Katy Perry (Check out Katy Perry’s bio) likes attention, all kind of it. So, probably she wanted as much of it from public as possible when she appeared at the 2012 AMAs in a Vivienne Westwood dress with a few Chinese hieroglyphics. People who can’t speak the language just talked about the design of the dress but others who understood the inscription discussed its meaning that was really controversial.

The problem was that the hieroglyphics actually translated as the Chinese Communist Party’s current favorite slogan. And both Chinese population and other people wondered why Perry opted to wear this dress and whether she knew what the phrase really implied or not.

Lu Se Jing Ji – translated as Green Economy – was printed onto Katy Perry’s beautiful dress sparked huge debate on whether the designer and the singer indeed supported the Chinese government, or were trying to mock them with the phrase.

Neither Westwood nor Perry have commented on the situation so far but people still discuss, and nobody knows what turn the situation can take.

Taylor Swift was one of the most fabulous-looking girls on the red carpet of the 2011 American Music Awards in her gold Reem Acra gown all over covered with sparkling sequins. Besides, she one of the happiest as she took three awards home – Artist of the Year, Favorite Country Female Artist and Favorite Country Album.

Jennifer Lopez looked chic and sexy in her see-through Giambattista Valli gown. She was honored with Favorite Latin Artist award at the ceremony.

Katy Perry who stood out of the crown with her Vivienne Westwood dress, blue peep-toe pumps and flowers in the hair received Special Award at the 2011 American Music Awards.

Model and Project Runway hostess Heidi Klum dazzled on the red carpet of the 2011 American Music Awards in a stylish perforated dress by Giles Deacon.

Selena Gomez, who hosted 2011 European Music Awards in Belfast last month, appeared at the event with her boyfriend Justin Bieber. The couple looked cute and happy together. Selena wore a Giorgio Armani glitzy dress to the event.

Actress Katherine Heigl arrived to the 2011 American Music Awards wearing a black floor-length gown with a long split on the leg and an unusual detail behind.

Nicki Minaj didn’t leave the 2011 American Music Awards empty-handed. She was honored two accolades at the ceremony – Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist and Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album. The eccentric dresser Nicki opted for a beautiful Oscar de la Renta dress to rock on the red carpet.

Russian model Anna Vyalitsina arrived at the 2011 American Music Awards to support her boyfriend Adam Levigne from Maroon 5. She looked lovely in a red lacy dress and black shoes.

Once Upon A Time actress Jennifer Morrison also attended the 2011 American Music Awards. She chose a Temperley London dress and Fendi shoes to wear at the ceremony.

Jennifer Hudson rocked a metallic mini dress to the 2011 American Music Awards. She looked great in it.

Vivienne Westwood’s rebellious nature is known to us all. It is clearly reflected in her creations which cannot be even compared to normal clothing her fellow designers make. But we can’t deny there is always an interesting idea behind Dame Westwood’s works. She can think about saving the rainforests, or anarchy in this world but what she’s got in the result is always surprising, often breathtaking and sometimes even shocking. For her Spring/ Summer 2011 collection Westwood combined her vision of the past, present and future. Using both chic and simple materials the designer showed us the picture of our life – intriguing and scary, controversial and hopeful, ridiculous and bright. All in one.

If we part from the idea behind the Vivienne Westwood Spring/ Summer 2011 collection and speak fashionably we could note that the collection was rather hectic. It featured elements which separately would look great but together were pretty confusing. And the clownish makeup and extravagant hair didn’t add to the wearability of looks.

Some pieces in Vivienne Westwood’s Spring/ Summer 2011 collection were amazing though, and in combination with more sensible garments would look fantastic. We love the sky-blue mini dress, floral-printed kimono, the final cute wedding dress and the torn grey-and-blue knitted dress.

Accessories by Vivienne Westwood were much more versatile than clothes (but that’s always true about accessories, right?). Hats, kerchiefs, caps, lovely flowers in hair were good. Bags came roomy and convenient. Jewelry, sometimes too daring, was attention-grabbing and would be ideal to make the outfit brighter.

The only exception, a total exception, were the Westwood’s shoes. The platforms were too huge and while they could be great for photography we doubt there is a girl who would actually love to wear these.

Lara Stone’s i-D cover is most beautiful for me. I love the colors very much. Lara looks so sexy (and we have only her face featured!)

