Miuccia Prada who works for Prada and also creates for Miu Miu company has recently said she is making men’s skirt short for revenge.

She explained:
I’m working on a men’s collection right now and someone at the office worriedly asked me, ‘You’re not going to make short skirts again, are you?’ So I’m now pushing it even further, just for revenge!”
The 60-year-old designer likes inventing things. She prefers to work on unusual fashion styles as these stop her from being bored.
She said:
Menswear should take cues from womenswear, and not just the other way around. Menswear is so limited so I’m free with my ideas. Otherwise I’d die of boredom.”
Miuccia also noted that she hates “cliches” associated with the work of designers.
She said:
I hate the cliche of fashion designers since the beginning. And so because I came from another background – and actually being a feminist at those times, not that I’ve changed so much – I didn’t want to do anything that fashion designers were doing.”
So, men will be soon advised to wear super-shorts skirts. Well, probably this will look interesting on some of them.

Winter is a season when you want and need to look good. Health is above fashion of course but you can look elegant in any weather if you know how to choose and combine clothes. You can be well-dressed and warm at the same time!
Here are 5 tips for you to use when choosing your winter outfits:
Tip 1: Opt for warm clothes for the upper part of your body
To keep warm you need to choose good items to dress your upper part. The main thing is to choose the right fabric and length to avoid fatter look.

Find a top with long sleeves that narrow to wrists. This can be a silky blouse or the one of another flimsy material. Don’t wear tops with wide wrist area even if those are top trendy. Cold wind can go inside and you might catch a severe chest cold.
Don a sweater or a clinging shirt over the blouse. What is important here is that the bottom part of the sweater/shirt shouldn’t be wide either, because you will look fatter. Those women who like wearing cashmere and wool know that properties of the material are what matter not the thickness of it.
Tip 2: Wear sexy but warm lingerie
If your lingerie is all the way covered with the clothes it doesn’t mean you can wear something horrible down there. Don’t sacrifice your femininity to the cold. It’s possible to find sexy but warm underwear.
Tip 3: Keep your feet warm
If you wear trousers don thin tights underneath. The best fabric for winter trousers is wool. And trousers should be tight-fitting.
If you prefer skirts, opt for warmer tights. And of course the longer the skirt the warmer you feel. Forget about skirts which widen to the bottom. Straight design is the best.

No matter what you choose, trousers or a skirt, you should wear a good pair of high boots which can protect your feet and ankles from the cold. Opt for high boots of the same color as your skirt or trousers.

While more and more modern 40-year-old women tend to wear shorter skirts, Kimberly Walsh refuses to do so saying she’s getting old. A bit ridiculous I think…

She said:
I look more to Beyonce Knowles and Jennifer Lopez because they’ve got the smaller waist and bigger bum like I have, so I like to see what looks good on them.”
Although now I’m almost 28 I don’t really go for the little short skirts any more. I prefer things that are figure-hugging but not showing off too much flesh.”
Despite accepting her age negatives Kimberley denies she would go for a plastic surgery when the time comes.
She said:
I’m happy enough being a normal healthy size. And surgery is not an option for me. It’s not like I’ve got any majorly strong views about it, I just wouldn’t dare ever take that kind of risk for vanity.”

Well, I have never thought a moment would come when women at 40 dared to wear short skirts. Bu as it turns out this moment has come.
Probably it is fashion or total enthusiasm about fitness that plays role but we see lots of ladies in their 40s showing pretty much flesh.

Spokesman for UK store Debenhams Ed Watson said:
It shows that women now have an increasing confidence in their bodies and are happy to dress accordingly. If this trend continues, there is no doubt that, within the next decade, women in their mid-40s and early-50s will rightly regard a mini skirt as an essential part of their everyday wardrobe.”
The executives of the chain decided to make some observations relating this topic. About 1000 females were involved. The results are as follows:
Girls aged 14 generally prefer a rather short skirt, but don’t wear them too short until they are 16.
Women between 16 and 19 spend on smaller minis, reducing the length from18ins to 14ins on average.
23 is the age for the tiniest skirts of all, 12.5ins on average.
When women turn 40 they tend to wear 18ins skirts, but at 42 the majority go back to more conservative styles which cover the knees.
By 51, ladies mostly opt for skirts of 32.5ins long.
Interesting, isn’t it? Do you think the length of the skirt and the age should correspond?

And new Glam Event.
2009 BET Awards held on Sunday, June 28, 2009 was fabulous. Lots of celebrities got their awards and spoke about the event itself and Michael Jackson, who was the focus of the attention as everyone wanted to pay tribute for his talents.
Lots of outfits and fashionable looks were seen on the red carpet that day and now we’ll give you a short review of the best-dressed women at the event.
Let’s start from the sexiest ladies. Beyonce and Alicia Keys looked stunning in their super short dresses embellished with beads and sequins. Though the dresses were quite different they do look similar in the sense of hotness.

Tierra Marie looked fantastic in a black mini-dress with a layered bottom and black and silver platforms. Estelle, the British singer, was all puffed up in a pretty jean dress by Acne, which she paired with a white glove – a nod to Michael Jackson.

Enjoy more outfits…

The Cruise 2010 line from Louis Vuitton is created for girls from megalopolis who love to look sassy and catchy and still feel comfortable in clothes they wear.
The collection includes a pretty short lemon bustier dress, a thin-striped dress with flounces, a black cut-out dress with a pleated skirt, an outfit consisting of a little black dress complemented with an orange belt and a dark violet short sleeved cardigan, and others.

The shoes look very feminine with the clear flower motif, as if Louis Vuitton wanted to bring back the floral fashion. High platform sandals go very well with short skirts thus lengthening the girl’s legs (a good choice for those with shorter legs!!!) Leather peep-toe-and-heel booties look impressive.

Bag theme is very limited in the collection but still allows watching the tendency offered by the designers. Bags are made in a boat shape with thick ropes coming as handles and decorated by an immutable LV pattern.

Mini-skirt design that was brought in to the vogue industry 50 years ago by Mary Quant will be imprinted on a stamp shortly.

We’ll be able to see the world wide known Mary Quant’s design issued just by the Royal Mail. Quant’s mini-skirt is one of the 10 designs chosen to represent 20th century classics. Other iconic things include a red telephone box, an underground map and the mini car.

It’s reported also that the model chosen to represent the mini-skirt design on a stamp will be in one of Quant’s favourite fashion outfits, called the ‘Banana Split’, it’s a black, fit-and-flare mini, with a zipper placed from the neck to the navel.
As The Telegraph reported, Quant commented:
In the 60s, we would pull the zip down to the model’s belly-button and paint a daisy (her symbol) on it.”
Mary Quant, who is 74 years old now, will see her outstanding achievements recognised later this month at the V&A’s regular ‘In Conversation With’ event.

Pregnancy is a period when most mothers-to-be stop thinking about fashion.
But why, Ladies? Always keep in mind that a woman should look perfect at any time and any place despite all the circumstances.

A recent survey has proved that women normally base their perception of their body shape on models and Hollywood starlets, rather than on ordinary women. However, those fashion icons and film stars are 15-23 percent lower in weight and 5-6 inches taller than the ‘average’ American woman. As a result we have so many ladies depressed about their so-called ‘body problems’.

If you are the case you have to realize that comparison of your shape with the ones of these superpeople is often against you.
There are a lot of ways to look leaner by dressing correctly. It’s all about playing up your assets and downplaying your problem areas. Any woman can look good and it’s not necessary to spend a lot of money.
