Taking ‘picturesque summertime in a small town in southern Italy circa the 1950’s’ as inspiration Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana did everything to help us almost ‘feel’ the atmosphere of that time. An outdoor market was showcased with the help of the abundance of all kinds of vegetables as prints. You could see zucchinis, tomatoes, hot peppers and other patterns featured on dresses, bra-tops, hotpants, jumpsuits and even jackets. But luckily for us, fans of Dolce&Gabbana luxury, this was just a part of the collection.

The second portion of Dolce&Gabbana Spring/ Summer 2012 looks was much more attractive in terms of elegance and chic. Lace cocktail dresses which followed soon looked lovely and so pleasing to the eye. Girls on the runway turned into beauties again. They looked feminine and so summery.

The last part of Dolce&Gabbana Spring/ Summer 2012 collection comprised fab corsets encrusted with colorful crystals as well as dresses made in the same manner.

Rumors have been circulating since March this year about Dolce&Gabbana planning to close their youthful D&G line. Until yesterday nothing was confirmed. But during Milan Fashion Week before the D&G Spring/ Summer 2012 show started Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana said they would no longer produce the affordable line.

The two designers commented:

For the upcoming seasons, D&G will become part of Dolce&Gabbana, giving even more strength and energy to our collections. To us, it’s like going back to when we began our adventure: full of ideas.”

Of course D&G couldn’t disappear from the fashion horizon without showcasing the last jaw-dropping collection. Their Spring/ Summer 2012 range was bigger and more impressive than ever with each piece made of colorful scarves.

Scarves were beautifully wrapped around models’ bodies, they were used to make skirts, blouses and even panties. Prints were mixed to the extreme as were the colors. Despite the fact it was a real turmoil it looked stylish, like everything from D&G.

Speaking about designs we can say they were fresh and daring, sometimes a bit crazy but in general lovely and sexy. The runway dappled with colorful sunfrocks, maxi and mini dresses as well as pants and bloomers.

Accessories in D&G Spring/Summer 2012 collection were as vibrant. Prints, tassels and tiny sizes of bags made those look cute and interesting. Jewelry was very Dolce&Gabbana – luxurious, elaborated and eye-catching.

A: SG: “We need to have roots and memory, but you need the new – blogging, Twitter and much more as well as the establishment media. It’s two different perspectives.”

DD: “Its like a cuisine – you can find Japanese, Chinese, and Turkish but when you open a new reataurant, it does not kill off the others. They can co-exist.”

The colors are bright and mood-improving: neon orange, lettuce green, lemon yellow, variety of pinks and a bit of black. I would never say this range has been created by D&G for the Fall and Winter. During these months we normally opt for more reserved tones, don’t we? Time to change habits?

Plenty of cute airy dresses, warm tunics, stylish and almost classic jackets (everything about them says you can wear it to the office, but the lining is covered with letters, it is splashed with letters!)))) terrific accessories and very comfy sneakers… Yes, sneakers!!! Sneakers with dresses and all the other garments. Not a single outfit was worn with shoes in D&G Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 collection.

To tell you the truth I’m not a fan of such clothing myself, I prefer to stick to a more elegant style. However, I just can’t help admiring the looks. These garments will be ideal for young girls. Perfect!

Jean Paul Gaultier & Francis Menuge

Jean Paul Gaultier has had one big love in his life – Francis Menuge. The two had spent 15 years together until Francis died of AIDS-related causes. Francis was that very person who convinced Jean Paul to found his own brand. After his lover’s death Gaultier said he wanted to quit fashion or work for a different brand instead of developing his own. But then he realized that Francis would be glad if he continued building his empire. So he did.

Oscar de la Renta has been married twice. His first wife, Françoise de Langlade, was an editor-in-chief of French Vogue. According to rumors now Lagerfeld has an affair with a 21-year-old model Jean-Baptiste Giabiconi who often accompanies him at social events. However, the designer neither confirms or denies the fact. He says his age doesn’t allow him to put his personal life on the display.

Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana (Dolce&Gabbana)

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana decided to start a brand in 1985. But only in 2005 they officially confirmed their relationship outside business. However, in 2005 they broke up as a couple but continued to work together. The reason for separation was Stefano’s unfaithfulness. Now the designers are good friends that spend a lot of time together. Stefano has an official relationship with Dj Serj.

Inspired by a hope chest the designer duo did their best to show us that a girl should be packed with plenty of different things before she steps into the new stage of her life. These include: bedspreads, tablecloths, and curtains – all transformed into Dolce & Gabbana sexy skirtsuits, baby-doll dresses, rompers, a few va-va-voom corsets and other types of sexy wedding-night lingerie.

I must admit I never liked Dolce & Gabbana that much but their Spring/ Summer 2011 range made me reconsider my opinions. I LOVE the collection!!! It’s so feminine and sophisticated. Nearly all the dresses were white and pretty short so that enough of slender legs were seen.

What came as disappointment to me was the leopard print again. I’m really tired of it. Thanks God, there were just a few pieces in this pattern.

The accessory line was gorgeous. Starting from luxury golden-colored jewelry to absolutely lovely shoes – all the range was wonderful.

Dolce & Gabbana Spring/ Summer 2011 fashion show was very touching and the music was chosen quite ideally.

So, since now on, within three years players including John Terry, Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole will be dressed in chic designer three-piece suits created by famous Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. And not only players will wear exclusive outfits but also managers, coaches and other male staff at the club.

Soccer player Daniel Sturridge said:

Dolce & Gabbana are top class designers, everybody knows them world-wide and it’s beneficial for the club that we have a brand on the same level as we are.”

The costumes for players will be blue, teamed with dark blue shirts, and a matching tie. As a bonus they will receive casual clothes including blue denim jeans.

Women won’t be deprived of the opportunity to have Dolce & Gabbana pieces in their wardrobes. They will be given a pair of black high heels and a matching-coloured trench coat.

To add to this, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana will redesign Chelsea’s director’s lounge and the club’s main reception area.

I like Karl Lagerfeld and Donatella Versace the most! Big Bad Wolf is a fantastic copy of Karl Lagerfeld, as stylish and independent. And Donatella looks great as Daisy!

The star is featured washing up, peeling vegetables and eating pasta, which seems a bit strange after so many talks about her diet rules.

The campaign is said to have been inspired by Italian neorealism cinema, something Stefano Gabbana says Madonna knows all about.

The designer also claims that despite the fact Madonna is very aristocratic she is very practical as well, and does a lot about the house herself, including washing dishes.

Certainly…she’s a very practical woman,’ he said.

Besides, Stefano says he had a chance to see the star eating spaghetti, traditional Italian meal.

Madonna likes the collection and clearly sees the connection between it and Italian cinema.

Gabbana said:

She loved the collection. She is passionate and impressively knowledgeable about Italian cinema.’

The pictures are not so provocative as ones shot for Louis Vuitton, and they look nice. Madonna is no longer shown as a woman looking for pleasures, she is rather more domestic and respectable.
