Raf Simons decided to present a perfect image of the French stunner: she is elegant, stylish and bright. It is not about the catchy shades though. You will spot a couple of outfits in red, royal blue and turquoise, but other than that the line is in pastels. By bright I mean the ensembles that are styled in such an awesome way that it is unreal to stay unnoticed. This is exactly what Christian Dior line is about.

Simons also employed technical Japanese wool fabrics to rework the New Look silhouette with an ultrathin waist blooming into a full skirt, and used it for the panels of tailored jackets, coats and pants that eluded to updated versions of Gruau drawings. Inspired by T-shirt graphics, Simons modernized the eveningwear with woven images of floating flowers and landscapes affixed to the busts of glamorous satin numbers, such as a strappy top with a tail worn over languid pants.

The collection features magnificent dresses as well as various coats and skirts. Each of the looks is styled by marvelous handbags, shoes or eyewear pieces. What I found to be very engaging were the turtleneck-like scarfs that covered each model’s neck. This saucy piece serves two purposes: it adds a unique touch to the look and keeps our necks warm and safe.
