Celebrating most powerful and beautiful ladies all around the globe, the celebrity turned up for the Glamour Magazine Honors the 2008 Women of the Year event at Carnegie Hall in New York City on Monday night. The main sponsor of the ceremony was L’Oreal Paris.
Glamour magazine declares its annual Women of the Year homage with 10 special and inspirational winners who have made considerable contribution to the world of entertainment, business, sports, fashion, science, and politics.
Nicole Kidman has received Glamour Magazine Honors the 2008 Women of the Year.
Oscar-winning actress is using her star power as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNIFEM, the United Nations Development Fund for Women, where she is dedicated to raising awareness about violence against women, a human rights issue that affects as many as one in three women and girls worldwide.
The 41-year-old Aussie actress dressed in a white floor-grazing gownwith silver embroidery. She was so perfect.
Other winners of at 2008 year’s ceremony were Hillary Clinton and Jane Goodall, supermodel Tyra Banks, athletes Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh, artist Kara Walker, human rights Nujood Ali and Shada Nasser and Chanel CEO Maureen Chiquet.
Condoleezza Rice was named one of the Glamour magazine’s “Women of the Year” Monday night.
Condoleezza Rice — As U.S. Secretary of State, Rice has championed the rights and health of women around the world, and put women’s issues on the front burner of U.S. foreign policy. In 2008 she announced The One Woman Initiative, a $100 million effort to empower women in Muslim countries.
