Sarah Jessica Parker is one of those actresses I admire. She’s charming, stylish, smart and hardworking. She appears on magazine covers more often than other celebrities (maybe Kim Kardashian is the only one who can beat her) and always looks flawless. We know that she is always photoshopped and her wrinkles are much more obvious than on those impeccable photos but we are ready to accept that because when it comes to Sarah it’s her personality that really goes through. Sarah Jessica Parker on being famous: “I never wanted to be a celebrity; I never wanted to be famous. And in my daily life, I work really hard to not trade on it in any way. I am so worried about anybody saying, ‘She’s cut in line’ or ‘She took our table’ or ‘She got out of jury duty’. The comments that are counter to who I am and the way I live are the ones that bother me. It’s not like it’s hard to be decent and respectful and well-behaved. I do wait in line, and I do take the subway, and I do take the kids to school. Sarah Jessica Parker on not taking things for granted: “We didn’t have a lot when I was growing up, and it’s the best thing that happened to me because I appreciate everything. I have a strong work ethic and don’t take anything for granted.”

Christina Hendricks, who never loses a chance to show off her curves, looked wonderful in a pink satin dress by Vivienne Westwood. She finished her look with a pair of nude pumps, jewel-encrusted clutch and chic earrings and bracelet.

Sarah Jessica Parker dressed much more demurely for I Don’t Know How She Does It premiere but she looked very elegant and stylish. Her choice for the evening was a floor-length maxi dress.

Olivia Munn also looked beautiful. She opted for a strapless prom-style red dress and nude sandals.

Emma Roberts and Jessica Szohr were among the attendees, too. Emma wore a scarlet maxi dress and a long necklace to I Don’t Know How She Does It premiere.

And Jessica went for a sumptuous golden mini. The Gossip Girl star looked almost unrecognizable with a straight, blunt hair style.

Sarah Jessica Parker, who graces the cover of the Age issue of Vogue US August 2011, has mentioned in the interview for the magazine that her collaboration with Halston has come to an end.

Vogue said:

When Sex and the City, to her own surprise, made her a fashion star, she launched her own design label and perfumes, as well as signing on to run the Halston Heritage label, a relationship that recently came to an end.”

I don’t know what has caused such a change (I really tried to find ANY details!) but in April news broke that Halston was nearly bankrupt and was seeking financing. Probably this or Sarah Jessica Parker’s lack of designing experience has lead to it, but I feel really frustrated. I liked how she transformed the Halston’s vision of a modern woman.

Family life takes a lot of time and Sarah considers it right to do ‘strategic planning’ to be able to realize what’s important and what’s not. She comments:

The internal lists, the children’s doctor’s appointments, the letters to write, the school projects. . . . What you have to do and how to get the kids from A to B, and whatever is required of you at your work. And maybe you can toss in friendships that need to be attended to. . . . The thing that’s most surprising to me is how much we do in a day.”

Although Sarah Jessica Parker has three nannies to help her with the kids she tells Vogue August 2011 that she and her husband Matthew Broderick are ‘pretty hands-on parents’:

We don’t have any live-in help. We’re pretty hands-on parents. That’s something that’s important to both of us, and we don’t shirk it, because what’s the point in having a family if you’re not going to really participate in it, you know?”

Being often compared and even taken for her character Carrie Bradshaw Sarah Jessica Parker says she is not like her at all:

Bradshaw’s life is nothing—nothing—like mine. I loved playing her, and it changed my life in lots of wonderful ways, but I’m not a crazy shoe lady, I don’t think about fashion all day long, although I have a great respect for the industry.”

Paparazzi seem to be the worst part of a celebrity life. Everything you do becomes known to everyone. Sarah Jessica Parker isn’t new to it and this is what she told Vogue US August 2011:

You do start to understand the behind-the-gate mentality, the getting in the car in your driveway but I can’t imagine living in seclusion. We flirted with it. We went outside the city and troubled all these Realtors and stood in these homes and fantasized, and then I kept picturing nine o’clock at night and… The beautiful thing about New York is, you have to expose yourself to other people the minute you step outside the door. There is no choice. And I love that.”

Sarah also reveals she has ‘fatal flaws’:

It’s kind of all I’ve known. I’m a bitter-ender. It’s potentially my fatal flaw that I do not give up on something. I will not rest. I work and work and work until I can no longer and someone has to remove me from the premises.”

Sarah Jessica Parker told MTV News:

In the interview for Elle January 2011 Sarah Jessica Parker reveals about how seriously she takes the role in Halston, tells about how she ages gracefully, and how her twins changed her life to the better.

On aging naturally: “I don’t know what I can do about the aging. Yes, I am aging. Oh my God, I’m aging all the time. It’s like those flowers that wilt in front of you in time-lapse films. But what can I possibly do? Look like a lunatic?”

On her reaction to being offered the position of President and Chief Creative Officer at Halston: “I kept saying, ‘You understand, by offering this you are going to be criticized?’ It took me a long time to say yes.”

On taking her role at Halston very seriously: “I said, ‘Please know this now: I will never do this for a title. I will never dip in and out of this. I’ll do it like everything else I’ve ever done. I’ll be involved down to the splitting of the atom.’”

On meeting the twins after their birth: “[Meeting them] is hard to describe. Everything is suspended. I can’t even tell you what other sounds were in the room. I loved them immediately, but everything–their size, the shape of their heads, the color of their hair, their noses, their eyes–was new to me. They looked surprisingly different from James Wilkie, which I wasn’t expecting.”

The fact that surprised me a lot was that Kate Moss was considered the Best-Dressed Woman Of The Decade. I don’t really think she dresses well. She often looks scruffy and untidy. However, I can’t but admit that her style has been very influential. Her collections for Topshop flew off shelves and people tried to copy Kate’s style as much as they could.

Vogue style director Alexandra Kotur said:

At every moment Kate Moss has looked chic and cool. No one has had more influence for the past decade on the way women have dressed than Kate Moss.”

What I do agree with is that Lady Gaga is The Visionary. (Check out Lady Gaga’s Profile) Her bizarre outfits have become the inspiration for millions of girls.

Ms Kotur said of Lady Gaga’s style:

Lady Gaga speaks for herself – talk about being an individual. She’s that in a heightened sense. She doesn’t step out the door unless she’s in a whole look that’s very well thought out and has a purpose. When she met The Queen she wore an outfit that referred back to Elizabeth I. There’s thought that’s put into everything. She really, truly is the individual.”

The First Lady Michele Obama has also been included into Vogue Magazine’s Best-Dressed List. She was named the most independent because there is ‘no better example of fashion democracy’.

Ms Kotur commented:

What she has done is so wonderful in that there’s a spotlight on her and she’s opened up the vocabulary. She mixes high and low, she mixes J Crew with Gaultier. It’s that pairing of something not so expensive with something that’s a little higher end that’s worth celebrating.”

Speaking about the parameters that were taken into account while selecting women to compile the Best-Dressed List Ms Kotur said:

We chose people who were thinking out of the box, women who look as if they’re wearing what they really wanted to wear. The whole Vogue editorial team and fashion staff brainstormed to come up with the list. Our parameters were to highlight from the year, and the overarching theme that we observed was to recognize an emphasis on the individual.”
