For those of you who are not familiar with this sort of awards here is a brief history lesson. Costume Designers Guild Awards were founded in 1999 and are distributed to the costume designers in Motion Pictures, Television, and Commercials annually. While we are not so much interested in who gets the awards, the costume part is of a high relevance. This ceremony, just like all the others, gather a lot of fabulous guests. And of course they pose on the red carpet showing off their perfect fashion taste to tens of photographers. What we are left with is much more exciting than lensing the celebrities and pushing each other in the long queues. Take a look at the most stunning outfits of the event and choose your favorite one.
Best Fashion Moments of 2014 Costume Designers Guild Awards
Kiernan Shepka features a very elegant outfit. Despite her very young age this talented lady shows off a great sense of style which is not possessed by some of the more mature celebrities. Maybe she can act as a role model for those stars who tend to overestimate their features and abilities. The beauty donned a lovely Delpozo dress in gray, cream and pink. The piece features several layers, sleeveless fit and delicate atlas. To complement her look, Kiernan opted for Nicholas Kirkwood shoes in leopard and Dana Rebecca Designs earrings.
Crystal Reed looked super elegant that night. The actress donned an exquisite strapless gown in black and white. The frock by Naeem Khan is designed in a very beautiful way, making one immediately fall into dreams about spring and warm sun rays. You will be overwhelmed by the power that these white florals have. Somehow the flowers don’t seem to overload the dress at all – usually they have quite an opposite effect. I believe, it is Crystal’s charm that makes the dress look so sophisticated. The star paired it with Swarovski clutch in white and jewelery pieces by Le Vian, M.C.L. Designs, and Shay Accessories.
Trish Summerville went for snow white and didn’t regret her choice, for sure. While most of the guests were covered in either classic black or brighter shades, Trish presented a very fresh and shining look. I adore her saucy dress with cut-out panels and flare midi skirt. She went very minimalistic in terms of the accessories, which was quite smart. Who on earth needs a bunch of jewelry pieces when you have such a marvelous frock? A pair of stylish scarpins in nude and a black clutch completed the outfit.
Amandla Stenberg looks the most creative and extravagant. However, I like her outfit a lot. Even the blue lipstick adds a touch of appeal to the look. The young actress also has a very engaging style which is to be followed by the older counterparts. She rocked a plain white turtleneck crop top along with the black high-waisted pants. The delicate black belt and a pair of classic black shoes accessorized the look. As you can see there is nothing outstanding in the outfit. Well nothing except for a catchy chain necklace in gold. This is the only bright detail of the ensemble and look how much playfulness it brings in.
These were the most interesting outfits of 2014 Costume Designers Guild Awards. Of course there were much more attendees, but the above four ones deserve our attention the most. Which look did you like the best?
