It always happens this way. When a person dies we want to keep a piece from him to remind us about the times when he was with us. Michael Jackson’s story is just an example of what I’m talking about.
Alexander McQueen was a notable personality in the fashion world. And now when the news about his tragic death spread all over the world people are chasing after his creations to be able to kep a memory of him and his art.

The most popular item is an iconic skull-print scarf. It has been “flying off the shelves” since the first information about the designer’s suicide broke the day before yesterday (11.02.10). The scarf is a silk piece that costs £200 and has been worn by such stars as Kate Moss, Liv Tyler and Nicole Richie.
Kate Brindley, head of press at the London department store Liberty, said:
The response was immediate. At about 4pm, just after the news broke, all of our Alexander McQueen stock started flying off the shelves. The scarf was such an iconic piece of his design.”
The second item in popularity is the black shoulder-pad T-shirt from the summer collection.
Anne Pitcher, buying and merchandising director at Selfridges, added:
We fully expect customers to want to buy something by him – anything – to keep as a memento, but also as a genuine tribute to his craft and spirit.”

Scarves as well as kerchiefs and shawls are indespensable accessories for every woman. They create special look and make people pay attention to the wearer.
One can tie a scarf around her neck to stay warm, to enliven a dull oufit or make the look more exquisite.

Scarves have been with us for not years or decades but centuries.
Sophisticated Louis Vuitton scarf is a thing every fashion-conscious person wants to own, while a Hermes kerchief is the best ever piece for a female fashionista.

Scarves no longer serve as items protecting us from cold or wind, they have become versatile and fashionable accessories.
This season designers offer us to wear long and wide warm scarves. These can be of a simple design, adorned with pom-poms, etc. Besides, one can wear more than one scarf and look perfect!

Such scarves were presented in many designer collections, for instance: Missoni, Dsquared2, Topshop Unique, Aquascutum, Mulberry, Diane von Furstenberg, Diesel Black Gold, Twenty&Twelve, etc.

As you can see, scarves can easily be worn instead of hats. If you like the idea go for it immediately as soon it is going to be really chilly.

Do you like Hermes scarves? Oh, I do. That’s why this limited-edition collection by Hermes is something I’ll be searching in stores soon.

The luxury brand Hermes and British Liberty have teamed up to produce a line of scarves and ties that combines Liberty’s Tana Lawn classic flower print and the Hermès ex Libris logo.

Scarves come in 6 color variations and look very interesting. These will be available alongside the Fall/Winter 2009-2010 collection, from September 7 to October 18.
