I like Taylor Swift. She is sincere and kind, cheerful and funny. Besides, she is very pretty and stylish. What I dislike about her is the fact she writes about her former relationships which, in my opinion, can affect guys’ desire to date her (They understand that if they breakup her next song will be about them.). Taylor is a kind of person who is always insecure and worries about everything in the world. She is obsessed with planning things and still feels like an outsider at events she is invited to. How do I know all that? No, I’m not her close friend. But I’ve read her interview for Vogue (February 2012 issue) which can be very interesting if you are a fan of this girl.

Taylor Swift on feeling like an outsider: “I think who you are in school really sticks with you. I don’t ever feel like the cool kid at the party, ever. It’s like, Smile and be nice to everybody, because you were not invited to be here.”

Taylor Swift on her future: “I fret about the future. What my next move should be. What the move after that should be. How I am going to sustain this. How do I evolve. I get so ahead of myself. I’m like, ‘What am I going to be doing at 30?’ But there’s no way to know that! So it’s this endless mind-boggling equation that you’ll never figure out. I over-analyze myself into being a big bag of worries.”

Taylor Swift on what inspired her fourth album: “There’s just been this earth-shattering, not recent, but absolute crash-and-burn heartbreak, and that will turn out to be what the next album is about. The only way that I can feel better about myself – pull myself out of that awful pain of losing someone – is writing songs about it to get some sort of clarity.”

Taylor Swift on being single at the moment: “I got nothing going on. I just don’t really feel like dating. I really have this great life right now, and I’m not sad and I’m not crying this Christmas, so I am really stoked about that. I am not gonna go into it. It’s a sad story.” (She probably said that hinting to her relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal who broke up with her just around Christmas in 2010.)

Taylor Swift on feelings that influence her behavior: “I think I am smart unless I am really, really in love, and then I am ridiculously stupid.”

Taylor Swift on lessons she learned from her failed relationships: “I have a few red flags now. If someone doesn’t seem to want to get to know me as a person but instead seems to have kind of bought into the whole idea of me and he approves of my Wikipedia page,’ along with ‘men who are threatened by what I do.

Also I can’t deal with someone who’s obsessed with privacy. ‘If you care about privacy to the point where we need to dig a tunnel under this restaurant so that we can leave? I can’t do that.”

I don’t ever want to be that person whose self-image overtakes who they are. I am not a fan of working out that much. There’s no regimen. There’s no personal trainer. I love to go hiking because it’s an experience. If I need to gain stamina for a tour, I will run every single night on the treadmill, but I don’t necessarily like being at the gym.”

Vogue UK February 2012 is a very summery issue! It features model Arizona Muse posing in amazing bright dresses from designer Spring/ Summer 2012 collections. Her makeup is bright too but not as amazing. As for hair, it completes the looks ideally.

Photographed by Patrick Demarchelier Arizona Muse looks great on the pictures. She smiles and happily poses under warm sun rays. She wears Louis Vuitton, YSL, Preen, Chloe, Prada, Nina Ricci and other designers’ creations.

Arizona Muse also wears tons of accessories. Jewelry is funky, bold and colorful. It isn’t made of extremely expensive crystals or stones. Instead, plastic, wooden and metallic pieces were used.

A couple of bags come from Prada and Miu Miu Spring/ Summer 2012 collections. Bold unusual prints make the looks even more eye-catching.

1. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (Check out Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s model profile and photos) deserves to top the 2011 Best-Dressed list. She might not be the best actress but she is good at choosing and wearing clothes. She always looks fantastic both on the red carpet and in everyday life.

2. Duchess of Cambridge has had to go through a lot of difficulties to get to the position she occupies now. But she did that with grace. Catherine looks elegant and sophisticated no matter what she wears: a luxurious designer gown or an inexpensive dress she has bought in a high street store.

3. Kirsten Dunst hasn’t been very fashionable throughout the years but this year she has made an effort and now her every red carpet appearance is a hit.

4. Blake Lively has become a real red carpet star this year and a regular on Best-Dressed Celebrity Lists. She is invited to nearly all more or less important events and every time she arrives she steals the limelight from other celebrities. Keep that, Blake, and good luck!

5. Emma Stone is another fresh face in celebrity fashion area. This girl has won our hearts with both her acting and way of dressing. Whatever brand she wears she makes the designer feel proud of his work.

6. Chloe Moretz is only 14 but she is already a trendsetter. She has her wardrobe fully packed with clothing from most reputable designers and when she wears those at glam events no one doubts that it’s the star strutting on the red carpet. We are sure she will be included into Best-Dressed Celebrity lists every years from now.