Next is Abbey Lee Kershaw’s i-D front page that I’d love to discuss. For me it is really cute. I like the way she channeled Twiggy. Eyelashes are amazing!

Fei Fei Sun’s i-D photo is the most revealing of the four pictures but it looks interesting and playful rather than sexy.

And the last but most popular is Carine Roitfeld’s cover for i-D. The ex-Vogue Paris editor looks too serious but very elegant. But I dislike the Vivienne Westwood’s tee with “God save the Queen” phrase on it.

Majority of pieces in Vivienne Westwood‘s Spring/ Summer 2012 Red Label collection look very beautiful. Recognized silhouettes and shapes as well as signature prints have been somehow put into outfits we would love to sport. Draped dresses, loose tees, cropped pants and leather biker jackets will definitely sell out while a pair of cropped trousers with a seriously low-hanging crotch is kind of silly.

I really like miniskirts and chic cocktail dresses, the black pantsuit and the unusual light cape in Vivienne Westwood‘s Spring/ Summer 2012 Red Label collection. Golden mini is amazing, too.

Christina Hendricks, who never loses a chance to show off her curves, looked wonderful in a pink satin dress by Vivienne Westwood. She finished her look with a pair of nude pumps, jewel-encrusted clutch and chic earrings and bracelet.

Sarah Jessica Parker dressed much more demurely for I Don’t Know How She Does It premiere but she looked very elegant and stylish. Her choice for the evening was a floor-length maxi dress.

Olivia Munn also looked beautiful. She opted for a strapless prom-style red dress and nude sandals.

Emma Roberts and Jessica Szohr were among the attendees, too. Emma wore a scarlet maxi dress and a long necklace to I Don’t Know How She Does It premiere.

And Jessica went for a sumptuous golden mini. The Gossip Girl star looked almost unrecognizable with a straight, blunt hair style.

The upcoming season is almost here so we are to tell all about men fashion trends for Fall/Winter 2011/2012.The designers have much to offer so men’s fall fashion is very rich in terms of colors, styles, textures, and fabrics. You will see some trends continuing like military fashion, and many new ones that will diversify your style.

Military trend goes on: Military style coats and jackets as well as accessories have been all over the runway and the trend is continuing since the last year. Such designers and brands as Salvatore Ferragamo, Alexander McQueen, and Versace showed off some some very stylish military jackets and outerwear. Alexander McQueen outerwear is heavily influenced by military fashion.

Preppy fashion adds a splash of color: Preppy fashion is a big trend this fall. If you like casual style and comfortable clothes in bright hues then you might find plenty of designs in the collections of Vivienne Westwood, Tommy Hilfiger, Junya Watanabe, D&G, Acne, and Etro.

Every shade of gray: Gray is classic. It can be worn with black and white as well as mixed with bolder colors. Whether you’re sporting a casual look or a business suit, gray color is one of the major trends for Fall/Winter 2011/2012. Michael Kors, Dior Homme, Dolce & Gabbana, Lanvin, and Bogetta Veneta have used gray in suits, outerwear and other clothing.

Neutral tones with splashes of bold hues: Many designers have went for neutral tones for their Fall/Winter 2011/2012 collections but presented them with pops of bolder hues to keep it interesting. Canali, Salvatore Ferragamo, Etro, and Michael Kors have shown off some clothes in light brown hues, light gray tones, and even pure white. Accessorize the neutral suit with a bold red or teal scarf.

Stylish suits and workwear: The suits for Fall/Winter 2011/2012 feature single and double-breasted jackets, pleated trousers and bold pocket square. Suits have been seen at Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Hermes, Versace, Canali, Michael Kors, and Salvatore Ferragamo. Workwear and overalls have been made stylish as seen at G-Star, Buckler, Hermes, and Marni. Featured in leather and with outward pockets the overalls look fresh and fashionable.

Luxurious fabrics: Velvet is continuing as a trend alongside such luxurious fabrics as cashmere, fur, leather, and calfskin. These and other luxe fabrics have been all over runway. Velvet jackets, colored leather, fur coats and calfskin outerwear can be seen at Salvatore Ferragamo, Versace, Etro, and others.

Chunky knit and Nordic sweaters: Chunky knit sweaters in bold colors as well as the sweaters with Nordic motifs are big this season. They are warm and yet bright and can be found at Missoni, Junya Watanabe, Versace, and Hermes. By the way, bright and neutral turtlenecks also trend this season.

