were looking forward to seeing fashion choices of the evening. And, sincerely speaking, we were not disappointed!

Lots of beautifully dressed ladies arrived to the event and sashayed on the red carpet showing off themselves.

The outfit I liked the most was worn by eccentric Lady GaGa. Custom-made Giorgio Armani Prive gown looked fabulous! I really mean it. I loved the dress! Of course it was far from ordinary but the color was nice and the design wasn’t aggressive. Rather it brought some unexpected femininity to GaGa’a look, something that she usually misses. The shoes were shocking though. They looked great but were hardly safe to wear.

Jennifer Lopez looked stunning in an unusual silver-white gown, white peep-toe shoes and absolutely sumptuous bracelets!

Lea Michele glammed up the red carpet sporting a sexy black one-shoulder dress with a feathered hemline and matching black heels.

Next comes gorgeous Marisa Miller in a snowy white vintage Gucci mini-dress and black Yves Saint Laurent pumps. The supermodel looked perfect! I’ve got one question though, why does she always choose short white dresses for red carpet events?

Mary J. Blige looked brilliant in a silk crepe fuschia Gucci gown with cut out detail. The black rubberized crocodile envelope clutch from the same brand complemented the attire.

17-year-old Party in the USA star strutted the carpet in Herve Leger short frock and Balenciaga shoes, accessorised with Judith Leiber bag and jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz and Ofira Schwartz.

Rihanna dazzled everyone with her floor-sweeping feathered gown. Looked great!

Nicole Kidman went classic in her long black satin dress with a beautiful neck detail.

Katy Perry opted for a flowered Zac Posen’s dress which left the singer’s back exposed. A bright red clutch was the wrong choice obviously.

Heidi Klum looked lovely and womanly in a short sparkling dress with a low neck. Her butterfly ring was fantastic!

The Black Eyed Peas frontwoman wore a pretty blue one-shoulder Pucci dress, Le Silla shoes, and a Judith Leiber clutch.

Carrie Underwood rocked a chic white dress that flattered her complexion a lot.

Beyonce looked superb in a hip-hugging Stephane Rolland dress and Casadei shoes. Lorraine Schwartz jewels added glamour to her look.

These evening clutches are some of my favourite pieces from my new spring/summer 2009 accessories collection,” Williamson tells vogue.com about his rectangular and oval designs, which come in either a red wine or flesh tints.

We’ve heard nothing about Matthew Williamson for nearly two years. And his chic designs are set to make a comeback on the rails of high street department store Debenhams next year as part of its designer womenswear collection.

Financial Mail reports that Williamson, who kept on working with the store designing accessories and lingerie, will once again join the likes of Antoni & Alison, Julien Macdonald and Jasper Conran, who all produce diffusion ranges with Debenhams at present time.

Next year we’ll witness the opening of a new store in New York that signifies about a completely new phase in the designer’s  creative work.

2009 is going to be a busy year for Matthew Williamson, who in the past has collaborated with Monsoon and worked as the artistic director of Pucci.

Celebrity support remains key to the business and clients include: Madonna, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Moss, Britney Spears, Kate Hudson and Helena Christensen.

His S/S 2009 collection was presented on New York Fashion Week in September.

IT was really about looking back at last spring/summer,” Matthew Williamson said backstage after his show in Bryant Park, complete with front row devotees Petra Nemcova, Daisy Lowe and Kelley Osbourne.

“Looking at that collection and thinking, it is very girl on a vacation. So this season I wanted to explore the same idea but give it a sense of ‘what if she doesn’t have a vacation to go on?’ – hence the structure and the tailoring. So it was a little bit more of an overall wardrobe.”

The style of collection was:

Pants like cigarette a few inches above the ankle were exposed in bright yellow, with two shown front-zipper pockets, and mixed with a matching blazer in a thinly lined black acid kaleidoscope pattent.

Another perfectly framed skinny pant viewed in a bright fruit pierce red satin, pleated down the front with a folded in white tank, and then layered with a vest. It was in an ultra-bright pink satin with stiff front folds and wide shoulders.

Williamson’s show was even more fab as it progressed into a combo of his signature prints, exotic and ethnic detailing, for example, the floral fancywork and glass beads and sequins outlining a square neckline.

The colour moving brocades that the designer’s known for were presented on the catwalk as well.

Shoes are contemporary jewelry, designer Donatella Versace once said, and in recent years they have become an integral part of a designer’s fashion statement.

While Salvatore Ferragamo invented the wedge, it was Dolce & Gabbana that did the most with the form this season. But Fendi, Marni, Moschino and Frankie Morello were nipping at their heels.

Оne season Armani refined the running shoe by pairing it with chiffon evening outfit.

In the 1990s the stiletto became a symbol for spicy chic. More recently, antebellum platforms and wedges thought to have been relegated to the back of grandmather’s recess became super hot again, especially with teens. The heels have become more higher with each season, and the inches are evidently taking their toll.

Catwalks models at this week’s preview shows in Milan stumbled, slipped and in the case of one model wearing ankle-strapped high-heels at Prada — toppled over.

I was having a panic attack, my hands were shaking. The heels were so high,” one of the models said. “Some of the girls were crying backstage they were so scared.”

Prada

Prada’s spring/summer collection 2009, shown at Milan Fashion Week, was thus a high-tech take on “cave-woman couture”, expressed in snake-print sheath-dresses, fish-prints and burnished gold brassieres with matching pencil skirts and jackets. The real culprit were the super high platform shoes.

It was all about the shoes, and not in a nice way. The mile-high platform shoes strapped on over what appeared to be Prada’s take on Peds might have been impressive, had half of the girls not had major trouble walking and thus shown totally petrified.

According to the Daily Mail, the problem was slippery socks, which caused Prada’s runway models to lose grip.

I wrote about Gucci collection in “Blue fantasy Spring-Summer 2009 by Gucci”. It was all in the accessories, where Gucci really thrives, with triple-strap platform sandals, ethnic jewellery, and swag backpacks.

Pucci

The Pucci silk prints were gripping, tending for daytime to be in one-colour or featuring abstract palm leaf prints.

For evening, Pucci made prints out of a innumerable of stitched-together crystal beads on a gold background.

Gold also made up the high-heel of Pucci’s summer shoes. But seemingly extra height makes the footwear as perfidious as it is gorgeous.

Dolce & Gabbana

Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce duo accessorized their sumptuous silk dresses with sparkling and soaring platform sandals.

The super-high platforms were also used for their dreamy ball gowns in tulle and embellished roses. Dolce vindicated the towering look, saying that every girl has the right to dream.

Fendi

The Fendi runway show featured models wearing wild pinned-up hairstyles and futuristic lace outfits girthed at the waist by a wide sash.

The look may have been unusual, but the universal effect was still the elegant and easygoing look preferred by Italian designers for the summer 2009.

The shoes at Fendi were strangely windless, though, particularly for the house that made metal ankle straps a fashion fetish.

The high heels were never high, and favored was an open-toed saddle shoe fitted with a convenient wedge.