7. Michelle Williams has played Marilyn, the woman who is still a style icon for many. So, this woman just can’t be at the bottom with her fashion choices. She knows that and does everything to keep up with her new Michelle-Marilyn image.

8. Victoria Beckham is both the designer and model of her own designs. She creates timeless pieces and demonstrates us the best way to wear those. Even her baby-daughter, who is a few-month-old, is already the most stylish celebrity kid of 2011.

9. Anne Hathaway is one of very few stars who NEVER looks bad both on the red carpet and in real life. She knows her assets and dresses to flatter those. Besides, let’s not remember her Oscar hosting when she changed over ten outfits without a single faux pas!

10. Elle Fanning is even younger than Chloe but she is no worse at dressing. The muse of Marc Jacobs and Miuccia Prada, the actress looks wonderful in chic garments from her favorite brands.

At the age of 62 Maryl Streep makes the oldest woman covering Vogue but she is definitely one of those who has really deserved it. The Oscar-winning actress looks amazing on her first Vogue cover. She is featured sitting on a stone in a simple blue belted dress with ocean waves lapping against her.

While usual celebrity photoshoots demonstrate us stars striking sultry poses in barely-there outfits Maryl Streep’s one is very demure and dreamy. The woman, who used to play strong personalities like Miranda Priestley in Devil Wears Prada, looks very calm and relaxed posing for cameras. She clearly enjoys being in nature and breathing the fresh air.

In the interview for Vogue January 2012 issue Maryl Streep speaks a few wise things. She opens up on what she feels about her character prototype in The Iron Lady film, fears she had at 40 that her career would end and being the first women her age posing for Vogue cover.

Maryl Streep on fear her acting career was over when she turned 40: “[When I was 40] I remember turning to my husband and saying, ‘Well, what should we do? Because it’s over.’ Once women passed childbearing age they could only be seen as grotesque on some level.”

Maryl Streep on her attitude to Margaret Thatcher: “There was a special venom reserved for Thatcher, I felt, because she was a woman. With any character I play, where she is me is where I meet her. It’s very easy to set people at arm’s length and judge them. Yes, you can judge the policies and the actions and the shortcomings-but to live inside that body is another thing entirely. And it’s humbling on a certain level and infuriating, just like it is to live in your own body. Because you recognize your own failings, and I have no doubt that she recognized hers.”

Maryl Streep on what she feels about The Iron Lady film: “Because the material embedded in it is a lot of what I’ve been thinking about. The themes in the film, which I don’t feel like underlining, have interested me for a while. And you never see these subjects covered in films normally, and so that was very thrilling.”

Maryl Streep on being the oldest person to cover Vogue: “I was joking with the ladies earlier. And I told them I was probably the oldest person ever to be on the cover of Vogue.”

Victoria’s Secret Angel Candice Swanepoel, who is known for her waif thin waist, poses for a few images inside the November 2011 issue of Vogue Brazil. She looks very different. Curly hair, fantastic blue eyes and bold accessories make her look really pretty and sexy.

I won’t exaggerate if I say that Vogue November 2011 cover with Rooney Mara is the best Vogue cover of the year (For some reason I’m sure the December cover won’t be as good!). It’s fresh and bright enough and it features the girl who has eyes that go through you, that expose you and reveal all your secret thoughts. And it’s not the exaggeration again. This image has really impressed me.

Rooney Mara, who plays in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, looks as amazing on other photos in the issue. Wearing a daring black gown the actress poses in the grey background which instead of making her look boring focuses on features that make her look special – rich expressiveness of her face and attractiveness that is not about sex appeal.

I particularly love those photos with greenness around. I know it’s not natural and was made via Photoshop but Rooney looks so ethereal on these pics that I can forgive the photographer for everything.

It’s interesting to note that Emma Watson, who graces the UK Elle front page is also the covergirl of Elle Canada. Both images look good. But I prefer the Canadian one because Emma looks so cute and feminine on it while the UK cover shows us just a part of her face.

The UK Elle November 2011 issue features the Harry Potter star on many photographs. Emma Watson looks pretty on all of them. She is dressed like a Bunny girl, then a glam queen and just a girl-next-door. She’s different but beautiful.

The US Elle is covered by Jennifer Aniston, who’s finally found the love she’s been seeking for so long. She looks amazing – slim, fit, stylish and charming. In the interview for the magazine the Just Go With It star denies she is desperate to have a baby and says she has stood up to a male director once.

Jennifer Aniston on the baby rumors: “But it’s not what you read. There’s no desperation. If it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be. I’m at peace with whatever the plan is. But will you hate me if I say I don’t want to talk about my relationship?”