Loose-tailored clothes: Some loose-tailoring is also a big trend for Fall/Winter 2011/2012. From loose-fitting overalls and trousers to oversize loose coats and jackets you get to enjoy some freedom of motion alongside some form-fitting suits.

Some minor trends include various prints as seen at Dolce & Gabbana and Etro fashion shows, hats that have been seen at many shows including that of Dior Homme, Lanvin, Salvatore Ferragamo, and Dsquared2. Creased cuffed trousers are also among Fall/Winter 2011/2012 trends as well as the external pockets and scarves winded round the neck. If you like prints there are lots of swirling prints in Etro Fall/Winter 2011/2012 collection as well as plaid can be found in collections by many designers and brands and, of course, Burberry Prorsum.

Taylor Momsem used to be a sweet girl until she was carried away with her music career. She has changed. Now we can hardly see her wearing anything but underwear, torn pantyhose and thigh-high boots.

Vivienne Westwood believes normal is abnormal. She just can’t live like others. She is a rebel, it’s in her nature. Her designs are often crazy and her own clothes are ridiculous.

Helena Bonham Carter is an amazing actress and a horrible dresser. She can wear shoes of different colors, and co-ordinate her own bloomers with ones of her daughter. And her frizzy hair always makes a messy nest.

Katy Perry has chosen to be funny and odd from the beginning. PVC dresses, vibrant tutus, revealing corsets with hearts, apples and flowers printed, – all these have become the singer’s trademark.

Paloma Faith is a British version of Lady Gaga. She sings, writes music, acts and wears outrageous fashion. She is bold and unpredictable, funny and stunning.

Anna Piaggi – lady that knows how influential fashion can be. She dedicated her life to it and now when she no longer works she maintains public interest in her persona by appearing at events and in streets wearing something an ordinary person would never wear.

Pumps and stilettos. Despite all hot discussions about how harmful stilettos and pumps are there will always be women ready to sacrifice their health for beauty and elegance. Therefore, such shoes will always be trendy. For Spring/ Summer 2011 high-heeled shoes come in a great variety of colors, from crazy and eye popping hues to reserved and even dull tones.

Flats. Flats are generally perceived as unsexy and focused basically on the comfort of the woman wearing those. However, judging by Spring/ Summer 2011 designer collections flats have become more glamorous and attractive and this makes those more versatile. You can now pair them either with a cute dress or a stylish pair of jeans.

The styles of flats in Spring/ Summer 2011 are very diverse: ballerina flats, oxford flats, sneaker sandals, Jesus sandals, etc. Such a wide spectrum allows each girl to find a pair that fits her personal style best.

Printed shoes. Prints make shoes look livelier and more cheerful. You can use these to complement your look or there is a possibility of building looks around such shoes. The trendiest shoe prints for Spring/ Summer 2011 fashion season are the florals, geometric patterns and animal designs.

Gladiator and strappy sandals. Gladiators continue to be a very trendy shoe design. These come in high heel, wedge and flat versions. For fans of more delicate styles strappy sandal trend is also available.

Clog-inspired shoes. First created by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel Spring/ Summer 2010 collection clogs have been gaining their popularity since then. They are still trendy now but with a modernized look and more luxurious in design.

Platform wedges. Wedges are hotter than ever during Spring/ Summer 2011 fashion season. Common designs are added with platform ones which look even more stylish. There are modest wedges which are fantastic for everyday wear, espadrille styles, and very exquisite designs you would want to wear to big life events. Look for wedges in Sonia Rykiel, Christian Dior, Vivienne Westwood and Jonathan Saunders collections.

Flatform Heels. This can be the first time you have ever heard of flatform shoes because this is a new term and it refers to flats that are elevated on a high platform heel, held on by an ankle strap. I would even say that they remind me of summer espadrilles but these are a bit higher. Flatforms do not look very elegant or sophisticated but they do provide great comfort to wearer. Despite the fact the shoes are rather high you can walk easily in these without feeling pain. Chanel, Prada, 3.1 Philip Lim, Michael Kors, Derek Lam, Vivienne Westwood, and Chloé have all featured flatform shoes in their Spring/ Summer 2011 ranges. By the way, flatforms are considered the shoes for 2011!!!
