Vivienne Westwood, a famous British designer, presented an unusual fashion show on Tuesday in London. It was a great event that included a runway show, a live orchestra playing classical music and a ballet performance.

The show was focused on Westwood’s Gold Label collection called “Chaos Point.” The collection is created to remind people about the impending global ecological crisis.

Westwood wrote a story named ‘Active Resistance Against Propaganda’ that tells about the lady’s views concerning this problem.

The story is about a group of soldiers who discover the miracle of life, while living in a jungle.

NY Mag reports that British unique designer Vivienne Westwood is lining up Pamela Anderson for her next ad campaign. The ads will be shot in a trailer park.

It’s still not known whether it’s a fact or just a rumor has it, but we would really like to see Baywatch hottie Pam Anderson as a spokesperson for Vivienne Westwood’s new ad.

I can’t speak about it yet. But anything I would say would be completely positive” said Westwood.

We believe these women have something in common and Pamela has the right spirit to represent extravagant and always irrepressible and avant-garde Ms. Westwood.

The last time the star and the designer were seen sharing a laugh and a hug and posing for photographers at Westwood’s show at the London Fashion Week in late September.

Winter is a nice, beautiful season but there are certain things that irritate us about it.

Black

No wonder it is again in fashion. Designers love it and we do either. It seems to be comfortable, practical, noble, and what is even more important - black creates a leaner image of us.

Besides, it goes well with all closing items we have in the wardrobe. Black garments do not usually become old-fashioned; in case they do you can wear them as vintage ones.

Zac Pozen, Sandler, Chanel, Rad Hourani

The peculiarity of fashion for black in this season is that every item of our outfit should be black – headwear, a scarf, a blouse, a skirt or trousers, a coat or a jacket, tights (black opaque tights are a hot winter trend) and of course footwear (shoes or boots).

Accessorize your look with black gloves and a bag of the same colour.

Black and white

This season the combination of black and white takes on special significance. These tints are vastly included into office and business style outfits and evening wear as well.

Folk and Fringes

Folk art has greatly influenced this season’s accessories. Fringes become one of the leading tendencies. Designers took their inspiration in national costumes embedding original ornaments, colors and patterns into this season’s must-have accessory – belts.

One of the most original folk style belts is probably the one in the form of a rope ending in cute fringes, like that presented by Hermes.

Double it!

This trend has been originally presented in men’s collections but soon stepped onto women’s collection catwalks. The trend originates from summer tendency for dual nature and layering that was presented in everything from dresses to accessories.

This fall and winter the number of belts is crucial. Designers stick to use two or three belts – they may be of the same texture and style but can at the same time be totally different and visibly incompatible. But don’t let it lead you astray.

A rhinestone-buckled cincher makes an eclectic match with a earthtoned leather style for one truly unique accessory.

Designers like Peter Som put absolutely different styles together making it something brand new and exclusive. Trussardi sees the dual nature in another way. Due to having a longer belt one can wrap it round the waist and thus create the layer effect. Ferragamo presents triple design of the belt combining different metallic shades of hue.

Thin waist

Femininity and retro style are hugely popular this season meaning that wasp waist is one of the main attractions this autumn and winter. We’re thinking corset belts and wrestler’s belts. So one of the things to be amazed at this fall is how thin your waist can look in these belts.

You can wear these designs over voluminous attire and even outerwear. There is one thing you mustn’t forget – it must be comfortable to breathe, so don’t try too hard to tighten the belt.

Belts with copper decoration remind us of traditional wrestler’s belts, like that seen in Stella McCartney’s collection that’s also decorated with wood and actually looks like made of wood.

Corset belts have been popular since last fall but they’re still top fashion with lots of catwalk shows presenting this style for autumn and winter 2008/09. This time, corset belts have a wider range of materials to be made of. Denim belts, for example, look great with funky teen style.

Givenchy and Jean Paul Gaultier decorate their corsets with Swarovski crystals and faceted stones. Another popular tendency is wearing a corset belt with a narrow belt above it. Such designs were presented at Vivienne Westwood and Max Azria fall/winter 2008/09 catwalk shows.

Vivienne Westwood presented her Red label collection. She opened her show at London Fashion Week with a man model wearing “Guantanamo Orange” underpants and a girl carrying a poster protesting for the rights of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay.

Popular models were the daughter of actor Ray Winstone, Jaime, in a plaid micro-mini and the socialite Alice Dellal, in hot pants with her hair half-shaved in a punk tribute to Vivienne.

The line covered looks from Miss Marple to Miss Moneypenny, and models with teased “Penelope Tree” hair and platform footwear.

Vivienne took her bend in a pencil skirt, platforms and a blouse covered with remonstrance badges.

It feels like being at home,” she said.

There were a number of hooded tops and dresses with Middle Eastern character blended with tea dresses in draped and knotted materials that evoked nostalgia for the days of the old British Empire.

Colours were silented and often pale, set off at times by hoarse gold metallic jewelry and other brightly colored accessories.

Some of the runway models sported an bisexual view in tailored shorts and tight T-shirts. Others models wore toned down versions of the cone-shaped bras popularised by Madonna some years ago.

There were nice made pant suits and some dresses in silk satins, printed viscose and washed cottons.

Footwear were usually big and clumsy, with an emphasis on gold platform heels.