Jennifer Aniston on a time when she stood up to a male director: “I threw a chair at a director. It wasn’t my proudest moment. He was treating a script supervisor horribly. When the director walked in, I threw a chair at him. I missed, of course. I was like, ‘You can’t speak to people like that.’ I can’t tolerate it.”

Jennifer isn’t the only famous woman to have been photographed for the November 2011 issue of Elle US. There are also pictures of Elizabeth Olsen, Freida Pinto, Evan Rachel Wood, Naomi Watts, Barbra Streisand, Viola Davis, Michelle Pfeiffer, and DreamWorks CEO Stacey Snider in the edition.

Naomi Watts on her breakthrough role in Mulholland Drive: “It was a game-changer, but I knew I had to be careful. You can get a lot of attention and still be gone in a flash.”

Naomi Watts on becoming an actress: “One of the things was seeing the movie Fame, as cheesy as that sounds. I was like, That looks fun! It wasn’t that I wanted to be famous. I just wanted to go to acting class.”

Elizabeth Olsen on taking a year off school to make her film debut: “They’re all indies, so the shoots were relatively short — it was great because every single film was a genre, and the directors were so completely different. It helped me figure out what worked for me and how I would adapt. It was difficult at times — like a great year of conservatory training. It was that intense.”

Elizabeth Olsen on her desire to act: “Watching old Frank Sinatra musicals when I was, like, 6. I wanted to be one of the love interests when I got older.”

Rihanna, who covers Vogue UK November 2011 issue, wears a wonderful floral-printed dress for the front page (is it Alberta Ferretti?) and a black bodysuit, cardigan, beret and a pair of sexy pumps for the inside pictorial.

While talking to the Vogue UK interviewer Rihanna mentions that it is not she that people see on stage. It’s just a part she has to play.

Rihanna told Vogue UK:

That’s not me. That’s a part I play. You know, like it’s a piece of art… I just want to make music.”

She also notes that her troubled childhood made her too mature too early:

I saw too much. I was way too mature for my age.”

Japanese Vogue November 2011 issue features a Woman of The Year Lara Stone. The supermodel wears a number of Givenchy outfits for both the cover and the photos inside the magazine. On the cover we see her rocking a stylish green number. She looks beautiful. And the pictures inside show us quite a different Lara, also beautiful, but there is more than that about her. She is sensual and tempting, but then too confident and aggressive.

Karl Lagerfeld is collaborating with Snoop Dogg. Straaaange. But oh, it’s only a video collaboration not a collection and whatnot. The now friends have met at Snoop Dogg’s party in Paris and this week Karl Lagerfeld went to St. Tropez to appear in Jean-Roch music video for his single “St. Tropez” where Snoop Dogg will appear too. So I guess the “collaboration” is a big word for the news but just imagine how their fashion collection would look like had they really worked on it together.

In other news, Carine Roitfeld gave an interview to Sunday Magazine. The ex-editor of Vogue Paris talked about her upcoming book Irreverent, editor work and cigarettes in fashion photography:

The book is dedicated to my husband, who quit smoking seven months ago. When he decided to stop smoking, I said, My God, it’s too bad I didn’t try to help him to stop before. Now I decide I will never use a cigarette again in any shoot. When you’re doing fashion pictures, you’re talking to lots of figures; some are very young, and they’re like sponges. So if your girl is smoking a cigarette, they can say, Oh, my God, it’s smart to smoke a cigarette, it’s good for the look, so I’m going to have one, too. And it’s totally stupid. It’s an easy solution to make a picture more interesting, but it’s not the only solution. And now it’s like, forgive me for all these cigarettes I’ve put in all these issues.

A bit late but guess it’s better than nothing.

Roitfeld was also asked about the spread with a 10 year old Thylane Blondeau styled as an adult and whether she should apologize for it:

A lot of people say I was fired because of this issue, because of the little girls dressed in mom clothes…It was very, very controversial. Old couples, kids, surgery. But it was not done on purpose because I was leaving. It was done before that, you know.

The reason I call my book “Irreverent” is because there were a lot of pictures that were very irreverent. Maybe I could call my book “Forgiving” because maybe I made a lot of errors too.

I mean what should one expect while putting a ten-year-old “model” on a cover dressed in “mom’s clothes”?

Madonna was sued for using a trademark – Material Girl for her Macy’s collection by clothes manufacturer L.A. Triumph. Despite creating a song of 1984 called Material Girl Madonna only has a song name copyright not a trademark. The trial will take place in October.
