For a few centuries in a row girls have worn white wedding dresses on their big days. And while designs of dresses changed throughout the period the color stayed the same. It’s probably only ivory that is more or less close in popularity to white when it comes to bridal gowns. However, there is a designer, one of the best in the industry, who believes a wedding dress can be black… It’s Vera Wang.

Vera Wang has experimented with colors before. She’s tried green, blue and even purple. But for Spring 2012 season she went to the extreme – she sent 9 of her models down the runway in black pieces.

Of course Vera Wang’s black wedding dresses were as chic and fabulous as dresses of other colors but they still were black, which was odd and crazy in the sense that black color is a symbol of mourn in many cultures.

The designer explains her decision:

I found black to be fresh and tongue in cheek. With all the big weddings that happened this year, it was fun to step out of the box. I did take it to a witchy kind of place. For me, it helped build a sense of mystery that I was hungry for. And it added this sensuality and sexuality, and a little bit of severity, too.”

Maybe the idea is interesting but I wouldn’t want to wear black on my wedding. Would you?

At the wedding ceremony Anya Rubik wore a fabulous Pucci dress that was short in front (what wonderful legs she has!!!) and long in the back, with a train. She looked fantastic, like every bride does on her day.

I would never call Kate Moss cute in any other situation but being a bride she looks just like that – very cute. We have no full picture of her wedding dress yet but from the photo of her sitting in a car we can clearly see the gown is covered with rhinestones. There is also a glimpse of the vintage veil that is delicately embroidered. Natural makeup and perfectly styled hair complete the look. Oh no! It’s the happy smile that complete Kate’s wedding look.)))

Kate Moss, who is to marry her long-time boyfriend Hince tomorrow, has tried walking down the aisle already. But it was just the rehearsal. However, Kate looked glorious doing that.

She and her groom posed for cameras outside the church smiling later, when the rehearsal was over. And while Kate was more than eager to do that Hince felt a bit awkward but really couldn’t refuse the pleasure to his future wife.

Kate looked very feminine (which was surprising considering her usual style) wearing a hippy-style turquoise dress and a pair of totally amazing boots in the same color. The only thing made me a little disappointed. Kate wasn’t wearing any makeup and her hair was messy. Why not try harder, Kate?

To tell you the truth I’ve been following Lily Allen’ story with a sinking heart. The girl had money, her own growing business and popularity but she didn’t have the most important thing for a woman – a baby. Those two devastating miscarriages made her really unhappy but she manned herself and believed in the better future. Finally she has it all – a loving husband, who she married at St James the Great Church in the picturesque Cotswolds village of Cranham yesterday, and a baby she’s now expecting.

At her wedding day Lily Allen looked lovely. Her vintage lace dress flattered the singer’s changing body perfectly (By the way, it was Karl Lagerfeld who designed it!!!). The veil wasn’t as beautiful but it was Lily’s day and no one could judge her choice.

The wedding ceremony wasn’t too chic. Lily and her now-husband Sam Cooper invited 105 people – family and close friends, who they wanted to share their happiness with. During the celebration Sam announced his wife was at least 12 weeks pregnant.

Kate Middleton’s wedding dress featured a fabulous lace appliqué bodice with 9ft train. It is said to have been inspired by Grace Kelly’s gown for her marriage to Monegasque Prince Rainier III. To finish her look the new Queen opted for a 1936 diamond Halo tiara by Cartier, pear-shaped diamond earrings designed by Robinson Pelham, and of course the veil, made of layers of soft, ivory silk tulle with a trim of hand-embroidered flowers. However, you still have a lot to do, and even your wedding attire isn’t complete without lingerie. But do you know exactly what lingerie you need to be the best-looking girl at the ceremony? Probably not. This post will shed light to the problem and you will have quite a clear idea of what you want to be underneath.

My first and the main advice is: don’t economize on bridal lingerie as it creates the right shape of your dress, your silhouette and makes you feel great or terrible. This day will never repeat again and you want it to be memorable. So invest into a set that will make you feel like a queen.

The choice of the wedding lingerie depends much on the design of your gown. For example, if you are going to wear a strapless gown you will need a strapless bra or bustier to provide your bust with necessary lift and shape. Another good option can be a corset so that you can achieve the silhouette you desire.

By the way, get professionally fitted for a bra. You might worry too much about the ceremony and lose some weight, so to get the ideally fitting bra you need to re-measure yourself.

Wearing the wrong bra size can make you look heavier or saggier than you actually are. But it’s your wedding and you should look at your best!

Make sure that lingerie you choose isn’t too bulky to be worn under the dress. If your gown is a lightweight shift-type dress, a full bustier might look odd. Choose for something smooth and flimsy.

Panties are also important when you choose the lingerie set. Select a panty that will fit very close and not show any lines especially if you are wearing a tight fitting wedding gown that forms to your figure.

G-string is great for this purpose. But if your dress isn’t that tight and you can be sure no one will see the panty lines you may stop at something providing more coverage.

If you are a bit plump you might want to look slimmer at your big day. You can try some type of slimmers or shapewear under your dress but think twice before doing that. Such kind of underwear usually doesn’t look sexy and can be uncomfortable.

So, if your gown has a full skirt, it’s not necessary. But if the dress is clinging it can be a good idea. Weight pros and cons first!

Find a nice pair of stockings. Don’t skimp on that either. It isn’t that much more expensive to get a better quality pair of hose that you can be sure won’t run or gather up at your knees or ankles.

In case you have opted for an informal bridal gown of a particularly close-fitting type your best choice will be casual lingerie, including those nipple covers that adhere to your breasts providing minimal cover for your breast for maximum exposure when you want to show your most appealing and sexiest look.

You can even try a babydoll for your wedding day. But this is possible only if your gown is a traditional style. Ensure the babydoll you like is made of silk or chiffon to give you a sensuous hugging note.

This all was about the lingerie you will need at the ceremony itself. But when the first wedding night comes you can don just anything which you like much. Here no one will say you have made the wrong choice. It must be something that makes both of you feel great!
