Every glam event is a chance to show off oneself and often our stars use this rare opportunity to attract attention. The Oscar ceremony is one of the most expected, not only because we all want to know which films are considered the best but also to see what most glamorous women wear to it.
It is a common fact that to stand out at the Oscars is always a very difficult thing. But some women know very well how to do it. And one of these is definitely Jennifer Lopez. The singer appeared on the red carpet wearing a sumptuous strapless gown by Armani Prive.

By the way, Armani creations were extremely popular. Amanda Seyfried also wore a dress by this designer and looked absolutely gorgeous.

Vera Farmiga chose a more colorful dress from Marchesa, a real red-carpet label. The actress looked perfect.

Anna Kendrick was the embodiment of youth and chic as she wore a gorgeous Elie Saab gown to the event.

Sandra Bullock, who was named the Best Actress, sported a fabulous Marchesa frock. She opted for a silver clutch to match her outfit.

This campaign is one of the most horrible I’ve ever seen. First it shows gorgeous Carolyn Murphy and Isabeli Fontana covered in repulsive fake tan. The girls look more than just unnatural…

Second, the whole idea of the campaign is not the right one. It seems that Roberto Cavalli wants to sell laziness and chic boredom, something that very few of us can really afford.

And the third, the outfits are not the best from the Spring-Summer 2010 colletcion. Seems like stylists just closed their eyes and took the first few items from the pile and dressed the models…

This Saturday 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were held in Los angeles, California. And as usual lots of beautiful women attended the event wearing chic dresses.
Red on the red carpet doesn’t look bad. Mariah Carey just proves that with her red assymetrical gown. Her earrings are spectacular!

Christina Hendricks was red hot wearing a magical red one-shoulder dress with golden earrings and bracelets.

Carey Mulligan rocked a sumptuous red frock with a beautiful flower brooch on the waist.

Blue color was especially popular that day. Lots of beautiful women chose blue dresses to sparkle on the red carpet. Tina Fey was one of those and she looked very charminig! Her dress was Ferragamo’s creation and looked perfect.

Elizabetta Canalis, who is currently dating George Clooney, had a chance to star in Roberto Cavalli’s new advertising campaign. She felt it was a huge privilege to work with one of the best designers in fashion industry.

The Italian model revealed she felt very pleased and praised the designer for his continual standards of “excellence”.
She said:
It was a great pleasure and huge privilege to work for Roberto and Eva Cavalli. The Cavalli brand has always been synonymous with the made in Italy excellence and known all over the world.”
But it was not only Elisabetta who enjoyed the work. Roberto said he always knew the brunette model would be”perfect” for the new underwear line.

He commented:
Elizabetta Canalis and I have been friends for a while now, we have already worked together in the past and so I was sure she was just perfect for enhancing the spirit of this advertising campaign and I was not wrong! Her Mediterranean beauty and intense appeal interpret an intriguing super-feminine woman – the result is amazing!”
The ad features the 31-year-old beauty posing gracefully in a delicate animal print bra and knickers, teamed with high heels, and a silk robe covered in flowers. The woman looks gorgeous and sexy in the dim light of the fireplace.

Roberto Cavalli believes designers cannot create bad or vulgar dresses. Dresses can look unflattering because they are worn in the wrong way.

He said:
I think there’s no such thing as vulgar dresses, just a vulgar way of wearing them.”
Cavalli who likes dressing women admits he doesn’t feel right revealing too much flesh.
He told Britain’s Hello! magazine:
I adore a woman’s body, but prefer it when it’s not shown off in an excessive way, but intuitively and carefully.”
The designer thinks a dress can “change a woman’s life”. This makes it important to find gowns that are intriguing and sensual.
The renowned Italian couturier is famous for his love of animal prints and bright jewelled colours. But his collection for Spring-Summer 2010 is more “minimalist”.
He commented:
Over the last season, I wanted clean lines and proportions to experiment with the Cavalli style by applying more minimalist concepts, but to keep the feminine, sensual and elegant feel that’s always characterised by my fashion. I’ve looked for a more subtle sensuality, something whispered not shouted, a new vision of romanticism, bucolic, poetic. A kind of hymn to a more simple life.”

Roberto Cavalli followed in the footsteps of Karl Lagerfeld and started photographing. But his pictures are far from fashion world. They are all about nature and simple life.

The fashion designer has recently returned from a trip to Africa and now wants to showcase his creations.
He said:
My dream in the near future is to create a big exhibition that would showcase my work from Africa and other exotic places. I love shooting primitive and simple things. I used to shoot subject for my prints and my passion has evolved a bit.”
This new passion Cavalli has developed being inspired by a world-famous snapper who approved his photographs.
He told ‘The Martha Stewart Show‘:
I actually showed my photos to a big photographer, whom I would like to keep private for now, and he was very impressed. He said, ‘They’re fantastic, you should really make more.’ From that moment I was very encouraged.’
However, the designer knows he doesn’t have all those skills to call himself a real photographer and needs a lot to learn first.
But I’m not a photographer, per se, so I have quite a way to go with my technique!”

Roberto Cavalli doesn’t feel the current recession has affected him. He even says it encouraged us all “love each other” to be able to get through hard times.

He said:
I never pay attention to costs – it’s not attractive to speak about numbers. Why can’t we just focus on the beauty of an object?
I don’t know anything about the financial crisis. We’ll make a recovery by everyone loving their life, each other, and being positive.”
Roberto has started his own new made-to-measure service that will produce only 35 pieces a year. The service is based in an atelier above the Rue Saint-Honore store in Paris and is intended for making bespoke cocktail dresses, wedding gowns and eveningwear. It isn’t cheap though. The prices begin from at 35,000 Euro.
Roberto’s wife Eva said:
Clients who want a special outfit from Cavalli now will know that they can obtain it.”
The respected designer told he doesn’t mind his friend Victoria Beckham working for rival fashion house Armani because they can pay her more than he.
Victoria Beckham is lovely. I’m not bothered that she works with Georgio Armani – the difference is that she’s a friend to me, not a model. But I don’t blame her – Armani pays a lot of money.”
