Kate Hudson presents the cover and her photoshoot for InStyle US January 2009. Also she landed British Harper’s Bazaar.

Hudson was interviewed by designer and her close friend Stella McCartney.

Kate Hudson and designer Stella McCartney have been friends since they met backstage at the VH1 Fashion Awards eight years ago.

McCartney talks to Hudson about her new movie with Anne Hathaway and life as a single parent.

On Tuesday Swedish fashion house H&M spokeman said Britain’s Matthew Williamson would design its summer 2009 women’s collection.

The line by Williamson will be launched worlwide on April 23 and a summer range for both men and women will get in stores in mid-May.

Matthew has such a good eye and a way for working with prints that he mixes up in a new way. When he combines these things, you get a very contemporary London look,” H&M creative adviser Margareta van den Bosch said in a statement.

Williamson extended censorious applause with his colorful lines in London in 1997 and his designs are often worn by famous people such as Keira Knightley, Gwyneth Paltrow, Thandie Newton, Mischa Barton.

I love the fact that H&M have created a new phenomenon in fashion through the pioneering concept of collaborating with high-end designers to create one-off limited edition capsule collections. I am thrilled that my creations for H&M will be accessible to and hopefully enjoyed by so many people around the world” Williamson said.

H&M has a long history of cooperation with popular fashion designers.

Previous collaborations were collections by Comme des Garcons-founder Rei Kawakubo, Stella McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld, and others.

Winter is a nice, beautiful season but there are certain things that irritate us about it.

It is of course the temperature and lack of colours. Everything looks so monotonous… grey, faded and drab. White snow looks perfect but sooner or later you get bored of it.

That is why it is so important to choose color palette for your winter clothes.

It should cheer you up, comfort and give positive emotions. Fashion for winter 2009 is rather contradictory in this respect. Black and grey are the hottest trend colours, though one can hardly describe them as optimistic or invigorating.

Here are ten colours that will be popular this winter:

Black

No wonder it is again in fashion. Designers love it and we do either. It seems to be comfortable, practical, noble, and what is even more important - black creates a leaner image of us.

Besides, it goes well with all closing items we have in the wardrobe. Black garments do not usually become old-fashioned; in case they do you can wear them as vintage ones.

Zac Pozen, Sandler, Chanel, Rad Hourani

The peculiarity of fashion for black in this season is that every item of our outfit should be black – headwear, a scarf, a blouse, a skirt or trousers, a coat or a jacket, tights (black opaque tights are a hot winter trend) and of course footwear (shoes or boots).

Accessorize your look with black gloves and a bag of the same colour.

Black and white

This season the combination of black and white takes on special significance. These tints are vastly included into office and business style outfits and evening wear as well.

It looks elegant and is rather practical because you can wear the garments of this colour mix for various occasions accessorizing your looks with various bags and jewellery.

Now Keira Knightley graces in the latest issue of US Glamour magazine November 2008 and she looks pretty beautiful.

Keira Knightley is a true Glamour woman in every feeling of the word. She establishes it by posing for cover in a delightful and sexy Stella McCartney sweater.

In the interview for Glamour she talks about her choice of being an actress and how her parents would have been much happier with her doing anything apart becoming an actress.

My mother is a writer and my dad’s an actor. But, no, they didn’t. I think they would have been happier if I hadn’t done the same thing as them.

I think they would have been over the moon about a career that has certain securities that you certainly don’t get if you’re an actress. Nobody knows whether you’re going to do well or not.

About the Duchess of Devonshire:

She’s spoiled; she can be lonely in a huge group of people, which I find fascinating. She wants as much attention as she can possibly get.

About nudity:

Pretty comfortable. I certainly wouldn’t do it if I wasn’t…. I detest unnecessary nudity and what it says about women in society. I think you see a lot of films where, Oh, yes, the woman gets her tits out again and runs around naked for no reason. And you kind of go, Ugh, do we have to?

Stella McCartney made a mix of sea-inspired pieces and mannish tailoring together for her s/s ‘09 show

Stella McCartney presented her light collection Spring/Summer 2009 at Paris Fashion Week.

The line restored sex request to McCartney’s fashion vocabulary, in a color largely centred upon flesh-tones and soft pastels.

High-voltage jumpsuits, with low-slung lapels, and frisky short-suits, open to the waist, put cleavage high on the agenda.

Cowl-back, loose tunics revealed a parallel show of bare spine and impudent, satin shorts came with a little French Maid’s “apron” in front.

Starfish fancywork on oversized, pineapple, hooded kaftans, cowrie and palm-tree prints and Perspex shell jewelry underlined the summery mood of the clothes.

Stella McCartney also put renovated expressiveness on one of her skills - masculine tailoring - in slouchy blazers, with shoulder-pads, worn with semi transparent, sequined slips, strapless, bow-front mini-dresses and T-shirts and slim trousers.

