New York Fashion Week Fall 2016 was full of coats and sweaters, but it’s the dresses that often make it to the red carpet and special events. That’s why designers give them special attention and lots and lots of hours of labor. The cut outs and metallic embellishments were the two main trends on New York runways while red and beige reigned in color department.
The designs range from strapless to long-sleeved but there are also a lot of interesting neck shapes and decorations. Most of these are very dramatic but some designers made more casual variants as well. For instance, that Diane Von Furstenberg dress is perfect for a low key (as in not Oscars) occasion and Dion Lee’s creation I see at the Cannes film festival photo call.
