Sarah Jessica Parker To Launch Shoes At Nordstrom

Sarah Jessica Parker is finally going to launch the shoe line Vogue reports. Her ‘Sex and the City’ Carrie Bradshaw character and her extensive shoe collection has made thousands of fashionistas across the world both happy and envious. So as the actress herself notes:

In a silly way, I think it’s what people have expected of me most because of Carrie Bradshaw.

Partnered with George Malkemus, the CEO at Manolo Blahnik, whose shoes Carrie Bradshaw coveted and cherished in the series, Parker is to launch a shoe and bag line exclusively at Nordstrom early next year and will throw in some trenches to help create a full look.

It’s sort of soup to nuts. You put on a shoe and you put on a coat and you wear a bag and, on the outside, when you’re walking down the street, they really can tell the same story about yourself,

she says.

The shoes will be in the style of Maud Frizon and Charles Jourdan and will be produced in Europe and New York. The actress says the focus is on the unusual color combinations.

The price range is somewhere in the middle with $200 to $300 for shoes and under $700 for bags. Here’s what she had to say about what to expect from the bags:

And in terms of bags, thinking about that period of the seventies into the eighties, what those women were carrying, taking away the bells and the whistles and hardware and really making it about the bag.

Design is not a new field for Sarah Jessica Parker. She had her own fashion line back in 2007 and designed a hanbag with Kenneth Cole for amfAR. She’s been a recognized fashion icon for a number of years now and as she says thanks to her role she wore many pairs of shoes and ‘learned an enormous amount’.

Helena Bonham Carter Is Cover Star Of Vogue UK’s Ageless Style Issue

The actress was photographed by the famous fashion photographer duo Mert & Marcus. The photoshoot is mostly in black and white showing Carter wearing corsets and dramatic hats. I loved the styling as it’s quite reflective of the actress’ style and is  yet refined. In the interview she talks about learning from her roles, about being a mom and an actress, and her husband Tim Burton.

She says:

The research is what I get off on. My mom is a psychologist and I’m very similar to her. I love the challenge of working a character out. Ultimately, I don’t agree to do a film because I think it’s going to be a success. I do it because I think I’m going to learn something from the character I’m playing. I’m not sure what yet, but I know I am going to learn something from Elizabeth [Taylor]. I know that, somehow, I’m going to grow as a soul from playing her.”

The star also did a movie with Johnny Depp (again) called the The Lone Ranger and said she learnt to fire a double-barelled shotgun from a prosthetic leg;

It’s frighteningly empowering firing a gun, you know? I’m afraid I learnt that too…

Carter has always drawn attention not only with her roles but quirky style. Everything about her style is extravagant starting with the tousled locks to tattered, corseted, and draped dresses to eye-catchy accessories. Regardless of being a regular on the various worst-dressed lists the actress stayed true to her style and even got a fashion gig in 2011 with Marc Jacobs.

June 2013 Fashion Magazine Covers

Harper’s Bazaar is the leader of best June covers. Harper’s Bazaar Spain tapped Cindy Crawford for their June issue. Styled by Juan Cebrian the photoshoot shows Cindy in a sunny California wearing designs from Roberto Cavalli, Michael Kors, and Vionnet. The supermodel attended the 2013 Cannes Film Festival opening ceremony and The Great Gatsby premiere wearing a sexy white Roberto Cavalli gown. Other Bazaars featured the The Great Gatsby star Carey Mulligan, model Marique Schimmel, model Jessica Amornkuldilok, and Sarah Jessica Parker.

The latter wore a striped Oscar de la Renta Spring 2013 gown for the cover and Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Dior, Ralph Lauren Collection for the spread.

Vogue is the runner up in our list of best June covers. There are three great ones – Vogue Japan the features Karlie Kloss clad in Saint Laurent posing to Hedi Slimane; Vogue Spain with Anja Rubik on the cover; and Vogue Russia with guest editor Dasha Zhukova.

Marie Claire has two great covers featuring Carrie Underwood in a printed fuchsia dress and a car and model Petra Nemcova showing off accessories in the camera. The model also shined on the Cannes red carpet wearing stunning dresses.

Emma Watson glamed up for W Magazine June/July 2013 cover. Wearing a Louis Vuitton blazer The Bling Ring star looks like a silver screen siren while her photoshoot brings a ton of glamour and inspiration thanks to vintage hair and beautiful dresses.