As the models made their finale entrance they moved into the 1970 Paul McCartney song, “Maybe I’m Amazed” - one of the former Beatles’ favorites, which he dedicated to his late wife, Linda.

It’s quite moving,” Sir Paul said, with tears in his eyes. “The show was beautiful. She’s beautiful.”

Belts are one of the main accessories when you want to add a touch of new color to your one-color outfit or if you’ve shed weight and your wonderful new vintage dress seems too large for you. Generally belts are good for almost any attire you’re wearing.

There’s a wide range of belts to choose from these days. Any color, any form, any texture – wide belts, waist belts, narrow belts, fancy leather belts, bright patent leather belts, embroidered belts – they can help you stress you beautiful shape or hide your problematic areas.

Designers pick these main belt tendencies for this fall and winter 2008-2009.

Folk and Fringes

Folk art has greatly influenced this season’s accessories. Fringes become one of the leading tendencies. Designers took their inspiration in national costumes embedding original ornaments, colors and patterns into this season’s must-have accessory – belts.

One of the most original folk style belts is probably the one in the form of a rope ending in cute fringes, like that presented by Hermes.

Double it!

This trend has been originally presented in men’s collections but soon stepped onto women’s collection catwalks. The trend originates from summer tendency for dual nature and layering that was presented in everything from dresses to accessories.

This fall and winter the number of belts is crucial. Designers stick to use two or three belts – they may be of the same texture and style but can at the same time be totally different and visibly incompatible. But don’t let it lead you astray.

A rhinestone-buckled cincher makes an eclectic match with a earthtoned leather style for one truly unique accessory.

Designers like Peter Som put absolutely different styles together making it something brand new and exclusive. Trussardi sees the dual nature in another way. Due to having a longer belt one can wrap it round the waist and thus create the layer effect. Ferragamo presents triple design of the belt combining different metallic shades of hue.

Thin waist

Femininity and retro style are hugely popular this season meaning that wasp waist is one of the main attractions this autumn and winter. We’re thinking corset belts and wrestler’s belts. So one of the things to be amazed at this fall is how thin your waist can look in these belts.

You can wear these designs over voluminous attire and even outerwear. There is one thing you mustn’t forget – it must be comfortable to breathe, so don’t try too hard to tighten the belt.

Belts with copper decoration remind us of traditional wrestler’s belts, like that seen in Stella McCartney’s collection that’s also decorated with wood and actually looks like made of wood.

Corset belts have been popular since last fall but they’re still top fashion with lots of catwalk shows presenting this style for autumn and winter 2008/09. This time, corset belts have a wider range of materials to be made of. Denim belts, for example, look great with funky teen style.

Givenchy and Jean Paul Gaultier decorate their corsets with Swarovski crystals and faceted stones. Another popular tendency is wearing a corset belt with a narrow belt above it. Such designs were presented at Vivienne Westwood and Max Azria fall/winter 2008/09 catwalk shows.

Leading designers Vivienne Westwood and Stella McCartney could be set to develop new view of Queen’s guards uniforms.

Queen’s guards are an iconic London sight, as familiar to the tourist as Big Ben and Tower Bridge.

The tall black bearskin hats, that are usually worn by the Queen’s Guards, are something of a London landmark but have always caused discussion among animal lovers as one bear has to be killed for each hat made.  Their use began in the wake of the Battle of Waterloo where they became spoils of war taken by the Grenadier Guards when British beat Napoleon’s Imperial Guard - who also wore bearskin. Animal rights campaigners from PETA have long been shoving for an alternate to be used - and now Stella McCartney and Vivienne Westwood could be stepping in to help.

This week PETA are set to contact with officials from the Ministry of Defence to put forward plans for another variant of materials and designs that could be used. Long-time vegetarian Stella McCartney and British fashion faithful Vivienne Westwood are just two of the designers who PETA have on standby to design something new and perfected if the M.O.D. give them the go-ahead.

A Minister of Defence spokesman told the Telegraph in London:

The MoD is not opposed to the use of synthetic materials as an alternative to bearskins, provided such materials meet the requirement for a high quality product that performs adequately in all weather conditions. Regrettably, a suitable alternative continues to prove elusive.” he said.

We can’t wait to see what they will make with the uniforms and hope a Stella-designed faux fur alternative can be found for the Queen’s guards.

The highly anticipated Adidas by Stella McCartney Fall/Winter ‘08 Collection is now available online - stores will not receive shipment till August 15th 2008!

The collection features tons of pieces that are ultra feminine if every way of the word. The newest collection consists of the Wintersports, Tennis, Gym Yoga, Gym Dance, Gym Studio, Running and Golf categories.

New Adidas line has many puffed sleeved jackets, ruffles, paired intricate detailing.

The colorways, however, are simple and mostly neutral allowing the eye to focus on the many details of the clothing.

Stella McCartney’s fashion line for Adidas has a good entry-level price point, and some seriously nice looks. Certainly cute enough to dress outside of the gym.
