The Oscars for fashion, CFDA Awards have gathered a ton of models and designers and Hollywood stars on the red carpet at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York yesterday to give out Womenswear Designer of the Year to Marc Jacobs, Menswear Designer of the Year to Thom Browne, and a Fashion Icon Award to Beyonce. The red carpet was filled with outfits, so sit back and enjoy the best moments from the ceremony.
2016 CFDA Awards Best Fashion Moments
Kirsten Dunst wore a silver beaded Rodarte dress but the most eye-catchy thing in her outfit was perhaps a live orchid earring from Rodarte’s FW’16 Real Flower Jewelry.
Karlie Kloss looked positively cute in her white Rosie Assoulin dress with Swarovski crystals decorating her top and pink shoes. The model also went with the most summer-y hairstyle, top knot to give all the attention to the bow on her chest.
The new Victoria’s Secret angel, Josephine Skriver wore a beautiful reddish pink asymmetric dress with a heart-shaped neck and a small train. She accessorized her look with statement earrings and beige thin strap sandals.
Joan Smalls looked very different in her beige crop top dress and in a black wig with very blunt bangs. The model channeled a modern day Esmeralda in this midriff-baring red lipstick look.
Jasmine Tookes paired her sequined Prabal Gurung dress with Swarovski jewels and lacquered black pointed shoes.
Wearing a golden Naeem Khan jumpsuit Elsa Hosk stunned on the pink carpet upstaging many of the more known models.
Rosie Huntington Whiteley
Rosie looked breathtaking in a washed out seafoam green Michael Kors dress. The model accessorized her look with a pair of statement earrings like many others.
Rachel Zoe wore a custom Rachel Zoe dress in the designer’s favorite boho style with a bit more bling to it.
Rachel Roy wore a red one-shoulder dress with golden statement earrings, which made her look simply incredible.
Supermodel Naomi Campbell showed up in a custom black Brandon Maxwell dress with a plunging neck and cut out sides. The model’s hairstyle was even more notable as she sported a thick long braid to complement her layered bangs.
Michelle Monaghan’s dress won the red (pink) carpet for me. The strapless number featured an empire waist but still managed to look amazingly futuristic and stylish thanks to the metallic insert at the side.
Lauren Conrad pulled off a typical designer move and wore her own dress from the LC Lauren Conrad runway collection for Kohl’s, which she paired with a black elongated blazer. Between the rose beige color of the dress and her dark lipstick, I say she played the contrast game well.
