Many respected designers have had fun artistically playing with Woodstock style for decades.
Now young designers were given a chance to try themselves and show us their vision of the Nineties grunge and the era’s fringe, flowers, beads and bell bottoms.

The sketches that came out as a result were absolutely different proving once again that everyone sees and feels the time in his own way.
See and enjoy the pictures!

Rebecca Taylor has beautiful sketches for her new collection that will be presented at New York Fashion week September 5 2008. It lets us know that Boho will be the buzz word for her Spring 2009 collection! It’s enough anticipation to make a fashionista jump out of her stilettos!

These sketches are from Lake Hopatcong native Dennis Basso and Tadashi.
My big inspiration was the ’70s…I used a lot of flowy fabrics, muted prints, georgettes, tie dye influence – a sophisticated version of the Boho look.” – Dennis Basso

I was struck by the beauty and light of Jean Nouvel’s design for the new Louvre museum in Adu Dhabi. The interplay of modern architecture with geometric shapes creates streams of light that to me, resonate with purity and create an ethereal effect. these intricate shapes are signature elements in my collection. A white soft color palette, feminine shapes, layering and subtle use of tulle embody this theme” – Tadashi Shoji

I really want to see these designs on the catwalk.

New York’s Fashion Week will present its Spring 2009 collections starting next Friday. To keep you thrilled and excited here are some sketches from Marc Bouwer, Rubin Singer and Maticevski collections.

Marc Bouwer’s collection “Goddesses by a Pool” was inspired by powerful femininity of 1970s. This will be an elegant retro but futuristic collection in bright, poppy colors.

Rubin Singer will present “Anchors Awei.” His spring looks were inspired by exotic destinations, the 1940s, and rugged, angular forms of marine vessels.

My main inspiration for the collection came from a book called, Inventive Paris Clothes 1909-1939′ with photos by Irving Penn and Text by Diana Vreeland…,” explains Maticevski. “Restrained opulence – rich, luxurious, exotic and intoxicating.”