Christina Hendricks is simply amazing so, honestly, I look forward to every cover she’s on. This time the Mad Men star graces May 2013 cover of Flare magazine. Wearing a bright yellow dress the actress looks effortlessly chic as usual. She shared on dealing with rejection:

I’ve been to a million auditions and have been rejected a million times, so it’s something that I’m used to. You’re either right for it or you’re not right for it. You could leave thinking you had the best audition in the world and they say you don’t look like the person I imagined. It has nothing to do with your talent. Emily Blunt stuns on the May 2013 cover of InStyle, wearing a pink metallic Burberry Prorsum outfit and wet look hair. The star talks marriage, being thirty and her first action movie with the magazine, saying of Hollywood:

Cate Blanchett looks gorgeous on the black and white cover of Australian Harper’s Bazaar. The star talks fashion and arts in the interview and defends her style:

Couture is a cabinet of curiosities. It’s a place of experimentation and I think the red carpet is a great place to display it. I knew people would either hate that [2009 crochet Romance Was Born] dress or really love it. People get so worried about what everybody thinks. But I love Romance Was Born because they have a great anarchic freedom.

Carey Mulligan scored a few covers including Vogue US May 2013 cover where she is portrayed in the style of her latest movie heroine Daisy Buchanan. Kate Hudson looks amazing in red Gucci gown as she covers Elle UK May 2013. The star talks family, her fiance Matthew Bellamy and ballroom dancing. On the latter she commented:

Oh my God I love it. I’ve learnt the cha-cha and the tango. I’m having dresses made. Those colours and flounces are totally my guilty pleasure. The whole thing’s an excuse to go out on the dancefloor looking almost naked. With sequins. It’s so sexy.

Kate Upton For Vogue June 2013

Whether it is the vintage swimsuit or a simple t-shirt, Kate Upton maintains her fabulous looks. The 20-year-old model looks stunning of this Vogue editorial. As sources state, Kate Upton has finally made it to the most fashionable magazine and it is not only due to her super-hot forms, it is also her popularity and her blasting personality. Her personality is more people-oriented, as mentioned by Upton herself:

I didn’t buy the magazines that had models on the covers, because I didn’t know them. So I think this kind of gives me, as a model, a personality that people can connect with.

This appearance is her second Vogue editorial, first being Vogue Italia as she steadily moves toward being a Girl of the Moment. However, she is not like zero-sized models of the present times as she has her own curvaceous charms to beat the world popularity, despite the humiliating internet ramblings regarding her body. She has admitted that she learns not to pay attention to the negative attitude:

You sit there and you’re like ‘Is something wrong with me?’ The things that they’re rejecting are things that I can’t change. I can’t change my bra size. They’re natural! I can work out and I can stay healthy and motivated, but I can’t change some things. I really just live my life. I love my body. It’s what God gave me! I feel confident with myself, and if that inspires other women to feel confident with their bodies, great.

Upton takes it with a sense of humor, as she likes her popularity, even though it is sometimes quite negative. She is loved by fashion designers like Michael Kors that enjoy her healthy shape reminiscing about the era when modeling was much healthier. During her long modeling career no one ever paid attention to her gaze. Now highlighted by thick eyeliner and false eyelashes, her misaligned eyes are sort of obvious. British Vogue has been keeping the mystery of who would be the first cover girl for the youth appealing Miss Vogue till the latest moment. Now, since it is official, here is what UK Editor in Chief, Alexandra Shulman has to say about the start of this editorial describing Delevingne as:

Miss Vogue made physical with a maverick sense of style and fun.

Later on Alexandra Shulman continues to describe her expectations in the editor’s letter, that is accompanied by an image of herself when she was 15-year-old:

We hope you enjoy it as much as we have enjoyed working on it. Vogue magazine appeals to all ages but I wanted to produce an edition targeted at younger readers, created with your lifestyles in mind. As with the mother magazine, the fashion is meant to inspire even if you’re a bit short on cash.

The cover was caught on lenses by Angelo Pennetta, where Cara Delevingne wears a baby pink tank and a matching skirt over a gray tee. Miss Vogue June 2013 will come along the “bigger sister” Vogue UK, with another famous British model, Kate Moss, on the cover. Carey Mulligan in Prada Coat for Harper’s Bazaar UK June 2013 Issue

Carey Mulligan got a second chance to recover from her latest photoshoot for US Vogue May 2013 issue, where she was criticized for a boring facial expression and ugly outfit. This time the Great Gatsby actress became a cover girl of the Harper’s Bazaar UK June 2013 issue, which I fell in love with.