Designer Vivienne Westwood show was a London Fashion Week hot ticket for evident reasons. With a first row that boasted Pamela Anderson, Dita Von Teese, Emma Watson, Pixie Geldof and Kate Moss and runway turns from Alexa Chung and Daisy Lowe, this was certainly the show to be seen at. The outfits themselves were a mix of definitely wearable and glamour and madcap Westwood.

Leading designers Vivienne Westwood and Stella McCartney could be set to develop new view of Queen’s guards uniforms.

Queen’s guards are an iconic London sight, as familiar to the tourist as Big Ben and Tower Bridge.

The tall black bearskin hats, that are usually worn by the Queen’s Guards, are something of a London landmark but have always caused discussion among animal lovers as one bear has to be killed for each hat made.  Their use began in the wake of the Battle of Waterloo where they became spoils of war taken by the Grenadier Guards when British beat Napoleon’s Imperial Guard - who also wore bearskin. Animal rights campaigners from PETA have long been shoving for an alternate to be used - and now Stella McCartney and Vivienne Westwood could be stepping in to help.

This week PETA are set to contact with officials from the Ministry of Defence to put forward plans for another variant of materials and designs that could be used. Long-time vegetarian Stella McCartney and British fashion faithful Vivienne Westwood are just two of the designers who PETA have on standby to design something new and perfected if the M.O.D. give them the go-ahead.

A Minister of Defence spokesman told the Telegraph in London:

The MoD is not opposed to the use of synthetic materials as an alternative to bearskins, provided such materials meet the requirement for a high quality product that performs adequately in all weather conditions. Regrettably, a suitable alternative continues to prove elusive.” he said.

We can’t wait to see what they will make with the uniforms and hope a Stella-designed faux fur alternative can be found for the Queen’s guards.

Motorcycle boots

You don’t have to ride a Harley to get some edge into your wardrobe. Try motorcycle boots this fall to feel hippie and stylish. Leather and suede, with metal hardware, chains and pockets, just pick your favorite. Experts suggest wearing them with tights, flowing tops and colorful scarves which gave them a softer look.

Satin heels

Talking about elegance, is there anything more elegant and feminine than silky satin pumps? Probably not. Satin shoes are all bright this fall. For a look that really pops, pair bold color satin heels with a simple dress or jeans. You can create a really edgy look with bold printed stockings in matching colors.

Mary Jane heels

Retro chic never gets old. As some say, fashion repeats and intensifies iconic styles.

Ballet flats

Ballet flats get to be more pointed-toe than the popular rounded toes. Experts advise wearing them with short skirts, narrow-leg pants and skinny jeans.
Generally, toes have become more pointed, almond shaped this season, though peep toes are still favored.

Bejeweled sandals

They also make a comeback, being an ultimate must for flirty cocktail dresses, full-flow skirts and satin evening pants. As In style.com states, if you’ve got the legs, then don’t be afraid to flaunt these flattering styles.

Heeled oxfords

Oxfords come in the form of booties, with peep toes, almond-shaped toes and coffee colored hues, with laces, ribbons and tartan. These shoes are really feminine in design though might seem a bit too masculine in shape.

Ombre shoes

And some color tips now. Colors are big this fall, preferable colors are fuchsia, cobalt, and bright yellow.

Cobalt blues and bright reds bring a playful aspect to any look,” says Meghan Cleary, host of Shoe Therapy on HSN.

Purple is a huge trend for fall footwear. Black and gold is sleek and chic for fall and winter. You should keep outfits simple if wearing bold colors or chunky hardware. This season’s footwear is too good to be hidden. And don’t forget about one of the boldest looks these days – layer socks over tights!

Vivienne Westwood just presented her Anglomania collection during Berlin’s Fashion Week. As usual, we were wow’ed by the Great Dame of fashion. There’s no show like a Vivienne show!

Vivienne’s spring/summer 2009 collection combines elements of punk culture with her latest vision inspired by Ancient Greece. Black tee-shirts bearing the word Berlin and decorated with 80s-style badges, vibrant shift dresses, metallic puffball skirts and diamond-print bum bags were presented on the catwalk. Moreover, a puffball dress with buttoned bodice and sliced-open sleeves became one of the show’s highlights.

The high-spirited collection, targeted towards a younger more casual costumer, was the ideal way to finish off the week. Bold colours, draped jersey, and loud prints, mixed with elements of Greek antiquity and Westwood’s punk roots.

Vivienne opted for grape prints for a lot of items of her collection from casual white tee-shirts to the puffball dress.

Westwood’s extravagance filled the show and every single bit of it. Her models, instead of making a traditional catwalk show, were dancing and skipping their way along the runway.

Generally, the show was a great success with the crowd, which gave the British fashion icon a standing ovation.
The label’s co-designer Christopher Di Pietro said,

It’s become a really big business and with that has come a lot of seriousness, a lot of fun has been taken out of it. It should be fun. I mean, what’s not to like about seeing beautiful girls wearing beautiful clothes?”

Bold print shift dresses formed a key part of the playful catwalk show.

Sex And The City star Kim Cattrall went to Berlin this Sunday to visit the city’s extravagant fashion week finale. Ms. Cattrall was seated in the front row alongside Vivienne Westwood, checking out her Anglomania collection.