Stylist of this Harper’s Bazaar photoshoot managed to catch Carey’s inner world the best way, what allowed to reflect it in the utterly soft and touching photos. Shot by the lens of Tom Allen, Carey appears on a cover wearing the light pink Prada coat with chamomile appliqué while standing under a blooming cherry tree. As for the hairstyle and makeup in pastel shades, she wore the minimalistic makeup by Georgie Eisdell, while her hair was pulled into a tousled bun by Jenny Cho. All in all. this cover oozes a truly spring vibe along with delicacy and sensuality.

The subscriber’s cover comes in the black and white color palette. In the picture Carey is laughing with her closed eyes at the same place and with the same look. However, this shot makes a totally different impression and doesn’t exude that angelic vibe as its colored predecessor.

Carey Mulligan Covers Harper’s Bazaar UK June 2013

In the many-sided interview to the magazine Carey shared her thoughts about her husband, shooting Great Gatsby, music that inspires her, etc.

Carey Mulligan on meeting her husband Daniel Day Lewis:

He wrote me this beautiful handwritten note a couple of weeks afterwards just saying how nice it was to meet me and that he’d like An Education. His penmanship was beautiful. The note was the most beautiful thing. If my house was burning down I would save that. It is so precious.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley looked adorable in a bodycon strapless dress from Michael Kors Spring/Summer 2013 collection in black and yellow, which she styled with Jean-Michel Cazabat white court shoes.

Erin O’Connor opted for the Louis Vuitton pencil dress in black and white checks, which she styled with black court shoes.

Anna Dello Russo and Melissa Obadash embraced the trendy monochrome trend, as the former layered a black cloak with a matching mini dress with white cuffs, which she complemented with a white clutch, black t-strap shoes and a wide-brim hat; while Melissa wore a white bodycon dress with lacy sleeves styled with contrasting black sandals.

Alice Temperley and Jade Jagger held a party at the Temperley London store in honor of launching Jagger’s jewellery line. Both ladies looked stunning in outfits by Temperley London: Alice teamed a crisp white sunflower skirt with a button-up shirt and coral red peep-toe heels, while Jade chose a coral red dress styled with gold strappy sandals.

Jacquetta Wheeler demonstrated a chic look as she opted for a Michael Kors purple tunic dress with sequin detailing accessorized with black strappy heels and a matching clutch.

Laura Bailey pulled off an elegant outfit that consisted of a nude coat layered over a white mini dress. She styled a look with black platform shoes, a black clutch and white watches.

Seems like the obsession with The Great Gatsby movie came to the fashion industry as Carey Mulligan covers the May 2013 US Vogue issue. The 27-year-old UK actress, who plays Daisy Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby, appears on the cover in the lime green gown from Oscar de la Renta Fall Winter 2013-2013 collection, which evoked diverse feelings among people: while some consider it to be ugly, others think that it is one of the best dresses to cover the US Vogue lately. Carey’s boring facial expression also was a matter of dispute.

The photoshoot was captured by the lens of Mario Testino and styled by Grace Coddington, who usually doesn’t style the celebrity features, but this time she made an exception. On the pictures Carey appears in the role of the 1920’s socialite as she wears an array of the stunning garments with rich embellishment from high fashion brands like Chanel, Christian Dior, Alexander McQueen, Nina Ricci and Oscar de la Renta and rolls in Tiffany & Co jewelry pieces.

In fact, Daisy Buchanan is considered to be one of the literature’s most loved and at the same time despised characters and Mulligan is ready to be criticized for her character:

I’m fully prepared to be completely ripped apart. Well, I’m not prepared; that’s the thing. I don’t want to be torn apart. We’ve all just tried something; we had fun, and we tried to do something interesting and exciting, something that people could connect with.

Mulligan stated that she found the source of inspiration in Ginevra King and Zelda Fitzgerald, who were the mistress and the wife of F, Scott Fitzgerald, author of Great Gatsby.

Mulligan about her role:

She feels like she’s living in a movie of her own life. She’s constantly on show, performing all the time. Nothing bad can happen in a dream. You can’t die in a dream. She’s in her own TV show. She’s like a Kardashian.

Lately Mulligan was not in demand since she starred in the movies Drive and Shame back in 2011. However her personal life was progressing as she married Marcus Mumford in 2012, the signer of the popular bang Mumford & Sons.

Carey on her marriage:

It’s unsettling that you get exactly what you wanted. Not like some version of it, not a slightly lesser version of it, but exactly. You’re like: This is weird. It is weird.

The premiere of The Great Gatsby is scheduled on May 10. Besides it will open the Cannes Film Festival on May 15.
